Hello!
I owned an Diamond (but the Screen has gone) and now i got the Blackstone (HD). But one Thing i really miss, are these LEDs the Diamond had in the Key-Area under the Display. These LEDs were flashing when i got a new mail or SMS or phonecall when the device was in silent mode.
Now on the Blackstone there are no LEDs down there (?) only the single LED where you switch the Device on - it indecates if it is charging.
Now i just ask is someone would like to make a simple App that turns the LCD in an LED :-D I mean that the Display blinks when i got an SMS. Not always, but perhaps blink once in 5 seconds or so or fade from off to white and then back again. it should still save battery if possible.
More suggestions would be that the user can choose in the app for which events the LCD is blinking (SMS/Mail/MissedCall/LowBattery/CalendarAppointment/...). also different blinking types for different events could be possible.
I just wanted to share the idea because i couldn't find such an app an i would love to use it.

while using bluetooth my phone sleeps.. and now its not turning on i cant access any functions its just like switched off but the green colour led notification is there.. i dont know what to do??.
am using minicm 1.02
I sometimes have this issue with letting the battery die. best thig i found is to plug it for an hour or so and go back to it
When this i777 goes into "sleeping" state and the screen is dark, about every 2 minutes it will blink the lock screen for about 2 seconds and then go back to dark. Is it defective or a setting which controls this?
I would think there's a app for that.
Get better battery stats, is in the market, or if you Google it with "xda" you should be able to find the free version for xda members. That will tell you what apps are causing wake locks. That's where I would start. I've never seem mine do that.

Thanks for the input.
I booted the S2 into Safe Mode and saw the blinking ceased. So I rebooted normally and started deleting apps in reverse order of install and found the guilty party. It was an "alpha" program version and I notified the author.
Everything continues to work fine.
Hey,
I've searched around, haven't found a very good answer for this. I like to read ebooks at night, but the backlight on the screen remains on even if brightness is dimmed as low as possible, and it's way too much for me to be able to fall asleep. On my old phone (windows mobile), I could disable the backlight completely. I did find the setting where the backlight turns off after X seconds, but I can't find a way to manually tell the phone to always keep the backlight off.
Anyone know of an app or setting I can use to do this?
Thanks!

Use the "Screen Filter" app from the market or google play store whichever version you have. It is just what you are looking for I use it all the time.
Tried out the screen filter app last night - it's better than nothing, but it seems to work by adjusting the color temperature of the screen, so the backlight remains on. (I can tell because the 30 second backlight turn off with no activity still happens). Thanks for the suggestion. Any other ideas?
Since our screen is led there technically is no backlight I believe. So color tuning is the closest thing to dimming it. I like voodoo filter a bit more, doesn't distort colors as much to me.

Settings > Display > Sleep (Mine is set to 30 seconds). Before it goes to full-on sleep, you can clearly see that the backlight turns off for a few seconds, but the LEDs remain on.
Yea screen filter app is your best bet. Works well for reading/saving battery at night in emergency situation.

Screen filter app is going to be your best option. The samsung Vibrant has an OLED screen so it actually has no back light. The pixels display the color and produce the light.
So i recently purchased a Galaxy S6 and i find it really annoying at night or any time if my phone's Blue LED just randomly turns on for a random app or game notification.
I've gone through the settings but it doesn't allow much free control because the two switches that allow for the LED to turn on it comes with:
Led will turn on for: Calls, Charging, Message, Notification etc
I just want it for charging.
Anyone know how do to this?
