Clockwork to TWRP - HTC EVO 3D

My search feature hasnt been working good and i need a little bit more detailed help then google is giving me. i recently bought a new evo 3d (for 150!! ) but the owner before me had rooted it im not sure what method he used but i do know that it has hboot 1.50.0000 and it says "shooter xc ship s-on RL" Its running clockwork mod as recovery and i want to switch to twrp (im sure clockworks fine just not a preference) i downloaded the twrp file and renamed it to PG86IMG.zip but it says main version is older? what do i need to do thanks for you help

Is it the CDMA (Sprint) version, or GSM version? Because last I checked TWRP isn't compatible with the GSM version.

I have the same issue at the moment with mine, CWM isn't too bad.

HTC Unlock only works with Clockwork recovery based on what I read on different forums.

It all depends on which handset you have, I presume it's the HTC Evo 3D and therefore the latest stable CWM is 5.0.2.0, if this is not your handset this link should guide you to the answer http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager

Ok I found this link for, it points out that there is a few bugs with cwm 5.0.2.0, and recommends a different version for your Evo 3d, it also explains how to flash via fastboot.

Htc wildfire cdma "bee"

Hi Guys!! I'm looking for solution to make a recovery and create a custom ROM for HTC Wildfire Bee? I'm new to Android and ROM developing but I have plenty of time to work on it right now just show me the right direction. I know there are two RUUs available for the Bee right now, Alltel and C Spire. Maybe we can make our recovery and custom ROM off these two RUUs?
Another question is, my phone is from Cox. Can I used the custom ROM -once we successfully created a ROM from Alltel or C Spire to my phone?
Thank you so much!!
Hello! I found the firmware on the phone to Android 2.2 HTC Wildfire A315c (HTC Bee) that the description is identical to the HTC Wildfire 6225 / ADR6225 (HTC Bee) but the flash does not work because it did not fit the phone ID. Can anything be done about it?
Sorry for translate.google.com
i have made a custom recovery here for the bee, hopefully rom to come

Dear sir:
I have a A315c cdma mobile which is updated by htcdev, its hboot version is 1.41 and is unlocked but with S-ON, how can I use a CM recovery?
thanks.
I can not update PD06IMG.zip, it tells me wrong zip file or image.
in fact my A315c file is PD0611000_Bee_CT_hboot_1.41.0000.exe.

If you have the upgraded hboot that says locked then just skip the pd06img.zip and continue to unlock the bootloader from htcdev. then you can use fastboot to flash clockworkmod recovery.

[Q] Bootloops when flashing roms with hboot 1.4 s-off

I've been trying to flash some of these new roms such as Cool ICS and SolidRom MyUI, both to no avail. I am on h-boot 1.4 with s-off. The last successful rom I had running on the phone was ICS MIUI. I had tried flash these roms on ext4 initially, then I tried twrp and both without success. Any tips/suggestions to get one of these roms to work?
Do I need a newer h-boot in order to flash these newer roms with newer kernels? If so, then how/what do I flash without losing s-off?
Well here goes nothing...going to try jbear's 1.58 hboot.
I still get bootloop after installing Cool ICS...
Getting bootloop with SolidRom MyUI as well. Could use some help please.

Yup, did a full wipe for prior to flashing every new rom. I have actually gotten SolidRom to work after installing the ICS firmware update img, but I still can't get Cool ICS to work.

If you are s-off then this should be easy to fix.
Some HBOOTs can only work for certain firmwares.
So if you want to run a ICS rom, you need to upgrade your hboot to either stock hboot 1.58, or Jbear's 1.58.5858
To upgrade your hboot, download the correct hboot from ramjet73's post here then rename the file to PG86IMG with the files extension as .ZIP
Place that on the root of your SDcard and boot into your bootloader. Accept the update, then restart your phone.
***EDIT***
I wasn't correct on some of the hboots and got some mixed up with the gsm EVO, for more info on hboots go to the link which ramjet73 has posted below.
I HOPED THIS HELPS!

Then there are the newer firmwares that everyone has been having a fit over, 1.50, 1.58.0000, 1.53, 1.58.5858 (this is the Juopunutbear's custom hboot)
Those are the hboots that run only SPRINT/VM ICS roms.

You might want to read through this thread to get the correct information on CDMA hboots. Most of those you mentioned are Sprint bootloaders (the only VM bootloaders are 1.57 and JBear 1.57.5757) but 1.53 is for GSM phones only.

[Q] stable Cyanogenmod 10 stuck at bootup

Sorry, I posted this thread in wrong location..
Hi folks,
this is my first post on XDA. I have a Sprint htc EVO 4G LTE phone which was running on JB.
Thought of root and flash with CM. So, first I unlocked the bootloader using htc dev and installed TWRP custom recovery and then rooted.
Then I flashed the stable CM 10 then flashed gapps which is compatible for CM 10 version. so far so good. oh, btw I did nandroid backup before flash and also wiped to factory reset, cache and Delvic cache.
After the flash i clicked on reboot system and I see the Cyanogenmod boot, but its stuck at that stage and I waited for more than an hour. No luck.
Thank god I did back up before this, otherwise not sure what I'm gonna do.
But, could someone tell me why it gets stuck at this point. I know some of you guys had this problem. I searched everywhere but didn't get help. I thought of posting this in android development forum, but as a newbie I can't do that.
Please help me out.
P.S: when I'm on boot screen (power button + vol down button) I see unlocked at the top but I also have TAMPERED in red color on top of that. Was this normal? or do you think that is causing the problem? and what should I do now?
If you're on Hboot 1.15+, you need to flash the kernel separately from the ROM if you're S-on. Click the link in my sig for further info.
The tampered warning at the top of the bootloader screen is normal.

