I was looking at the evo 3d qhd thread and when I try to use a picture as wallpaper, it always ask me to crop so I only get a part of the picture when I do it.
Is it a possibility not to crop the picture??

Rooted Evo 3D in full affect
well the only way i found how to do that was with Go Launcher. If you install it, then press menu button, go to wallpapers. You still need to crop the image, but its much bigger they in Sense.
U need to set the wallpaper using HTC wallpaper or HTC gallery

If your using the stock launcher that is going to be tough, however you might want to try wallpaper wizadrii free from the market. let me know if that helps any.

Well I found one that okay on htc wallpaper. As for Wizadri I didn't work. I still need to crop it and i lose about half of the picture.

It seems as though the wallpaper no longer scrolls with Sense 3.0. This sucks, and there doesn't seem to be any sort of workaround. Not that I was going to stick with the stock launcher for long anyway but it would have been nice. The launcher isn't even semi-transparent like I hoped it would be. ROOT can't come fast enough!

yeah i noticed that too now i need to re-size all of my images unless we can find a fix for that, not a deal breaker on my end either and the sensitivity of the scroll would be nice to adjust i have barely touching it and sending it in full carousel spin
Might have something to do with the continuous home screen scroll and 3d carousel ...

That is probably it. HTC should have made the wallpaper scroll until the carousel effect started.

Is there any option at all to turn that BS carousel off..!?. (i did read through whole thread just wondering again) had speacial pictures of family on each of the home screens that meant something to me.
Use another launcher besides sense if you want wallpaper scrolling

Ok, really really hope that I am missing something obvious here. When ever I choose a wallpaper to set, it makes me zoom in WAY too much . Wallpapers that I used a lot on my Evo4G are now just 1/3 showing on my 3D. Is there something that I'm missing here, or what is the problem, and is there a solution? This is really the ONLY thing that is frustrating me about this awesome phone.
The new carousel feature makes it so wallpapers are static. And I dont know why most become so zoomed in.

I felt the same way about wallpapers on the 3D until I saw someone suggest HD Wallpapers from the market and this has been a good solution for me as far as wallpapers go. Lots of great HD pics and no cropping, you just select the pic and that's it.

Try the one by gfx android it runs very smooth. Unless that's the one you're referring to?

Also noticed after a while for whatever reason, the wallpaper will zoom way in, and when you go to re crop it the size of the cropping tool is squared and no longer rectangle. A reboot fixes it and the wallpaper is zoomed back out. I suppose it could be the rom im using which Chogardjr3d.

wallpaper set and save is a must have for any sense device. lets you set pics as wallpapers at native res with NO cropping.
Figured out today what may be causing the wallpaper to blow way up. Probably the same problem when the home screen gets stuck on 3d when you hit the back button from the camera too fast. Its the only time my wallpaper gets huge and when I go to change it the cropping feature is double the size as well. Only way to get it back to normal is open camera and back out slowly or reboot.

i was using Flikie wallpapers, but the wallpapers are too big and the Evo 3D will not let me use the entire picture.
do i need to crop them myself?
or what is everyone using?

I'm using Flikie. I download the pictures instead of just setting them to wallpaper. You should be able to crop that way.
yeah i download the pictures into my sd card, and when i try to set it as wallpaper, im only able to crop up to 540x960 . its like only so big. it doesnt cover the entire wallpaper

Odd, all of mine work.
yeah its not working for me, even when i set it as wallpaper, i have two options. the pictures i download from flikie is bigger than 540x960 . and it only resizes like the middle of the picture. thats it.
I started using backgrounds in the market it works great, even lets you crop after you download it and they look much better, and they actually got some qHD wallpapers

I feel pretty bad about poring this but how on earth do you set a wallpaper on this thing? I have a nice 1280x800 wallpaper but its cropping it. I've used several apps to no avail. Please help. Thanks

I tried your meathod. It works until I change the orientation. I can't stand how it changes it.
Multiple live wallpaper is displaying the image but as multiple small pics on the bottom of the screen. Any ideas?
Nevermind. I had to disable the workaround. Still doesn't work as fast but at least it works
Few questions about setting my backgrounds. I just installed the super nexus Rom. First, I can't figure out how to set a lock screen picture at all. It's just transparent to my home screen pic.. can't figure how to do it separate. And second.. I can't figure out how to set a stationary full size background. I have a portrait style picture that I want as my backgrounds but any way I try it forces me to crop it and zooms in on the picture way too far.

im not on this rom so not sure if that is a good answer for you......but in most roms im assuming it would be under settings>customization or rom control>lock screen>background. from there there should be some options like fill color, custom image and default wallpaper.
you can use QuickPic to choose a wallpaper and crop it o how you like and you can use a launcher like Apex or Nova and uncheck wallpaper scroll.

your on supernexus dont expect cm type features its meant to be an AOSP feel, as for cropping thats also part of aosp haha and many other roms... but a way around that is to either use
