I'm using VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition v7.1.0 which is supposed "Not" to have camcoder functions. But it appears last night while showing a friend not only did I record a video but it actually automatically uploaded to my G+ account. (it was only about 4 seconds long but it worked )
Has anyone else using this rom been able to record videos?
VT has camera. I just moved off of 7.0.0 and it had camera. GB roms have cam afaik, although it sucks. HC roms do not.

hello all I have a problem with my camcorder, i just rooted my atrix on gingerbread and unlocked it. when going through my apps I went into my camera app to discover that the resolution for my video only goes up to dvd and not HD 720p. Furthermore the only way to get into my camcorder settings is to click on the camera app, not the camcorder app and change it, otherwise if i hit the settings tab while in the camcorder app it will crash no matter how many times i restart. this also happen the first time i upgraded to gingerbread the official OTA version. i had to completely reset my device, i do not want to reset my device is there any way around this?
Try finding the D3 camera installer in the dev thread. I'm not sure if it works for stock gb but if it does it records in 1080

hey guys,
I rooted my friends sgs2 and couldn't get two things to work. the portable WiFi hotspot keeps getting an error when i try to click on the check-mark. the second one is the video camera doesn't work. he's running the cm7 (not nightly) is there a ROM that has a working video cam?

I'm also running CM7 (not nightly). I believe the exact rom I flashed was from this thread (update-cm-7.1.0-RC1-Galaxys2ATT) and the video camera works fine. I just tested to confirm, I was able to record video with both front AND back cameras.
That said, I've heard that CM7 doesn't support 1080p video recording even when the camera IS working.
I have ba2tf installed and I like LGCamcorder since I like the higher audio bitrate at 320kbps. I can record 1 or maybe 2 videos but usually on the 3rd record it messes up and I can't connect to the camera to record another. It does the same thing on the built in camera. Any known fixes? Video recording is not stable on this device. I use the kernel and radio in my sig with minimal third party apps.

So, I just installed the latest 1.0 Morrisoft which is based on the latest nightly May-27th and I still have the issue. If I begin to record and stop after 10 seconds. Then try to record again, the frame is frozen and it will start record again but the frame is frozen. Then if I stop and exit from the app, I get the error "Cannot connect to camera". I was using the Reflex-like camera mod so I flashed the "default cm7 camera add-on" from neturino's add-on's to revert back. Still getting the same problem.
Any suggestions?

Maybe the Atrix camera can't take high audio bitrate. You could be pushing it.

It occurs only with the stock cm7 camera with no audio adjustment.
this problem seems starts when u flashed a non camera supporting roms, i have this too , i guessed
this topic must be seen by devs and mods, this is a rare and heavy problem

Ok, strange title, I admit, bit it describes exactly what problems I am encountering.
My camera app is working fine, but I cannot use camera related apps. I didn't try a lot of apps but the main 2 I want to use (or 1 of both) are Dailyroads Voyager and Autoguard. I want to use my camera as a dashcam. Unfortunately, recording video in these apps won't work. I've tried different options in terms of quality, codecs, resolution, framerates, bitrates,... nothing works. I've also had lengthy mails with the Dailyroads developer, sending him logs. All to no avail.
The standard camera app works flawlessly. I can make vids and pictures no problem at all, 8MP stills and 1080p video. When I flash the photosphere app, it works as expected. Spheres and stills work, for video the sound works but picture is distorted. Which is, as I said, as expected. I've read numerous accounts of the video recording not working.
The strange thing is this only happens on certain ROMs. I've tried Resurrection Remix, and that worked. I then switched to JellyBam (couple of months) where it didn't work. Now in the last couple of days, I tried TurkbeyRom, and hollt [email protected], it worked! However, TurkbeyRom hurts my eyes. Menus are just too 'busy' (can't think of the proper word). So then I switched to SuperNexus since 2 days. Excellent ROM. It improved my battery life with about 1/3rd. But unfortunately, both Dailyroads and Autoguard don't work.
Is there anyone who can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Just to add clarification: The apps work, I can go through settings etc, but from the moment I hit the record button, the image freezes and recording fails.

Well i guess it's rom related, because i am using CM 10.1 and a few games aren't working (Dungeons Hunter 4 and other games), but they work on stock rom and some other roms.

I'm afraid it is rom related, but maybe someone knows a fix? It's a bit strange I think that some roms have this problem and others don't. Even stranger is that I can't seem to find anyone else with problems relating to apps using the camra.
I just flashed it on my Droid X2 and it works fine except for the camera. I understand that's its a build off CM9 that has the same problem is there a way to fix it?
camera (like as in taking pics) or camcorder (as in taking video) ?if you mean video,use video cam illusions (play store app) thats the only way to get videos working . atleast for the ics version of miui
