Has anyone been able to rollback to gingerbread after installing honeycomb? Or been able to downgrade hboot to 1.11.0003 to get s-off after hc?
There is a big discussion on this in the development thread. So far no one was able to roll back as far as i know.
Correct. Right now it is not possible.
really? man can not roll back?
No. Not yet.
rollback
After I installed hc I went back to htc bootloader unlock website and it says that we are unlocked with s-on because we are only allowed changing of boot, recovery and system files not radios or anything else. I wonder if revolutionary plan on s-offing the new bootloader?

Yes you do have to relock.
I did not relock my phone and it updated without a problem. Just went back to stock rom and stock recovery then checked system updates and was suprised when it worked since everyone was saying that you had to relock.

Can you get the radios from a ROM that has them baked in, or is that not how it works?

I've attached what you need, courtesy of MrSmith317. If you ever do need to relock you'd just need to get another unlock token from HTCdev to unlock again.
But you will most likely end up needing this for some sort of flashing at some point.
I think you only have to relock to run the ruu. You shouldn't have to with the updates since they are flashed in the stock recovery. The ruu being flashed through hboot requires relock.

So you have an unlocked phone and you want to get the OTA, correct? What ROM and kernel are you running?
That error you got, was that trying to run the RUU? Which one? 1.x or 2.x?

What version RUU did you use? 1.x or 2.x? Did you try running it while the phone was locked? It needs to be locked when you run RUU. But you also can't go back to an older mainver and some ICS ROMs are on 3.x
Also can you check what mainver your phone is on? In fastboot type:
fastboot getvar all
running 2.0.1 and wrong RUU i guess since its 1x
Yeah, you need to run 2.x RUU. Get it from link in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22045045&postcount=58
That should fix you up. Then after you run that and get the OTA, unlock, flash Amon Ra (there's a new version posted to that thread today), go to the developer menu in Amon Ra and install su and you will be stock OTA rooted.

Still can get ICS on phone
Sorry first time using a message board. Not an android noob have modded alot of devices thanks to your help here never had any issues doing what I want to get done.
Having troubles with this step.
PRE - have stock kernel and rom back on phone also
Relock phone (fastboot oem lock)
Use the Hasoon2000's tool
Commands - Relock Bootloader
phone reboots - shows phone is "Relocked" below that "Warning" cyles thru options in Bootloader
Managed to re unlock phone and get back to normal but still can not load ICS
Make sure you have the ICS RUU placed on your EXTERNAL sd card and rename the file to PH85IMG.zip. Once you re-lock the bootloader make sure it boots to HBOOT and not Fastboot (the screens are identical). Pressing the power button once will do the trick and it should install the ICS leak from there.
Is there a way to downgrade htc hboot 1.58. I have tried the live cd tool, but when i try to brick my phone, the hboot says file is older than main verson or something like that and it makes me reboot. Please help. I really dont want to HTC unlock, but will if i have to.
You can S OFF on Hboot 1.58

Running the RUU will not downgrade. If it did why would they have had to make all of the complex steps to downgrade from 1.50.
Is there a way to make the RUU see the phone as a lower h-boot version without root access by tweaking the RUU exe. just a thought.

Like a previous poster responded, get s-off using the wire trick. It only takes five minutes once you setup. People who have done it wish they would have done it sooner.
Look the bottom line is if you want to go back to H-boot 1.40 you need to S-off.
Countless people in this thread have said that and you refuse to accept the fact your stuck on H-boot 1.58 until you S-off.

Download the 1.4 hboot, rename the file PG86IMG.zip (case sensitive) and place it on the root of your sd card. Make sure that the ROM you are running will boot with the 1.4 hboot first. If not, boot to recovery and flash one (the reason I suggest this is if you have an hboot 1.58 ROM on there and flash the 1.4 hboot, you'll get bootloops). Then, boot to bootloader and have it "update" to 1.4. Reboot and remove the file from the root of your sd card.

Bricking the phone with S ON will cause it to enter emmc mode in which an Hboot can be flashed.
But he should change the main version to the lower one before attempting to brick it.
After flashing the hboot, device will have been unbricked, but RUU still needs to be flashed.
It is possible, but whether there is a guide for this or not, I don't know; nor do I know if it is practically possible either.

Flash the GB RUU and it will update to ICS after the install. If you flashed the ICS leaks then you need to S off so that you can get back to GB. Getting S off is very easy. I would recommend it so you can flash all the new roms.

What happens when you check for a new update? Does it sit there for a couple seconds and then just disappear and not say anything? Or does it at least tell you that "there is no update available"? I had this same issue on the GB update: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1469246
basically what I had to do what activate my SIM on another rezound and then put it back into my original and it started pulling the updates.

Yes, as famous said above. (But according to Con you should still be able to boot now. I don't remember if I ever booted with that warning, I doubt it as I was probably relocking just to run the RUU and had no need to boot up.)
I edited my post above, you must have quoted me before that showed up. Once you run the RUU the security warning should be gone, then you can unlock again and flash a custom ROM if you like.
