I have SGS2 GT-I9100T and I wonder if I can change its rom to a custom rom without worries ?

I have a GT-i9100M and have rooted it and flashed a few kernels to it no problems. I did try to install VillianROM and got a boot loop. But after I went over the steps I figured I did wipe properly, but you can definitely root and flash kernels for the GT-i9100 on your phone just use the ones that fit (KE1, KE2, KG1, KG2, etc.) for your phone. I will try flashing Liten'ing ROM once it's bugs are fixed, looks like a really easy flash to the phone.
Play around with it, if you try to flash VillianROM even if it's not for you you will gets ClockworkMod with it to backup and restore which restored my stock rom perfectly and easily (my first root and custom rom ever).
BTW, is GT-i9100T the US version of the phone? I just got the GT-i9100M (Canada) and find it's lacking support that the GT-i9100 version get. I'm wondering if there's a way to get GT-i9100 supported games and apps to work on these phones or if I'll just have to wait for them to be supported..?
My GT-I9100T is the Australian version. A friend of mine tried to change the rom (I'm not sure to which one of the customs), and it worked for him, the GT-I9100T on the boot screen changed to GT-I9100 (without the T) and he says that for now everything work flawlessly. So I guess there is nothing to worry about.

CF-Root does the same thing. Must be in the kernel.
Each and every ROM, be it a Stock or Custom has some bugs in it. As long as you are using a Custom ROM from a recognized dev you are good to go.
I am not a fan of Custom ROM's anyway, and never use them

I found some info on the T model and it suppose to be with a better reception and less radiation on the 850 band. Could it be just karnel tuning ?
I'm pleased with my rom, but I have to remove some of the carrier garbage.
try villianROM 2.1 it's pretty awesome haven't faced any issues

But to answer your question (this time), i9100T is different in the sense that it has slightly different hardware (the radio/modem/phone). It has lesser radiation. There however shouldn't be any problems flashing any of the i9100 roms as I've been doing so since I got my i9100T.
i got my bluetooth error.. the problem is cant pairing to other device..and sent or receive file.
but my phone or other phone,can see bluetooth device each other.
i use stock GB 2.3.4 fw 42,xperia mini,rage kernel v.3.
anyone can help me?

is there any method to fix this without flash other rom??
im personally like stock rom.. its minim of bug..
I see you have Rage Kernel, so you have rooted your phone.
Have you removed any system apps at all?
Or done any modifications to the ROM, other that custom kernel?
What phone is the other one, you are trying to pair with? Does it happen with all other phones or only some?
I have 2 Xperia phones, both running .62 and both can send/receive via Bluetooth,
Why still runnin on .42? It's ok to prefer stock but at least update to latest .62 version!

i tried to intall kitkat roms that avilabe on Xda fourms
but whenever i install one of the rom ..there is no network, i have checked the imei and its corret
i tired to flash modems and still the same problem
and tried Getril apk from goolePlay store and its not working also
and tried to install 2 others stock roms and also the same problem
still there is no network when i flash a cutsom rom ( kitkat) so please can you help me

Never flash RIL on custom roms, you will break network.
Have you tried flashing an original samsung rom to see if network works? maybe your board is broken..

you misunderstanding my problem!!
i have SG2 i9100 stock rom 4.1.2 ok network is working good
... i tried to install a kitkat rom
but when install the Slim rom or cyanogen rom or other roms ,, i have no network . . i checked the imei and its okay
with the stock rom i have no problem
only with custom roms
so what do you think the problem is ????

Are you sure you are installing the correct version? Have you tried reinstalling the custom rom(s)? I'm pretty sure that the custom roms use the same modems from the stock rom (doesn't install a new one). Is the network settings ok? Is there any signal strength? Please let us know your answers.

yes i tried to reinstall the roms many times but no signal !! at first boot the signal appears for 1 min and then says ( emergecny calls only) the imei is there / i have checked it
stock rom is working good without issue ..
network settings are ok ..

Emergency calls only? This seems really strange. Assuming that your sim is still activated, you shouldn't really be experiencing this problem. If you changed the modem to a different one from the original, I would highly advise you to flash back the original modem (since you have changed the modem).
That just dont makes sense, the only explanation to this would be a rom with a broken ril

as i told you .. i was have stock rom working wothout problem

it installed correctly but no network and the imei is there .
so can you give me a way to flash a kitkat rom for SG2 I9100 stock 4.1.2 ?
i flashed another stock rom its work well
but when i flash a kitkat rom over it , same problem no network?

Honestly I don't know. I never saw such a problem before, I don't know what you are doing wrong because all the kitkat roms for i9100 have a working network for a year I think. Make sure you are following the installation instructions correctly :good:

i'm totally sure i followed the installation instructions , but can you give stock rom 4.1.2 for my S2 and a kitkat rom you test with installation instructions ??

