[ROM] Deodexed Syatem and Framework (45.2.5) - Motorola Photon 4G

Brought to you by midNIGHT ROM and Android4Autism
I thought I would share this for anyone that's interested. I don't have a great deal to contribute at the moment as I have my hands full. However, I wanted to share this for anyone that wants a stock deodexed system and framework.
Bloatware is easy enough to remove with root explore. If you guys want it then I strip it all out and post a second .zip..
This zip isn't flashable and you can use ADB to push and pull the System and Framework. All you need is to be rooted. You don't need an unlocked bootloader.
Note: when you type "su" make sure to give permission on you phone
Download and extract each folder to the root of your INTERNAL memory.
Here are the commands needed to push this over to your phone.
adb shell
su
stop
mount -o rw,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
cp /sdcard/deodexed_app/* /system/app/
cp /sdcard/deodexed_frame/* /system/framework/
rm /system/app/*.odex
rm /system/framework/*.odex
mount -o ro,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
reboot

The files are uploadinng now and will be posted on my site in just a bit. For those of you not familiar with me and how I operate here's the deal. I'm a father to 3 boys on the Autism Spectrum. I do this work in order to help out the community and raise Autism Awareness. Directing you to my site is only to raise awareness about Autism. You don't have to register for anything and ALL my work is free of cost.
I have a project going on right now called Android4Autism, where I take donated Android devices and turn them into learning tools for kids on the spectrum. These are donated to families that would otherwise never be able to obtain such a device. I made my first donation about a week ago and it was an amazing experience.
I appreciate your understanding and support. I'm sorry if you disagree with my methods but I have the overwhelming support for many in the community and my methods have been approved by the mods.
Thank you so much.

Ok, so if I couldn't care less about theming, I would shoot for an odexed ROM for best performance over stock?

Cool. Yeah all this is just the deodexed system and framework. This is NOT a functioning ROM. Easy enough to zip up I suppose. I just figured that for right now we could just push with ADB. I'll look into making it flashable, for those with CW Recovery installed.

Although I don't really know you since I was a former EVO guy, as a parent, I think it's great that you partnered the tweaking of our phones to help support your cause. Hats off to you.
I really am looking forward to seeing what type of things you and the rest of this growing community can do for our phones.
Thanks.

Loved your stuff for the epic! Super excited to see you in the photon forums!

ABOUT
Thanks to PreLudeDrew for getting this working. My First roms were having issues so Im using his update script and binary.
This is a stock ODEXed rom nothing more so no photos needed
Toast, PreLudeDrew, BigRustDog thanks for the great support.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Most of you don't like wiping your phone to install roms. But when it comes to that its best to just bite the bullet and get a clean install.
I will try to make roms so that you can just install on top and just clear dalvic cache.
I'm at V2 right now so if I go to 2.1 it can be installed on top with just a clear of cache and dalvic but if I do V3 then its best to wipe the phone as I have done something big for a change.

I know right, since I had to sell back my HeroC to Sprint (damn I miss that phone ) to be able to afford my 3D I haven't flashed anything to a phone in over a month. It's actually been fun though using sense again, and I'm definitely content in waiting until we get S-OFF/perm root. The wait will make it that much better.
compressed photos and movies.
then made the CPU not have to work as hard with the apps, zipaligned, and thats that.
will do more work.

Stock ROM could be annoying , but xBoarder said he'll start working on AOSP / ICS / MIUI once he get's his phone by the mean time . Sit back relax & once we get recovery there will be 3 ROMS to choose from .
1) BeastROM
2) TO Tweaked | OUT
2#2) TO Tweaked | OUT themed
3) Gingercream
If there's a test IMG of the recovery, lmk, just got my amaze a few hours ago, I'd be happy to test it.

I have the token to unlock my phone, just haven't done it yet.

Ok Here is the deal...you have many choices. I would flash'em all and go with what you feel is the snappiest most consistant rom. You have plenty to choose from to keep you busy until the wife or the girlfriend gives you the screwface...lol. You got the big homey llllboredlll repping with the RezRom,
you got the mad scientist Nilsp coming with Business Gingersense, Then comes Bamf with their Rezound Rom, Chingy and Newt with ineffabilis, Scrosler with Cleam Rom. Also as time goes on more developers will come to the party.
I mean there are so many choices and I can't and won't say what Rom is better. It is user preference.
Just flash and decide.
We are hardly inundated with ROMs ... we've been unlocked for a week..

Can this be flashed using 4EXT or must it be renamed and flashed like any other stock ROM? (relocking bootloader, renaming file, etc)
Curious because I wanted to update to the "R2" version released by football..but might as well use this if it's already rooted and such, save a little time.
By the way, anyone know what the difference is between the latest ICS OTA and the "R2" version posted by football? (it wasn't posted in the Amaze forums, but it was posted on his filefactory account)
Kind if irritated that I even updated to ICS at all right now (used the OTA) because it seems to have totally borked WiFi calling (there's some kind of crazy delay that appears ~10 minutes into a phone call... other users getting the same thing). Really didn't want to S-OFF and revert to GB, though, so hoping this "R2" release fixed that

[WIP][DEV]Sense 4.0

Welcome to the dev thread for sense 4.0 based on the HTC Desire C. When I get home, I'll post the system in a zip, so we can all get cracking.

Did you see my remarks in the other thread? about all the duplicate apps between the system/app and data/app ?
The problem is for start, the system folder is 400mb size, and even though after getting rid of duplicates, i managed to take it down to just 305mb, it still would not even boot up far enough to give me a log file.
Also, take note that the sh file is written as sh0, which is why it can't be found.

I tried doing that, but it didn't help...
You could take the non-major system apps and symlink them to the sdcard, like
make a folder called /sdcard/system.app containing a good portion of the system apps and symlink it to /system/app
How's the project going? Just a bit curious...
Sorry for the wait, guys. I'm finally back. I'm gonna symlink some apps to the /data partition. It should be uploaded sometime tomorrow.

Guess this guy is either busy or facing problems during dev....Did not hear from him for a while
Was looking forward to this as my last hope. CM7 is giving me problems and it would be nice to get some Sense again.
??????????????????????
Wish I knew more, so I can help out but damn not enough time for anything! Can't anybody just port from a different device, I mean cm9 was ported to this device. Don't mean to be demanding sorry if it sounds like it does! You guys are great!
