Best Froyo rom for Optimus V? - Optimus One, P500, V General

I've tried Gingerbread for a while, the only Froyo rom I tried was Bumblebee. Any suggestions?

Bumblebee is the best Froyo ROM, although Harmonia is close behind. Reborn ROM is an option as well, and has some nice features like the notification toggle widgets. I found myself hating the Launcher though, and had bad battery life.
Most likely, you'll end up right back with CM7 though. In my experience, once you go Gingerbread, you can't go back. I just miss the features of CM too much when I'm on Froyo, despite the amazing battery life.

Is there any possibility of getting Bumblebee to have custom notification Widgets like CM7 has? I love Bumblebee but it lacks customization. What are the highlights of Harmonia?

Launcher Pro vs ADW

Just curious about people's general view of which is better? I rarely see any roms with launcher pro instead usually use adw...is there a reason for this?

I personally like launcherpro better. It has all the features adw has (minus themes) and i find it faster. Just my opinion.

I'm using Tazz's froyo build it uses ADW as default. I have grown to like it, before while I had 2.1 I was always running Launcher PRO. They both have there plusses but Launcher Pro is the king.

launcher pro shows missed calls and emails for icons in the dock. i like that little touch. adw has the themes and really like that.
kinda go back and forth for now.
Launcherpro.
What I've come to understand is that while LauncherPro packs more features, ADW has the advantage of being open source. I've seen differing opinions on which one is "better" in terms of resources and performance, but I think the open source versus closed source bit is why so many roms include ADW.
The open source really just leads to a million themes for it lol, launcherpro's dev is pretty great. He's quick to respond to tweets/ emails and he's managed to get sense/ blur widgets. Plus it's incredibly fast... smoothest I've had by far.
LPP for life yo
Launcher pro is all I use.

I've used both, but truly prefer LauncherPro Plus. Resizing widgets, notifications in the dock, and smooth fast performance makes for a happy Eris

Launcher pro, 3d app drawer and scrollable dock. Must have.

It's my understanding that ADW and Cyanogen are closely tied in some way (??).
I purchased LauncherPro. Everyone here likes LauncherPro, ROM developers need to use it instead of ADW. I usually install LauncherPro first thing after a fresh ROM install.

The reason I love ADW is for the swyping option on the home screens. I can swype up and the notification bar disappears and I can swype down and the dock disappears. pretty slick.....

It can be disabled FYI. It scared me the first time I accidentally swipe down and lost my thing. I freaked out and rebooted my phone. Lol. I still like LauncherPro =)

This is one of the few features that I really miss when using LP. They are both great programs. LP always seems faster and and smoother. The notifications on the icons is another great feature.

Keep in mind there is a couple versions of adw. There's the system integrated that's on ROMs from the get go, then there's the standalone from the market. Launcher pro is great. My wife uses it on her droid. Both are good I think it all comes down to features.

Fresh updates
Can anyone send the link to the most recent Launcher Pro, and ADW?
Thanks guys

[Q] Best stock Android rom.

Is there a rom for the VIbrant that uses all-stock 2.2/2.3 Android? I really, REALLY dislike the messaging and contacts that seem to be remnants of TouchWiz. I have the bionix-v w/o touchwiz and while it has been fast and stable I'd also really like stock contacts and messaging.
Any ideas? Possibilities? Roms to check out that have this?
For me personally the remnants of touchwiz on the stock bionix v rom are the essentials I need. But I also heard that the flagship v3 (not sure) is really STABLE, FAST, and amazing BATTERY. If I was gonna flash to another rom it would be flagship!

cm7 lockscreens???

Are there more CM7 lockscreens? or can perhaps the Miui lockscreens be ported over here because miui is a copy of cm7 except theme wise as i've heard...
I was just wondering that myself. I don't much care for the lock screens that come with CM7, and don't really want to have to download a lockscreen app. :/
One word, widgetlocker.

Not really. CM7 is about as good as it gets. It has all the Blur bloat scraped off. Every other ROM is still Motorola's ROM with a theme and some tweaks smacked on. Might want to try Aura, but it's still a ROM based off of Motorola.
Cool, what's different about aura?

Might want to try the Aura debloat version. Has most of the Moto crap removed. Its also benching faster than CM7 right now on 1.1GHz. Very smooth ROM with great support. Fingerprint and Webtop both work also.
Assimilated via WinBorg 4G

It is nice to be mentioned Though it is only benching that high on the unreleased version.
It runs well, pretty smooth on the newest, unreleased build of Aura but it isn't flawless. The fly-in animation for the app drawer is noticeably less smooth with a live wallpaper running (on the Launcherpro it comes with, that is) but apps run perfectly fine.
Edit: ADW is a little smoother than Launcherpro while running a live wallpaper.
KOI live wallpaper makes any launcher slow .... weird thing, maybe someone could find a fix, because any LW is slow at least a bit.

does anyone use Go Launcher on the Rezound?

does anyone use Go Launcher on the Rezound?
The only reason I use it is because I like having
a lot of icons on one home screen. (6x7 to be
precise) HTC Sense doesn't seem to allow this,
or did I miss something?
THanks!
i tired and it lagged like hell on both ics and gingerbread. try adw ex, thing is smooth as butter.

I'm surprised it works fine on ics for you since I read a lot of compatibility complaints. I know it works fine on gb
I've used Sense, ADW, Go, Trebuchet, Nova, and now Apex. Out of all of them, only Go gave me a feeling of slow responsiveness. All custom launchers have lots of tweaks now (including grid size), so I go with whatever is in my current flavor of ICS unless I get issues.

Have used on cleanrom DE 1.2 with no problems and no lag. Now using mx launcher. Works pretty good.

Running GoLauncherEX myself. No lag at all
Have ran it on the following:
Ineffabilis Dues v1.01 and v1.4
CleanROM GBE, DE and SE
Still on old firmware as well. No problems
I use go everything. Rocks Widgets, keyboard, etc, it's super handy.

I do and I really like it.

i'm using it on stock/unrooted....no issues whatsoever.
I had some lag on stock. Maybe I should give it another try...
im running it on CR 4.3 without lag or slugishness
I used goLauncher. However, I noticed the icons were very tiny, and widgets didn't take up the correct size of the screen. I'm using Apex Launcher now, so far no problems.
I absolutely love go launcher. It had all the options I need plus amazing themes. Rotation, gestures, custom fonts despite ics, and phenomenal updates, nothing even comes close. Sadly it only ran smooth on aosp or cm7 on tbolt. It runs like **** on rezound, after debloating and desensing , specially on ics. Ppl suggested other launchers but none come close in terms of themes maybe in options..
I just deal with the lags and hick ups and thank my god for their phenomenal dev team they came a long way on ics
Ask not what your developer can do for you, ask what you can do for your developer.
Used it for awhile and then noticed in my proxy logs that it was calling to china randomly throughout the day. adw ex now.

I tried go launcher when I was completely stock and it did lag so I decided I would try out sense for awhile. I ran go launcher on my Droid x running miui. I ended up not liking the sense launcher at all. Yesterday I rooted and tried out a couple of roms. Go launcher works great on cleanrom 1.7.5 and ineffabilis 1.4(currently on).

I use go launcher myself. I started using it real close to it's initial release and it definitely offers the most complete package among it's competitors in my opinion.