You are right. I must flash the kernel and I did. guess what? It got flashed and after CM boot the next screen is language setup and my touchscreen is not responding at all...only the power and volume buttons are working..
I had a backup so thought of going back to it and I restored to it. It is not even booting up. My phone stays at htc quietly brilliant screen for long time and then splashing screen 2 times in a minute or so and then restarting automatically.
I have no clue what to do at this point.
I had Jellybam ROM saved on my sd card so I wiped my phone and flashed it. after rebooting it got stucked at htc boot screen.
I'm thinking may be the kernel doesn't support the Jellybam ROM. Is it?
How can I change the kernel?
How can I use my phone now?
does Jellybam requires separate kernel to flash it?
can you recommend any ROM's which includes their own kernel?
any help is greatly appreciated.

The stable download is an ancient version of CM. Circa 2012 ancient. IRC = Internet Relay Chat. There should be a sticky on this forum for how to setup and connect to IRC. Latest build can be found there.

If you're on the latest OTA (Hboot 2.09, baseband ending in 1210) you can only run ROM's based off the latest OTA (software version 3.16). This is due to an upgraded touch panel driver, which is why your touchscreen doesn't work. You can gain S-off and downgrade the driver so you can run AOSP ROM's, like CM.
Most Sense ROM's include a kernel installer to simplify the flashing process when S-on (MeanBean & ViperROM, to name a few). Just follow the instructions in the OP for whatever ROM you're wanting to flash.

Like I said, you can install a ROM based off software version 3.16. That will get you up and running. As far as S-off, you'll have to use Dirty Racun, which can be found in the link below.

After gaining S-off, head over to Captain Throwback's firmware thread in the development section. You can download the 3.15 touch panel driver there. The link to his thread is below.

Thanks @ FinZ28
I flashed MeanROM_3.09 and its working perfectly. Nothing wrong with it, except I felt like its not a custom ROM. I meant its nothing but htc sence with some extra. I was looking for ROM's which should be like pure google interface. ex. CM, clean ROM etc
I know I have to downgrade my firmware and S-off, but looks like my doors were closed. I'm a windows user and all the support was for Linux. (I decided to learn Linux ) I can get this done if I find any guide on doing S-off on windows.
Can you suggest any ROM's which will work on my device and which should look like pure google?
btw, I took your suggestion and tried installing ROM's based off 3.16. like JellyBam, cleanROM. JellyBam not even boot up and cleanROM having trouble with touchscreen. Not sure why.
This is my device config
Device: HTC EVO 4G LTE

Android version: 4.1.1
ROM: MeanROM_3.09

Viper ROM has a "senseless" opción, when you flash it you can choose in the aroma installer this and it should remove most of sense or whatever is safe so you have the stability of sense plus some kind of pure google look by choosing nova or apex... Glad you got it fixed, try to get s-off using moonshine, as far as I know is windows friendly you just have to UNINSTALL HTC SYNC, and since you already rooted and unlocked I'm sure you have adb and fastboot in your computer and that's all you need! After that you should be able to downgrade your TP driver and use all the AOSP roms, man is great and now with Halo it's even better... Good Luck!

[Q] How to Remove Cyanogenmod & TWRP from HTC EVO 4G LTE

Hey Everyone,
This is my first actual post on xda but these forums have helped me with many things that have come up with during my time with Android
I recently installed CM 10.1.3 RC2 for my HTC EVO 4g LTE and couldn't find a good guide to going back to the stock software that I had before. Nothing is wrong with CM but I just prefer sense for this device.
To install CM I unlocked my bootloader with HTC DEV and flashed twrp 2.4.1.0 according to CM's guide. I installed GooManager for access to the twrp bootloader but from their I'm confused as to how to revert back to stock htc sense. I downloaded the latest RUU for my device so if anyone can help me out that would be great. Thanks.

You can flash a Sense ROM. There are quite a few to choose from. If you want to go back stock and unrooted, you can run a RUU. If you're on the latest Hboot, you'll have to S-off and run VipeRUU to get you back to stock, since there is no RUU for the latest OTA.
Also, there is no such thing as a "TWRP bootloader". TWRP is your recovery

No. It's a "stock" ROM, not a RUU. If you truly want to go back completely stock, get S-off and then use the tool in the link below. If you simply want a stock-feeling Sense ROM, check out the development threads-there are plenty.
Here is the link to VipeRUU. You must be S-off to use it.

It would also be helpful if you posted your Hboot and radio (baseband) version.

Just use the VipeRUU and don't mess with your phone as its happening. ( you won't be able to use it for 30mins+ during the process.
