[Q] Replacement battery - HTC EVO 3D

Has anyone had any luck with replacement batteries that come with an external charger? I see a few on Amazon but curious what you guys thought

Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

I bought the anker one's from ebay. It was posted at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16718161.
I didn't receive them yet so I don't have any input about it.
PS. Thanked you by accident, enjoy.

Just bought the Chichitek 1930mah...2 plus the wall charger for 29.99. So far, very impressed. 14 1/2 hours with moderate usage and still over 60%

Seems like the general consensus is the Anker and Chichitec batteries meet or exceed the OEM mAh rating. I'd stay away from the rest on Ebay, except OEM.

Another vote for Anker. I haven't tried the Chichitek.

I did a stress test on the anker, which... I guess it tells me the min amount of time I can use my phone straight for.
lasted roughly 1hr 45min with GPS, wimax, max brightness, WiFi tether on. I had the camera record for roughly 45 mins with flash on, and played some 3d golf.
Though I turned some stuff off during the 2 hours because I didn't want to look my phone.
Has everyone switched to the new battery, or are you still using the original one.

OK so I'm going to give my infuse to my little sister next month and get the Samsung galaxy s 2. But i want the best replacement battery i can possibly find. Who know of the best battery and the most hours or mah that will still fit into the regular cover.

[Q] Whats the best battery?

Hi all,
at the moment, my hero sprint (I think this is the proper name) is running on the factory 1350mAh battery. I am pretty content, but I am reading about 1800mAh batteries that should live a lot longer! But on the batteryboss.org I see most are just rip-offs.
Whats the battery of your choice? What are your results and: where did you order it?
I am more than open for all advice about this subject, as long as the battery fits in the stock opening. I do not want my hero to become any bigger than is is
htcheroblog.com/2010/02/14/mugen-power-1550mah-3200mah-htc-hero-battery-review/
Read the five pages and it should give you an idea as to which battery (if any) you want.
Unless your away from your charger for more than one night then the standard htc battery should be sufficient, although I personally have the huuuuge 3200mAh battery which is amazing and lasted over 40 hours for me even with wireless and gps pretty much constantly on. Hope that helped

I also have a 3200 mAh battery and its lasted 14 days on minimal use! That's how good the Hero can be! I use the stock Battery for day to day use though as I get 2 days out of it usually.
I use 2200mAh purchased from Clove uk (part number is HTC-BATEHEROW-B15).
My battery goes down to 60-70% after a day use, WiFi on all time and quite a lot of calls.
It used to go down to 20-30% with the orginal battery.
The real good thing is that the phone has now taken an extra 5mm of thickness and this extra bit makes it much much easier to hold on my hands.
The cover color is real white and does not match the white Hero color, no big deal.

I dont expect many will have a much higher capacity worth buying if you dont want to add depth to the phone soory
If anyone is interested the Clove batteries (2200mAh) are only £7ish delivered to the UK now!
It may be a pricing error? no idea, either way Ive ordered!
Only available in white though... but almost twice the power for less than a 10er! Im in!
(I will probably cover the back cover in stickers anyway... its what all the Apple people do so its easily acceptable for a Android user to do it lol)
I also bought one And thank god i ahve a white hero
i bought one too...
Well my order just got cancelled by them because apparently they arnt in stock (even though they have been on the site listed as 'in stock' for the past few days) and they have removed the item from the site!
Havn't responded to my email asking if my money has been returned either!
Very professional...

and i've been using the phone quite a lot, including a couple of full wipe-flashing-backup
I have a 3200 mAh battery somewhere. But I really don't like the bulky back. When using Froyo, I had to use it as my phone wouldn't survive 12 hours with the stock battery. Now, running Gingerbread, a 1500 mAh battery I bought from DealExtreme for 5 USD lasts about 20 hours normale use.
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/3-7v-1500mah-rechargeable-li-ion-battery-for-htc-touch-pro-2-35632
You do have to cut away a little bit of the plastic though. But they are cheap, I've got two of them now, one in the phone and one charged in my pocket.
I think this is as big as it's going to get without having to replace the backdoor?
How about sun global battery? Does anyone of u use it before?

