[HELP] Serious Problem with My SGSII - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've got a serious problem with my smartphone SGSII. I wanted to get rid of the custom ROM I sued for some several months, Lite'ning ROM because something strange happened after the last update 6.1, my battery it was drained in 1 day without using the phone or something. So I decided to get back to the original Gingerbread rom, factory settings restore. SO I restored to the factory defautl settings, wipped via CWM all the user data and then still had the Lite'ning ROM installed. I used Odin and flashed the latest original ROM I think but when I start the mobile it's turning off and on again by itself.
I really need help and support to solve this issue. I want my original OS/firmware back. Can't use Kies because of the phone I can't turn it on.
Thanks in advance.

Factory restore = restore to last flashed rom = Lightning .
Boot to recovery wipe dalvik cache wipe cache Factory restore flash stock rom if needed via Odin .

You can't remove everything just from the dialer. You're going to have to flash the original firmware. And wipe. I hope there's someone who'll articulate.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy SII with XDA Premium
I wiped all in original recovery mode and flashed original Samsung XWKDD.
But "power off" the phone does always a restart.

Every Theme I load Causes Bootloop?

Trying to install themes on the S2 and everytime I keep getting bootloop no matter what theme it is. Tried an ICS and also the Ultratoxic themes
What I am thinking of doing is a wipe data/ factory reset in ClockworkMod mode then load up the Rom via Odin and then flash the theme
Will this work or does the wipe data also delete the back ups created with CWM?
Anything else that maybe causing boot loop?
On UltraToxic Rom and latest Siyah Kernel
The bootloop might be caused if you use a SystemUI.apk/Framework different than the one supported by the ROM.
Clean Slate for those that balls up the firmware .Or need to return to service or decide if its hardware/firmware problem .Or even just to clear out old roms etc .
Backup data first if phone is working .
Boot CWM recovery
Mounts and Storage
Format cache data system sd card .
Remove battery
Boot to download mode
Open Odin
Install correct stock firmware .
Still problems use usb jig to set rom counter to zero .
Return to service centre .
Or throw in the Liffey .

If the theme is not made for you rom, then you get bootloops.
If the theme is made for you rom and you still get bootloops, wipe the cache and chances are it will boot.

[Q] How to remove a ROM so I can flash with a different ROM?

I flashed my S2 yesterday with CheckROM and I like it and everything but I'd like to try MIUI today but I'm not sure how I would go about this? I think I may have to wipe my phone (already have a backup from before I flashed with CheckROM) and then just install MIUI like I did CheckROM? Correct me if there is another way or I'm wrong.
Just go into clock work recovery, wipe data cache, flash miui.

By formats system do you mean wipes everything or just cache?
Let's see.......
You wipe data, cache but your phone can boot, because the OS remains.
You wipe system OS got removed, you can't boot phone.
Wiping system is the cleanest flash you can do.

Endless Boot loop, is my phone bricked? any solution?

i get an endless bootloop, i flashed a new firmware to try and fix it, but to no avail, any solutions?
do you think its bricked? i mean it powers on, i can access cwm, download mode
i tried this also
. Start your phone in CWM Recovery
2. Go to Advanced
3. Choose "Wipe dalvik-cache"
4. Now go to "Mounts & Storage"
5. Choose "Wipe /cache"
6. Reboot your phone
if the problems still exists after doing that and you're sure it's not related to the rom, then you need to do this:
1. Start your phone in CWM Recovery
2. Now go to "Mounts & Storage"
3. Choose "Wipe /data"
4. Choose "Wipe /cache"
5. Reboot your phone
to no avail. lol. i guess i will have to be buying me a new s3
(other roms wont get past boot loop also)

Endless Bootloop no matter what I do...

Hi Everyone...
Today, my phone froze while playing radio from InTune so I took out the battery and re-booted it.
It seems that it was not in a bootloop .....
I tried wiping cache, etc.. and still it would not work.
I tried re-installing a backup, even tried installing a fresh rom over top..... Nothing...
No matter what I try, Wiping, or re-flashing a new rom, it just wont get out of its bootloop.
I hope my system partition is not damaged.... because the internal SD is fine.
Im was on Turkbey v17 with my own mods & theme w/ Perseus Kernel 32 .. Everything was working perfect till now.
Anyone have any ideas?
Via recovery Format sd card data cache system preload .
Boot to download mode flash stock rom via Odin .

Hi,
Do this, this wipes ALL of your data!
- Flash a stock Samsung ROM
- Go in recovery mode, reset your device.
If this doesn't work, then it's very probable your device is broken.

Thanks to the both of you!
I backed up my internal SD content and then reset my phone from Recovery also formatted everything...
I Then installed stock rom - (which still had bootloop) - I formatted the entire thing again & did a Hard reset.
Then I took an old recovery backup and flashed that in CWM.... That did it! It now is working with last months backup.
It seems like the system Cache was completely corrupt and only a full format & reset would fix it.
Thanks again guys.
Problem solved.
