Flash support at last. And it's really fast like the rest of the browser
Works beautifully on the Nook...at least as far as I have tested it
Found it in this thread:

EDIT: And it's on the market now....
is it true you can't change the user agent
There's a setting in about:config, where you can change the user agent setting. Haven't tested it yet, though
EDIT: Check the thread in the OP again, there are better instructions in there. I can't get google to show me the classic view, but it seems to work for other sites

There is also a new release version of Firefox 4 today for mobile (and one for desktop as well btw).
There is an add-on that allows you to change user agent back and forth, seems a better idea, since I want mobile display for some pages and desktop display for others.

example of opera vs dolphin scrolling visit this website

notice dolphin cant hang but opera glides threw it
,,also changing user agent strings was easy and effective using the method posted
to enable destop view
1 about:config
2 scroll to user prefs
3 scroll to user agent and enter Opera/9.80 (Linux; en) Presto/2.7.81 Version/11.00
"to enable smooth scrolling"
4 scroll some more and check smooth scrolling
5 scroll down more and hit save
if flash isnt working
1 close opera with task killer
2 uninstall flash from market
3 reinstall flash from market
4 open opera
5 enjoy flash
This is MUCH faster than DolphinHD for me on stock rooted 1.1. Can't load the new Firefox Mobile beta because I uninstalled the old one via manage applications. As others have said, you CAN change the user agent. I changed mine to the iPad, which works well so far.

Another tip: Uncheck "Scroll is Pan" in User Prefs.
Problem I have with Opera Mobile is that vertical scrolling is not locked. Disabling Scroll is Pan helps a little bit.

Also after you've zoomed in and text-wrapped by double-tapping, then scroll up and down with the consequent left or right panning of the text column, double-tapping an area of text again re-centers the text column.
Hi guys, I had a quick question regarding using multiple browsers in your android os. Everytime I use another browser, it keeps asking me to pick a browser when I click on a link.
For example, If I am using skyfire and i click a link, it will ask me again if I want to use skyfire or stock browser for the link.... im like.. im in skyfire I'd like skyfire to complete the link.
I know I can solve this issue by setting the default program for internet but if I do set the default to skyfire, it won't let me use the android browser as a link pressed in android default broswer will open up skyfire for any link I press in the stock browser....
Any help would be appreciated thanks!
Solution: Either keep pressing the select browser to open link every time or use the default browser and switch to using only 1 browser.
Opera is a really good choice btw and better than both stock and skyfire.
There really aren't too many other "solutions" for this. Find a browser you really like and use it for your default.

Hey thanks for the help. I guess I'll just have to stick to manually clicking my choices each time because I do want both. Sometimes, other browsers just have problems and I need to use the stock android browser.
I also tried all of them, dolphin(s), opera, miui, etc... I came out liking skyfire best other than the stupid social network bar at top.
one quick thought, it only makes sense that this needs to change. it's kinda like using chrome on my desktop and it asking me what browser to use everytime I click a link. Is this a fix on the os side or the app side??
I use 2 browser which is the stock and opera, I don't have this problem.
try this, if you're on the stock browser select the stock browser as default, then when you're on Skyfire when it ask you again choose Skyfire. I think that's what I did.

There is also a free app in the market that lets you input a URL and choose which browser to use for that specific URL.

It's OS-side and I don't see it being changed simply because most people use a single browser and never have this issue.
Here is yet another "possible" fix though: Set your default Android browser as default. Get an icon to skyfire on your homescreen. Every time you click a link from within another app (XDA, Email, Messaging, etc), it will open it with the default browser. Every time you wish to use Skyfire, start it up from its icon.
You should never be asked which browser you wish to use again.
Hi. I am having problems with changing the user agent for my broswer( the default one and I am running ics 4.0.3). I have tried user:agent and user:debug and even the request desktop site feature, but is still unable to get the desktop site. If u have any solution without rooting the phone, please reply. thx in advance.
Change browser to Quick ICS browser or else, which has the browser agent switching option.
For Gingerbread it was about:useragent.
Btw- There is an option in the stock browser to select 'request desktop site'.

try InBrowser from the Market, I was also sick of Facebook being loaded as phone mode even when I had changed the setting for stock AND skyfire browsers......... skyfire used to be good, now I don't think so, YouTube and Facebook load how they want to regardless of changing settings and also inputting text on some sites can be near on impossible...... before someone recommends it, avoid Skyfire it's dated!

I have Flash working on my Nexus 10 using the latest versions of the Dolphin browser and the Skyfire browser downloaded from the Play Store and I am able to watch video clips on the BBC Web site and the TVCatchup Web site without needing to root the Nexus 10 or use a seperate iPlayer application.
I have the Dolphin browser Agent set to "Desktop" and in the Web Content setting I have the Flash Player set to "Always on".
I have the Skyfire browser set to "Load Pages As:" Desktop and "Enable Plug-ins" Always On.
I attach a copy of the Flash apk that I use and which needs to be "side-loaded" to the "Download" folder in the "My Files" folder then install using a file manager such as Astro by clicking it.
I've not been able to get Flash working on the Chrome browser or the Opera Mobile browser this way and l could not play the BBC clips using the Boat browser but I could watch TVCatchup.
I hope this way of getting Flash on the Nexus 10 browsers works for you too and if so then please show your gratitude by using the thanks button.