Can anyone link me to this clover batteries for the Hero, please?
Digging up old thread but just wondered, has anyone used those 1550 mAh replacement batteries.
I'd like to buy one from ebay but i don't know if it is worth it.
Thanks in advance
There's 3200 mAh, 2200 mAh, 1550 mAh, and the stock 1350 mAh batteries.
I have the 2200 mAh version.
Its only $13.75 USD and is smaller than the 3200 mAh version.
It comes with the back case and lasts almost twice as long as the stock battery.
I wouldn't spend +$79 on just a battery. I'd rather buy 2 2200 mAh batteries. Cheaper and easier to carry.

It's well-known Mugen is the best ;-)

I got the Mugen.
It lasts really longer, something like +40%, so on stock battery and GB my phone was dying quickly after lunch - but now upgraded with Mugen and debloated 4.0.3 - at the very late night.. ;-)
However the indication isn't very precise. The charge indicator drops from 100% till 90% within the first ten minutes after unplugging and further then descends till 0% pretty slow.
I bought 2 "Replacement batteries for HTC Evo 3D, HTC Amaze 4G, HTC Sensation 4G" on Amazon.ca in January, and the batteries have "REPLACEMENT FOR HTC EVO 3D" written in big bold letters on it. The batteries do fit in my Amaze, but they would turn the phone off completely when it was saying 15% battery life.
That pair of batteries came with a battery charger which has been good. I've since lost one of the batteries though. I'm looking into buying new ones. Here are my options (in Canada).
1) 2 Anker batteries that claim to support the Amaze with a universal charger (I can't post a link because I'm new, but theres only 1 Anker battery listing on Amazon.ca if you want to search it)
2) Call 1-888-617-1113 HTC Warranty support and ask them for a new battery. Apparently they give an extra battery for free. I'll likely do this anyways, but I'm not sure if they do this in Canada.
Can I trust the Anker batteries? Does anyone know if the batteries shown on this listing are the right ones for the Amaze? Thanks

Calling this number gets you a free battery as long as you send the old one back. If you don't send in the old one within 15 days your credit card is charged $40.
I know if you complain to T-Mobile they can send you another battery for the processing fee of $5. Of course you need a valid reason. Hopefully the new HTC one will fix some issues.

Amazon.ca Item Number B005B3RFTU fits the Amaze. Just received mine yesterday.
I'm cautiously optimistic - I charged one of these fully with the external charger and have been running it unplugged for 20 hours (9 hours sleeping, 11 with light / moderate use) and am still at 56%. I've not yet calibrated or "conditioned" the batter as per Anker instructions (full charge / deplete 5 times) so I fully expect the phone to die any minute now... or in the next few hours. I'll report back in a few days when I know more.
Edit: I realize that the user I replied to already has these, but I'll check in later anyway in case others are wondering.

The batteries I've tried were only andida and Hyperion . The andida battery gave me 2 to 3 hrs more than stock, stock battery lasted 15 hrs moderate use . The hyperions weren't so great. They would drop from 100 to 75 in about 45min continuous use but after that I would get about 10hrs of moderate use. I could kill the Hyperion in 3 hr of continuously usage. But be carefull wen charging non OEM batteries on phone do not leave them charging over night one time I woke up and phone was really hot to touch and would not turn on untill I did a battery pull.

so then would you say the anker battery is worth it? havev u heard on the mugen battery?
Yes, the Mugen is a better known brand but way more expensive for about the same mAh. I haven't heard as much about it around here as I have the Anker.
So I just about have the Ankers conditioned and have come to the conclusion that they are far better than stock. The idea that stock is 1730 mAh and these are 1900 mAh is odd to say the least. I'm wondering if a pile of the HTC batteries that everyone has are somehow rated wrong or defective.
After conditioning (fully charge in the external charger / fully deplete in the phone X 5 - seems like overkill, but I'll stick to it) I'll calibrate. I'm expecting that calibrating will improve the run time significantly, because as it is now, I can reboot the phone (usually into recovery), and upon reboot, I get a higher reading. For example, after using the phone for 10 hours, the battery reads 40%. Reboot into recovery says 60%. Reboot into the os gives me 60%. I expect a calibration to mitigate this.
Calibration: Charge with the battery IN the phone with the phone on to 100% / led goes green, unplug, turn off via recovery power down. With power off charge till led is green, uplug, fully boot, turn off via recovery power down again. With the power off charge till led is green once more. This process improved the stock battery, and I expect there to be an improvement on the Anker as well.
After all this is done and I get a chance to stress it for a few days I'll know more.

