ok so i found version 11.11.11
anyclue how to use it?
i can see at the bottem it detects the phone but thats only in pst usb mode and the MA is either 7500 base chipset or 7500 base chipset w/android but even then none of the settings seem recognizable vs other programs
You might want to contact MikeJ92YJ. I saw he posted a tutorial on this on another forum.

Is there any root method for free wired/wireless tethering? I know there are the apps that do this but I rather not go that route
Free no not without rooting or paying for an app.

....I am rooted, sorry forgot to mention that
Follow these steps each time you want to wireless tether for free in this exact order.
1.) Open the mobile hotpot that came with the phone and enable it. If this is the first time running it, configure the hotspot how you like.
2.) Go to your phone dialer and dial "*#*#4636#*#*" without the quotes. This will access the phone testing menu.
3.) Go to Phone Information.
4.) Scroll down and tap "Turn radio off"
5.) Now tap "Turn radio on"
6.) Enjoy your free wireless tethering!
Remember, you need to perform these steps each time you want to tether.

I already tried this after reading it elsewhere and confirmed it works. It's not going to screw up your phone if you try it if that's what you're worried about.

just use wireless tether if you are rooted wireless tether is the best.

It's weird though because the wireless tether app, no matter what version I download wont offer infrastructure mode, only ad-hoc. And some of my devices are only compatible with infrastructure.

Easy and free wifi hotspot
I spend most of my time lurking, but post every once in a while. Here is what I did:
If it's rooted then you can use Google's Wifi tether app for free.
Install v. 2.0.7
I bought my DX2 today and had it rooted with Gingerbreak and installed this, and it works for me. No problems. I miss being able to talk on the phone and use data though (from last phone).
Hope this helps!
It wont let me post links. Hmmm. Go to:

Hi check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1080490
first post is link to the orange file, go to page 16 and download the t-moblie one, once done write both to your phone (orange 1st t-mobile 2nd)
hope this helps.
Thanks for such a quick response lonegunman.today I downloaded Rds lite and a sbf but when I tried to flash it said failed so I tried to use Motorola update put it in RSS mode and get same error when it'd 18% through update and comes up with sec_sector Febe 4e.4e .I wouldn't mind but myhome key button doesn't work and I have lost my Motorola Widgets.I'm worried my dock wont work with webtop anymore as I've lost the webdocking feature when I connect it.feel like slitting my wrists....lol only joking but its really getting me down now any other advice or is it an insurance job?! Lol

Have a read round as stuck on 18% update does ring a bell to me,can't help to much as working now but I am sure the phone can be sorted.

RSS lite still not working properly could it be because I'm using 64 bit windows 7 PC? Found now I have no folders on my internal memory!!! Help please someone
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Could be a 64 bit problem, i used a 32bit windows 7 and it worked ok but some have better luck on xp, have you tried recovery again?
Yes m8 I've tried everything. And now I've noticed all the folders on my internal memory have gone its empty. I don't know what to do for the best do you think if I act dumb and take it into T-Mobile shop they will be able to send it off to Motorola to wipe and reinstall original software as I said when I try to wipe it ..it says sub sector exception blah blah blah and stops the software update.I'm losing my marbles over this one I have read around and people are saying flash with orange uk then T-Mobile over top but I can't even get RdS to work lol
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
And when my phone is off and I put it on the dock to charge it turns the phone on and locks on the first boot screen when I lift it off green motor sign comes up and gingerblur kicks in .....strange!?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
rsd lite works fine on 64, make sure you have the motorola 64 bit drivers installed: http://gitbrew.org/atrix/
rsd lite 5.0 definitely works but there is a v 5.3.1 that people are using but havnt tried myself.
download the t mobile sbf here:
http://www.fileserve.com/file/XNePGN2
this one is a service sbf so you should wipe your data using android recovery, or you can just flash the orange uk sbf which is a full one so you wont need to worry about wiping data:
http://www.fileserve.com/file/pqGGUst
read this guide to get an idea how to flash, read it carefully:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991072
and i wouldnt bother with gingerblur etc as they are based on the at&t rom
also sending the phone back in its current state would be a very bad idea, it wouldnt take a genius to work out youve messed it up yourself so they probably wouldnt fix it for you
Try as the post above says, short of that if you near one of us maybe we could have a try.

So i know there are other options available like Matt's Utility but it's been a curiosity of mine as to why every time I try to use RSD Lite(Regardless of whether I'm going to. 744,.748,.173, or .181) it fails and it says:
Size data returned by phone does not match what was expected.
Any input would be appreciated.

Are you starting with phone on, in PC mode, USB debugging and allow mock locations on the starting rsdlite?
Maybe try Matt's RAZR utility 1.6.

I put the phone in AP fastboot mode. Not sure why PC Mode,Debugging and mock locations would matter.

well the security settings on the computer should be the same as the phone or vice verse, wpa on phone should be wpa on computer, etc. and password or security code should match
also, did you run diagnostics, to test connections or repair
The diagnostic said unable to determine or fix error. It only won't connect for that phone, all others we have tried work fine. Already replaced it once due to this issue.

It's your security settings and not phone. Set it to Wep 128 and should work for you.
If your computer connects to other phones' hotspots with the same security settings, then there might be a problem with this phone. You can try clearing the hotspot app's data to reset any settings you may have changed, but if that still doesn't work, I suggest getting a replacement phone. Sounds like a hardware problem to me.

So, I've run into a bit of a predicament. A long time ago, I rooted my Razr on ICS. Perfect, loved it. After some time I started flashing ROM's. THis also went perfectly, that is until I tried updating to JB. I messed with the phone for a few weeks, decided I was fine on Simplex, and have been living with it like that ever since. Now, however, I can't boot into my stock ROM. In fact I deleted the entire system via SafeStrap, but I'm able to get into my Simplex ROM and everything works fine. Now I need to know if I can just download the update file for JB and flash that to the main ROM slot via SafeStrap, or if I have to SBF/Fastboot/whatever the phone. I've tried Fastbooting through RSD and through Droid Razr Utility 1.82 but to no avail. Is there anything I can do or am I just stuck on Simplex forever?

It doesn't necessarily fail, but after it completes the first step and says "hit any key after screen turns on" it just sits there and says "waiting for device." toggling the cable works, but I'm weary of unplugging it while it's going through the process.