Thanks for the info. I'm using dolphin also... Quick question, can you pleas elaborate on the step above? I've never rooted or used Astro before, so I'm a little green. I know this doesn't require root, but you see where I'm coming from... I think the side loading step is basically downloading the file to the N10, but the Astro part is not as clear. Also, if you go to ESPN.com using Dolphin, can you play those videos?

Download Astro from the Play Store and when you runi it then it will show you the folders on the Nexus 10 and you will find the Download folder iwhere the Flash player is saved in the My Files folder under Folders.
The video clips on ESPN.com do not play unfortunately, but I don't know why not

The flash player loads, but it then tells me that the content is unavailable due o it not being authorized for playback on the device.
Do you think this might be possible with the regular Android browser that other devices have?
I used the same apk from another source with Maxthon browser, works perfect on all media I have tried.

Yes same here with Maxthon and the Stock Android Browser. With the exception (so far) of ESPN. I'm getting sound but no video with both browsers.
I've got flash working on Dolphin. The flash player setting is set to "on demand", and I can't change it. I get the "flash is disabled because its no longer supported." message, but the setting stays at "on demand".
"On demand" was the setting I used on my previous tablet, and when I switched to the N10, I backed up my old Dolphin settings with Titanium Backup and restored them on the N10, so that's probably how the setting got stuck that way.
So it looks like the answer for using flash on Dolphin is to use Titanium Backup and a backup file from a pre-Jellybean device. Of course you need to be rooted for that.
Just get the older version of Dolphin from here and everything will work lawlessly:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1787595
Tested on several websites and didn't have any problem, except ESPN, but over there it is a different issue.

OK so I got my flash working without root access ' what I did was side load flash ' then used boat browser and set the flash to always and user agent to desktop. But I will say it runs so bad guys , its very slow and I assume it has to do with the screen res and how much it has to download at the same time, using it also drained my battery heavily and made the back end really hot lol wait for a html5 to catch up lol that's what I say.

Works wit Firefox too
I just got this to work with Firefox. I had to remove and reinstall FF after side loading flash. Dolphin had to be done the same way, and in no way did any of this work for me until after I updated to 4.2.1. I updated dolphin to the latest version once I got it to work and the darn update turned flash off... So I got rid a dolphin and kept Firefox because ff is @ the latest version.

flash works fine in the stock browser, you just need to side load a flash APK. Anything 11.1 or higher will work fine. Enjoy your porn :silly:.
It works well with boat browser and boat lets you set the user agent to desktop

So, even though it's JB the stock browser works with Flash? That's a big plus since I'm not yet ready to give up in-browser Flash videos. Now, it just needs root, SixAxis and Wireless Tether and I'll be content.

All Adobe said was that Flash for Android would be discontinued and wouldn't be officially supported by them after ICS. That doesn't mean it won't continue to work on some devices running 4.1 on up, just that there's no promise of working. I think Flash is still working with most Jelly Bean devices.

Same here. I doesn't work properly on some youtube videos. Some videos show scrambled lines but no pictures, some others just won't play. I installed the same JB version of Flash that I've been using on my SG3 (worked perfectly on all dozens of custom ROMs that I had flashed) and on my ATT Note (also on dozens of ROMs from AOSP, AOKP, to CM10 etc...) Good idea! Apparently it is working according to the test pages. Maybe its just certain sites use a different player not suited for mobile...ill download dolphin beta and see if it works. Ive been out of the loop for a bit...why has adobe stopped supporting android? That was a major advantage of android in the early days.
Web site is probably borked and not handling browser user agent ID correctly. For example, videos on main page Yahoo don't work but Yahoo Movies do. Other tech news sites work too.

CNN videos work fine for me in Boat Browser. Been using that browser exclusively for about 6-months now and is about the best and fastest browser for Android with Dolphin coming in a close second.
You can get all of the Flash versions, and the latest (old) version of Dolphin that supported Flash from this link here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774336
I'm using the latest version of Flash (11.1.115.27) and the latest version of Boat Browser.
Just letting you guys know...CNN is a strange website in that
If you ever enter CNN without the Desktop Mode enabled and try to watch a video, then they drop a cookie in your browser, so when you come back to the website with Desktop mode, flash videos will not work. So the solution is to clear your cache.
I am having the best luck with Beta Firefox, addon: Desktop by Default (makes sites think your phone is a normal computer so no mobile bull****) and Adblock Plus (gets rid of most annoying popups etc)
Also found that when you go full screen on flash videos, you should turn the phone to the correct side of landscape so the video doesn't have to flip 180 or 90 degrees and there be a chance for it to freeze; sounds odd but a really buggy old flash page kept freezing when I went full screen the wrong way but loaded normally when I used the correct method.
Coming from the GNex, seems like Samsung's software is a little less forgiving then Google's unfortunately so steps like this seem necessary for the moment.

I just tried Firefox Beta again. Still blows. There's no full-screen, no homepage, no way to keep "request desktop" permanent, no way to access tabs in the full-screen add-on without turning full-screen add-on off, accessing tabs, then turning full-screen add-on back on again.
Desktop by Default seemed buggy and not always on.
Although Firefox was blazing fast, they've got a long way to go options-wise before they can compete with other mobile browsers.