3.7v is not the right voltage for our phones, which ALL the aftermarket batteries are, this is really annoying to me... and I have since lost my OEM battery, now I don't know where to purchase a new OEM... I am sick of the mis-readings with the anker, I have calibrated this thing and while I do get decent battery life, I don't like that if I forget to charge it BEFORE I go to sleep so I can unplug as soon as it's green, then I wake up to a hot phone, and if I can tell my phone is hot through a Trident Kraken case, then I'm quite sure it's not good for the phone or battery...
so anyone know where to purchase a genuine amaze oem battery?

Anker portable AC/DC wall charger w/ 2 batteries, 14.99 in US from eBay! MANY PICS!

Hello XDA. Another post to try and help the community. I just received my order from eBay and wanted to share.
So I decided to buy some extra batteries to have on hand so as not to run out of juice. In the process, I also wanted a separate charger to keep them charged. To my amazement, I found the Anker charger WITH 2 replacement batteries for $14.99 shipped from a California seller!
I also ordered a Hyperion desktop dock that has a built in charger for an extra battery. This dock should arrive later this week but also a California seller off eBay! I'll post when that arrives.
Anyway, back to the Anker. Packaging is nice. It's in retail packaging as if it's sold in stores. Comes with instructions too! The charger is universal and can charge many different styles of batteries. It also has a USB port to charge another item while it's charging battery. The other nice thing is it will charge from a wall outlet OR a car charger! The mini USB plug is also on the side with the USB port. I'm not so sure on the charging pins however as they seem a bit thin and will require to be lined up every time a battery is inserted. The pins slide from right to left to allow for different size batteries. That's another issue. The battery for the Note is so big that it has to sit off to one side to allow for the charging pins to make contact.
The batteries are also retail packaged and come with instructions. They are White in color... Matches my Note.... And seem about the same weight. They are listed at 2500Mah but I have yet to try them out for longevity.
There are many pics I've taken to try and paint a picture as to what you'll get if you decide to order. Hopefully this will help someone who may want or need them. Any questions, let me know!
Here goes:

The seller is laptopmate_usa. I have no affiliation with said seller nor can I vouch for them but I will say, shipped fast and free. They have a great feedback too. I figured it might be faster for anyone searching for this deal if I gave the name of the seller.
Hopefully these items will work and provide long lasting performance. If not, it was only $14.99.....

let us know the life for one full charge plz...
I got something similar for my Xperia Play last year. I only wanted the charger but it came with two batteries and was only £10 or £15.
I expected the two batteries to be useless but here I am a year later still using them, sometimes for weeks at a time as my primary battery as I tend to charge my phone a lot so it helps keep the official battery good for longer.
The batteries are of course not as good as the official one, probably around 75-80% as good but I have been very happy with them so far. So even if these batteries are similar that is money well spent in my opinion.
i got it at amazon at the same price 14.99$ (2 batteries and charger) with GUARANTEE 2 days deliver! i'm a Prime member. maybe due to popular demand, they raised the price to 16.99$ on amazon now.

i just use it like any other battery, charge it and use it.
after i got these inexpensive batteries, i havnt use the original samsung battery!
these anker battery last me the whole day just like original samsung battery. (i charge it when i go sleep).
the only time i swap battery is when phone battery is getting low or i forgot to charge it.
I also bought this same Anker deal for my Galaxy S -- off the same guy. They seemed to work as well as stock, though I didn't do any testing. They were supposed to be 300 mah bigger then stock -- I didn't notice a diference. Funny thing is it was more expensive for the batteries for my Galaxy S that are smaller then these haha. Anyways I'm not a huge fan of the charger. It says in the manual to not leave your battery charging for more then 24 hours, so I assume that means it continues to charge the battery after it reaches 100% and you'll want to take your battery off as soon as possible to avoid degradation. The charger is also made for any battery so it has these awkward sliding pins you have to set on your batteries + and - each time which can be a little annoying. Other then that, great buy.

I got these from a seller on Amazon for 8.99 I think it was. Couldn't go wrong. I actually get better life from these than my samsung battery!
Well, first charge cycle was in the 10.5 hour range with 3:25 minutes on screen. Charged it from %1 overnight so lets see what day 2 brings. I leave the wifi on as well as GPS and I'm in an LTE area with so-so signal. My average life is 12-13 hours with 2.5-3 hours screen so if I get the same oit of these, I'd be just fine with that.

Ok well charge cycle 2 is complete. About the same results. 12 hours total with 3:15 screen time. This was what I was getting with the original OEM battery. Off to cycle 3!

