Is it possible to download the BBC programmes from the Iplayer website to the Tab for later viewing. I am able to to do this with the 7inch version but dont seem to be able with the 10.1 16gb wifi version, as there is no download option selectable on the website. This is even when both tabs are visiting the same websites.

Hi,
I've had no luck trying to get a live stream onto HD2. When on the BBC website: Opera doesn't support Flash and IE just times out without getting a picture.
What's the best way to view F1 please? BBC show live streaming via the 'red button', can we get a feed from that perhaps onto phone?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Pete
You can do it by opening opera on your phone, typing 'opera:config' without the quatation marks into where you put the address. this gives you what looks like a webpage, and if you scroll down it says 'User Prefs'. CLick on this then scroll down to 'custom User agent', which has a box underneath where you have to enter 'HTC_Touch_HD_T8282' (again without quotes). As far as i understand this tells Iplayer youi're using a different version of Opera, the one from the Touch HD, as the HD2 version isn't recognised.
This comes from a great thread with loads of tips on it which you can find here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638
Check it out, for most of it you'll need to know how to change registry values. You cn find that information on this forum or google easily enough, i knew nothing before.
alternatively put android on your SD card and use that, you get a higher quality stream on that and it streams the video directly i the browser.
As far as i know both methods work only on WIFI, and i can't take credit for any of this, all other people's work!
Hi will,
Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. I already had this reg tweek setup as you need it to watch BBC iPlayer (which works fine).
The trouble is, that with the BBC feed, they do it via 'flash player in a web page' (and not directly through the iPlayer). Even though I have tweeked the reg, the BBC website page for F1 (on HD2 via Opera) still shows the error message, "The media player requires Adobe Flash 9 or higher."
I'm not too keen on putting Android on SD card but I guess if there is no other way of watching it via WinMo then that's that.
Thanks again for your reply.

Pete

How about using manila TV (TV Tab) as in Omega ROM?
Just upgraded to HoneyComb, thanks to Globatron, but I cannot installed any BBC app the news or the iplayer, it says the flyer is not compatible.
Has anyone else seen this at all ?
Thanks
I got the same message when i tried to put hc on my view!! Can we get some custom roms just for the view?
I am assuming you mean BBC iPlayer, because the news apps are fine on my HC Flyer. But be more specific because BBC has like 10 different apps. Some developers, such as HBO and BBC are way behind the times. Their apps are not compatible with Honeycomb. Look for tablet versions of the app, although I know there is no HBO GO tablet yet, which is pretty stupid on their part since the experience would be a lot better on a tablet than a phone.
checked today and the official BBC news app is now downloadable for HC on the flyer.
Other BBC news apps are third party I was talking about the single BBC authored one.

i had that with all browsers except builtin hc browser, maxthon, dolphin etc all seem to make bbc iplayer page state "phone not supported".
builtin hc browser doesnt but that has problems with sound sync for me.
mind adobe airs just this minute updated itself so sync might improve, dunno, android still leaves me bit cold compared to my years learning windows.
Nothing to do with browsers....
BBC iplayer app
Had another look today and I still can't install the BBC iPlayer App from the market place.
I have a rooted wifi only UK device running HC. I had this before the upgrade, has anyone got the app to install on a HC flyer yet ???
Thanks in advance
A new BBC iPlayer app update has just become available in the last few days.
I can not verify it will work on HC as I have downgraded to GB for this and other reasons but I suggest someone now give it a try on HC.
Hi, I picked one of these up the other day, really impressed (£100 in Hmv).
First, just incase people don't know this machine, out of the box (on Froyo) has a brilliant iplayer function, where if you use the Dolphin HD browser (desktop mode) on the iplayer website you can download shows directly (through wifi) to the machine so can watch on the go.
Not many portable devices allow this, but it's something I always look for (old Nokia phones, and the Galaxy tab (original) had it, I don't think that it's that we'll known a function, may help some folk.
Q... Okay now here's my question... Any uk users know whether I would lose this function if I updated to Gingerbread ?... I know the 2.3.6 is kind of official in Europe, but maybe if I use Odin to install it I may lose the iplayer function ? Maybe it might reject the license acquisition if I use a Eurpean update ?
I have never been into roms, rooting etc, but would like to try if I don't lose the iplayer.
Thanks
Probably not, I don't think there's any difference in the video player. Backup the stock video player using Titanium (once you have rooted) and then install whatever you want.
Hi all
I have an Archos G9 running stock ICS 4.0.4 (Android 4.0.3). I have installed the BBC iplalyer app and can watch videos from the BBC iplayer website so there is no problem with Flash etc.
The problem I have is when I launch the app it doesn't run the app instead it takes me to the BBC iplayer website(I cannot post the url) . This is not whatI want as you can not stream live tv from this site.
I have done the obvious, reinstalled the app, cleared internet cahes etc, even contacted the BBC, and of course seached the net.
So two questions; the first is can anyone use the app on an Archos G9 and if so what do I need to do.
It is very annoying as my 7 inch resistive tablet running Andoid 2.3 works fine with the app
Thanks in advance
Nothing you can do.
New version of iPlayer app coming soon; hopefully it will allow us to stream.
BTW I can stream from the site : have you installed their new Media Player plugin?

Hi
Thanks for rapid response
Yes I have the Media Player app too and I can watch programmes from the website so if I go to say yesterday and select "The Paradise" that was broadcast at 9.00pm it will play fine
What I cannot find on the mobile iplayer website is where to stream live TV shows, if you can do so could you explain how
Also, if you have the iplayer app, does it also take you to the mobile iplayer website
Thanks
Yes the iplayer app just opens my browser to the iplayer website so I uninstalled it and use a shortcut instead.
Sorry I didn't pay enough attention to the OP so missed your request for live streaming.
For streaming live TV; search Google Play for "filmon"
Use either 'Filmon online TV' or 'FilmonX'; I can't tell the difference between them.

Hi
Thanks for this, at least I am pleased it is not just me !!
I have installed Filmon onlineTV and it does just just I want, in fact as it does so many channels it is even better
Thanks again:good:
And I just installed the long-awaited new version of the iPlayer app :
Features include:
- Watch live TV
- Listen to live radio
- Watch or listen over Wi-Fi and 3G networks
- Scroll through and find Featured and Most Popular programmes
- Add programmes to your favourites and have them ready and waiting when a new episode or series is available
- Browse through the schedule for upcoming programmes
And yet for me, the app still only serves as a shortcut to bbc.co.uk/mobile/iplayer
Sad.
Yep I was disappointed as well - just got a 23" touchscreen running with a small android box (Minix Neo X5) to go in the kitchen to do all sorts.
BBC site claims they have issues with screens bigger than 7" (or I guess higher resolutions) that they hope to fix. Not sure what problems they are but maybe someday!!
Anyone know of a side load us in north America can download this. I would love to have this for top gear. Do you Need a BBC account?

Hi guys,
I must stay in Germany for quite some time and have only German Amazon Prime Membership at the moment.
I am looking for a way to use Amazon Prime Instant Video in Germany on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1n with Firmware 4.0.4, but am not able to see any videos at all.
I tried to install German Amazon App and than Amazon Instant Video App. They install without any problems but I can not see any video (the apps stopp suddenly and I am returned to my home screen.
Does anybody know of a workaround to use Amazon Instan Prime Video in Germany?
I am really annoyed with this problem as I can see German Amazon Instant Prime Video on my Huawei G750 Smartphone on the same internet access point (same IP address), but I can not see anything if I am using my Samsung Tab 10.1n.
Any tipps?
THANX IN ADVANCE !