Well the stock rom you can get from sammobile and flash with odin, talking about kitkat I'm personally using the CyanogenMod 11 M12, network works flawlessly, but I also recommend @Markox89 linaro/sabermod builds because they rock (and have working network haha)

This is my first time posting a thread in here. I need your help.
My phone is Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100.
Baseband version: I9100XXKI3

I rooted my phone By using Odin3-v1.85. and flashed the recovery to cwm 5.x (i can't remember version) and tried to install custom ROM OMNI
(omni-5.0.2).
I accidently downloaded and installed OMNI for i9100G version. But my phone is i1900 version.
(I downloaded this omni-5.0.2-20141222-i9100g-HOMEMADE.zip ). i forgot to backup previous ROM .
Then i was unable to Turn ON my phone because every time i turn it on, it come back to recovery it self (it's a bootloop i think).:crying::crying:
then i flashed the recovery to CWM-KitKatCompatible-i9100 (version 6.0.2.7) and installed custom ROMs and tried (PACMAN,CM,AICP).
It works fine. everything is just perfect. But i can't make calls or receive.
It says "Mobile Network not available". when i call my phone from another phone i hear ringing it. But nothing shows in my phone. after few seconds i got a Missed call Alert. But this happens only sometimes. All the other times. i cannot call it from another phone.
I tried reset and flash modem using CWM as well as from odin. but no luck.
Please Friends Help me. I don't know whether i put this thread to right section or not. sorry about that.
I did all of these things by surfing XDA forum (as a Guest). And i'm happy about what you guys are doing. Keep it up.:good::good:

You might need to reflash stock rom, then try flash custom rom again.

I reflashed to stock rom and it's working fine.
But i tried to install custom Rom again but no luck there. I was again stuck with Mobile network problem.
May be the problem with kernal.
Any suggestions???

You will have to flash stock 4.1.2 rom or try a 4.1.2 custom rom. The problem may be caused by the drivers in the built in kernels but I'm not completely sure.
No mobile network on custom roms
I have already flashed the 4.1.2 jellybean rom but 4.1.2 rom also havr bugs. Lock screen doesn't work, I had tried hard resetting but it doesn't solve the problem. I Want use 5.0.2 hazy , cynogenmod, pacman , dirty unicorn, etc and other many custom roms but I'm facing same problem no mobile network, other than that everything work fine....

You mean stock 4.1.2 rom? That's very weird for a 4.1.2 stock rom. Maybe an android 4.2 or 4.3 rom?
You are saying that I should try 4.2 or 4.3 custom rom??

use another baseband version. I use XXMS4 and I recomend it.

Yep.
I am having same problem with the network connectivity. It happens with all custom ROMs that aren't stock based. I am stuck with Chameleon ROM which is a hybrid and has a stock samsung base. It is a great ROM but is outdated. I would like to upgrade. Any solution to this problem is welcomed. = D
Okay I think I got a solution here. The procedure is:
1) Make sure you are on a stock based ROM or other ROM where your network is working.
2) Backup EFS.
3) Flash custom ROM of your choice.
4) Restore EFS if there is no network.
Done.
To restore efs, you can use any app tailored to do so but for me it didn't work. I followed this thread:

Follow the steps carefully and you will have network in any ROM you like. Hit thanks if helped.

EDIT 2: Even though my network is back, which confirms that the problem was with the missing IMEI. I found out that the IMEI I got now is a fake one. Got to get the real one back now..

Hello everyone. I came up with the idea of making a colletion of basebands for I8730/T Models. I already have some installers scripted, with the basebands we most use. These zip files are flashable using a custom recovery You can expect some Odin flashable archives too sometime, as they are easier to make
I recommend using TWRP that you can find here (Now it is officially supported -> try this one)

Hey, I'm using CM 11 on my GT-I8730, the messages and phone calls are allright but I'm having problems with my GPS. Do you think that installing a baseband would be useful? If yes do I need to wipe my data and everything before installing it or I can install it without wiping anything? And which baseband would be the best?

Not really... Basebands are only radio images for the cellular data, not even wifi uses them. You can try to do it

Our roms are made for I8730XWAMK1, I know some brazilian users who flashed I8730XWAMK1 and can get it to run there. I know that most European countries share similar basebands. Baseband is just a "firmware" for the cell phone radio (not FM radio, but cellular data radio). Flash it, you can flash it before the rom, between rom and gapps, or after. It doesnt really matter, since it is a different part of phone But before flashing, please tell me your current baseband, so I can make an installer for it, in case something goes wrong

The GPS has nothing to do with Basebands. This is part of integration in the ROM, if you are using Ressurection Remix like me, GPS never worked. In CM13 builds, GPS worked before 08/07/2016, I believe
Bootloaders
Released I8730XWAMK1 and I8730XWANE1 odin tarballs. These include bootloader files and they don't increase flash counts You can update your bootloader, but this will also update your baseband, so be careful
I understand the I8730XWAMK1 is recommended to get rid of the "Fast sound" issue, but is it not specific to some region(s)?
I'm in the Netherlands (Western Europe), does that matter?

I am from germany and just freshly installed TWRP v3.0.2 and Nightly 20170328. I have problems with calling. Echoes and everyone including myself have a very very deep voice, almost like a devil. Does any of these fix my problem?

Pardon for very late reply, yes they do fix the problem. I8730XWANE1 or I8730XWAMK1 should work fine.

I am a happy user of CM13 on our phone, everything is working fine, thanks for all the great efforts!
However, when I try to switch to the new LineageOS system, the voice during calls will get az echo effect and also the mobile data connection is not working. I've flashed several baseband images (including I8730XWAMK1 and I8730XWANE1), even unrelated ones, but no success. Now I'm on CM13 with I8730XWAMK1, and it is perfect. I am from Hungary on the carrier named Telenor.
I would be very happy to use the latest LineageOS on my phone, but this annoying thing prevents me from it.
Do you have any clue about this?