Just received Hyperion 6200mah battery

Just got my Hyperion 6200mah better from Amazon for about 20 bucks with shipping. Used a dremel to mod my otter box defender like in the other threads which worked wonderfully. Currently doing the initial 12 hour charge cycle. Will post updates to battery life during the first four or five cycles and then do a final update once the battery has been broken in after the initial max to min cycles. Hadn't seen anyone else post any stats or review this one yet on here. I have an anker 6200 on the way as well so I will compare the two once I receive that one as well. Decided to test these two before taking the plunge on a 106.00 mugen 6400. Hopefully I won't have a reason to buy the mugen after these two are broken in.
Cool, hope the battery is good
Would you mind posting a link for how to mod the defender, im interested but cant find the topic
Thanks

I don't think it tells you an exact process on how to do it but has pics. The way I marked for my cuts was to put the Hyperion in and place the back cover over top, lining it up exactly where the tabs fit in then flipping it over carefully and picking the phone up letting the battery come out exactly where it sits in the battery slot. I then used a marker to trace around the battery and used a cutting wheel attachment to trace the guide marks then smoothed the jagged edges from the cuts with the flat edge of the wheel. After that, I just placed the modified back into the backing of the otter box hard shell making sure to line it up exactly and then trace the opening of the stock back and then cut the guide marks with the same cutting wheel and just kept sanding down the edges of the cuts until smooth. Hope this helps
Unplugged the phone after the twelve hour initial charge at about 10:30am and have been constantly browsing the Web and downloading with live wallpaper and screen at max brightness. It is now 3pm and I am at 91% battery. I received my anker 6200mah today and have it on charge so once I drain the Hyperion all the way I will be starting my test with it also. Getting bored of messing with my phone but I want to try to drain this battery so I can try the anker tomorrow but I don't know if I will be able to. Maybe I will just loop a hi Def movie for the rest of the day or something. I need to fully charge and discharge 4-5 times to get the battery to max capacity but at this rate that will take forever lol. Will keep updating as the day goes on. This battery seems to be a beast so far though

Play the game Tower Raiders 3, that drops the battery level at a pretty alarming rate! The SiriusXM app is a close second.
Please do a review of both of the extended batteries once you get them all settled. Im sure its a pain to run that much battery down multiple times, but thank you for doing it!

Will do. I only posted this here because of the other post about the anker. I have been constantly playing games and Web browsing all day and I have only gotten it down to 61 so far. I'll start a thread in accessories to update from this point forward once I have everything broken in and have been using the phone as I normally would. When I'm working and have the phone on me and don't get to use it that much, I'm sure I will be going for a couple of days without charging but we will see very soon.
Have u got anything close to my 50+ hours on and 12+ screen time. On the second charge ????

Just got my hyperion in and installed. Quality is better than what I expected for the price. Also got the tpu case in however the case seems to not fit as tight on one side of the phone.
Pretty darn good value and quality for less than $30. I'm excited to see how long it will last me. I never have wifi so my usage won't be as good as some but I'm still optimistic.

That's fine and that wasn't a"Oh wrong section" comment. I was actually trying to find a review for somebody and couldn't but had to search general and accessories because you never know. But I checked accessories first because there's where it should be. So all I was saying is to put the review where it should be so it's easy to find.

I am only on the initial charge on the anker but I have had the phone on since about 8 this morning and have been using it as I normally would at work and it is now 5:36 and I am still at 87%. Loving it so far. Btw I did start a new post in accessories but I will keep updating both I suppose.
I can't help but wonder how Mugen and Seidio get away with charging what they do for batteries....

