Hi guys,
I know that there are MODs for MIUI and CM. Does someone know that kind of MOD for AOSP?
What is it you are asking? To set keys?
I,m looking for a falshable zip, that allows me to skip tracks by long pressing the volume key.
Here is an example for MIUI: LINK (the second one)
Nothing new about this?
I'm interested in such a mod, too.
In case if ur using headphones for listening music..... Use Headset Droid application, where u can take total control of your music player in Headphone.....
Hope it helps
Sorry, i was also not able to find such mod other than in MIUI..
Or just use playerpro.
I think he means when you hold volume up it will skip music track and vice versa for volume down its on most also roms.

try Frinky Music Controller https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=frinky.volumeKeys.music.controller&hl=en
supports more than 200 music player including spotify and soundcloud.
single press controls music , more than one click controls volume.
actually long press can not be detected in stock roms.
Enjoy if it works in your phone
Its built into Cyanogenmod 13 on my phone.

Is there a way to use the camera button (or any other 3) on X10's to skip songs??? We had it on the Acer Liquid E, and I miss it alot on my SE X10
Are you running a stock SE ROM???
As if you install a 2.2 ROM you'll have the option to Pause and Skip on your lock sceen... There maybe an app in the market to let you assign buttons for Skipping tracks but I'm unaware of any.
I use MixZing Basic from the market, I'm not sure if installing this on 2.1 would enable the lock screen buttons but have a go.
He can use widget locker and ghost controls for the lockscreen

You can use the volume button to go to the previous and next song by holding the volume controls down with PowerAMP. It's a paid app but there could be a free music player on the market with this feature.

Thx for your responses, I will try with POwerAmp..... for now, until someone figure out how they did it on Liquid E's !!
Otherwise, if you flash any of the ROMs with CM6/7, there is an option to use the volume buttons for previous/next!
ok, I did'nt know CM had that...... but I'm on EWJET, and I dont plan to change rom soon....... but thx
Wolfbreaks rom has this feature built in, just use volume keys when screen off to go forward/back.

Do you think it would be possible to enable it? It's a pain to change track with the touchscreen honestly..
I know that it's possible to do it with Cyanogenmod, so basically we need a ROM ?
I believe PlayerPro and Poweramp can do that, maybe some others. I use Cubed and it doesn't.
Poweramp can't do that
Are there any news on this front?
I'm guessing you want to control playback without looking at the screen.
I have the same need, so I got a Jabra Clipper.

Try Tactile Player from the market, free or paid. I've been using it with the N7 player and it works. Double click buttons to change tracks, that way you still have single click control of volume. Play/pause with power button clicks.
Just select emulate headset controls in the app.

Thank you very much for posting this. Works great with the stock music player.

That is GREAT! Thank you even though I have problems. It's a mess with voodoo sound, when I change track with a double press the track does change but the volume keeps rising I use PowerAmp but I suppose it's system-wide

It seems like it keeps rising but I don't think it actually does. After going forward a few tracks you see the volume bar getting higher, but if you hit the volume down to make it quieter the volume actually hasn't moved.
Great app, but it's irritating that if you hold down one of the volume buttons it'll fly through tracks rather than turning the volume up or down substantially.
I'm still gunna use it though, this is exactly what I've been looking for to use while driving. It's such a pain in the ass to unlock the thing, go to the music player and find the right spot on the touchscreen to skip tracks while driving.
the analog volume does rise with voodoo sound at the point you can't stand it, maybe you don't use voodoo sound? and yeah the fact that you can't change the volume without getting crazy is a problem :-(
I thought the player did not support voodoo sound since it does not use the Wolfson chip???

I think the 4.0 players have the Wolfson chip, 5.0's use the Yamaha AFAIK.
yes I have the 4.0 player, what are you using?
I'm on US 5.0 player.
I'm not too concerned since I have Wolfson chip on two other devices. And the Yamaha chip doesn't sound 'bad' just not as good as the Wolfson.
you could always get one of those "shake" to change tracks apps then you don't have to worry about volume changing when skipping tracks.
hello just like cm7 and blackberrey
is there an app for controlling my music forward and backword by holding the volume buttons ?
or if there a way tell me please
Correct me if I'm wrong (I don't have a SGAce anymore), but I think that CM7 offers this feature in their CMSettings.
i know but i wan't it on stock rom
Yes, you can with PowerAMP
Sent from my GT-I8150 using Tapatalk
almost all of apps for music have this feature ....like Double twist, power amp, etc.
okay i have downloaded don't know where is the options?
powerAMP
no you didn't get it
i wanna control the music to shift to the next song of the back one wihle the screen is locked
so i don't have getout my phone out of my poket
Is there a general mod that can be loaded to enable media next/previous track control using the volume rocker or is this something that has to be baked into the ROM you're using?
Thanks!
I'm not sure about stock players, but Poweramp has that feature built in (long press to skip to next track). If you've never tried Poweramp, you're missing out. Makes your music sound incredible.

Really only interested in using it for Spotify. I've used ROMs in the past which have included this functionality and worked with pretty much any player (including Spotify), but the ROM I'm on now (GeeWiz Media) doesn't and I'm really missing this feature.
I would suggest posting this question on his thread over in the development forum, he's been pretty good about listening to what people want and implementing features. Couldn't hurt to ask.
Does anyone know of a Rom that includes or music player on the market that has the ability to change songs by holding the volume rocker? I listen to a lot of music on bluetooth speakers and don't want to take my phone out of my pocket everytime I want to skip a song.
Edit: If I am understanding my research correctly this is a framework change and not so much a music player design. I see it can be changed using xposed framework, however, I don't feel like changing over to xposed just for this feature. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I use Doubletwist. And though I don't actually use rocker, double click on headphones works everytime.