Anker 1900mah battery

After holding off forever on my launch day evo3d and getting sick of having to charge my phone at work and potentially missing a call from the wife in an emergency I decided to buy an anker battery. Holy cow. My tired nearly 2 year old battery was definitely worn. Before I'd get around 1 hour and 45 mins of screen on before I'd have to charge. I'm currently at 1 hour 12 minutes and have 71 percent left. Earlier today I stressed it and got to 2 hours 46 minutes screen on and was at 51 percent. Definite improvement. When ICS first came to our phones I noticed a big improvement over battery life and I've strived to get that back changing ROMs kernels etc. Finally bit the bullet and got a new battery.
Point is: if you are getting poor battery life and you have over a year old battery get a new one. I don't trust most batteries listed but this anker is good in my book. I will keep this thread updated for a while. Once I upgrade this phone will be my 3 year olds phone for playing bowling and other little things that stimulate his growing mind.
Well. Running latest dastin cm10.1 with buttered toast 16.4 at 1188 max iland xondemand I'm getting around 2 hours 50 minutes screen on. Usually around 30 percent at that point. Trying not to drain this battery completely. Either way, happy as hell with my phone battery life now.
Well my phone isn't over 1 year old but I feel the need to have atleast a second battery as a backup for LOOONG trips etc.
Since I tried the bulky battery packs from some friends and I found them terribly unpractical despite what the internet has to say about them, I would only but a battery that fits the stock case but offers bigger capacity than the one that comes from and it won't be a battery that is so bad quality that it's performance will drop in like one week, so I was considering Anker. My question is, is there any -PROVEN- to be better (capacity and quality wise) than Anker even if you have to forget completely the price? I'd be happy to spend a little more on a larger capacity battery that is good quality as far as it fits the stock casing.

Mugen Power batteries are usually considered the premium solution for cell phones and this one that fits the Evo 3D with the stock cover claims to have a little more capacity than the Anker model. I don't have either so I can't really give you any feedback on that, but for $46 on Amazon I think I'd rather go with the Anker two pack and charger for $30 on Amazon or the EC Technology equivalent for $18 on Amazon and pocket the change.
Edit: Here's a review of the Mugen Power battery by an Evo 3D user.

Thanx, this was exactly what I was thinking. Also since the battery is not tested I don't want to do experiemnts with my money for just 50mAh...
I've recently purchased a MugenPower 1950mAh battery for my Evo 3D. I's supposed to be delivered some day in April. I will post the results of the usage as soon as I get it. One thing must be said, it's not a cheap battery. But I just want to forget battery issues on my Evo and enjoy a whole day playing with it!
I've this on (the anker).
I would say it's quite the same perfomance as the original battery.
I got a pack of two vor 10€. Awesome price in my opinion.

Where did you get it so cheap? Send me PM please.
Also looking for replacement battery, as right now I charge 2-3 times a day on the stock 2 yr old batt.. curious about Mugen Batt, but anker seems tested and proven.. for $30 you get 2 batt with charger at amazon.. Hope the Mugen users out there comment about it before i can order the anker for comparison.
Using Ballistic cases, so bulky batt aint no option..
I've been using the Anker 1900 for a 1 1/2 months and it's excellent. I'm running DU 4.2.2 ROM with Mirage kernel. Speeds are set at 384/1188. The stock battery after 2 years would be darn near dead half way through the day with moderate use. This Anker lasts me the entire day with the same usage. I'm on twitter, web, calls, texting, taking pictures, and game here and there. There's been many nights when I plug it in with 30% or so left. I'll take a look tonight and get times, etc and post back.
I got my Anker yesterday evening. 8 AM this morning, i took my phone off charger and 12 hours later I'm on 48%. I'd say my use is moderate. Wifi is always on, mobile network on, lots of calls and some internet browsing. Pretty good for first charge. Oh, and my CPU is OCed to 1836MHz. Guys at Anker really know what they're doing
14 hours on battery with 3.5 hours screen on and still 28% to go
Don't know if anyone's here been using RavPower. I have heard quite a few times these days. Checked on their amazon store and find that their price is cheaper than Anker, what about the quality?
I just picked up the Anker battery for $17 on Amazon. Although capacity rating isn't much higher than stock I find that it definitely holds a charge longer and the drop off isn't nearly as fast. I'm on stock rom with MiRaGe kernel and a light user so I already get good battery life. But for the occasional trip I found that I can't get through the day on a full charge. So the anker give me some improvement without added bulk of a high capacity battery and for the few times I need it I now use the stock battery as a backup. At this price I would recommend picking one up.
In my opinion Thema Anker battery is Worth every Euro, just because does a way better Job than The Stock htc battery. Maybe it was just because my evo is a Bit old, but i Had to Charge it every 8 hours with Stock Rom which should have one of the best battery life. With my Anker its about 20-24 hours with regular usage

I use my phone a lot, sms and facebook.
And I can't really get through a whole day. 10hour, even 4 if me and my gf have a lot of time.
Will this have any improvements on me or just 1hour+ ?
And what about this:
http://www.amazon.com/EC-TECHNOLOGY...599&sr=1-89&keywords=anker+battery+htc+evo+3d
DOnt mind giving 10$ if it will work for atleast a year or maybe half.
