I think he means that it isn't actually unlocking. It says that it's sending the unlock token, but the unlock process that should then start on the phone was never initiated..
(if this is what he's talking about, the same thing happened here.. I had to backtrack myself and do everything over from the start before it would finally unlock it)..
Good luck
Did you run the latest OTA to ensure you are on hboot 1.5? I hust got a replacement phone from Sprint over the weekend and it came out of the box with hboot 1.4. I don't think the official HTC unlock method will work unless you are on hboot 1.5. If you are on hboot 1.4 then you can unlock using the revolutionary tool.
First, this doesn't belong in this section, you should have posted in Q&A.
Second, this has been answered before in the thread about unlocking hboot 1.5. I believe you have to flash the 2.08 RUU an then unlock. I'm on my phone now so I can't link you, but I think it's the first thread linked in the Sticky Rollup thread.
If you aren't on 1.5 as another member mentioned, then don't take the OTA an update your hboot to 1.5. Go to Revolutionary website an unlock that way. It's much easier in the long run as you'll be able to flash radios since you'll be s-off with 1.4, an you'll still be s-on with 1.5 even after unlocking.
Good luck

Hi..
I had the same problem. I fixed it by first doing all OTA updates (I had to do this twice to completely update the phone) and then using this:
RUU_Shooter_S_Sprint_WWE_2.17.651.5_Radio_1.06.00.1216_NV_NV_spcs_1.42_release_233304_signed.exe
And installing right OVER the v2.17.651.5 that the phone currently had. Strange to have to do this, but when done, the HTC unlock worked like a charm.
EDIT:
This is it:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/c19...216_NV_NV_spcs_1.42_release_233304_signed.exe
In looking for a download link to your ROM, but I don't see anything. Or a change log, is this ICS????

Listen to this guy. If you have HBOOT 1.4, DON'T TAKE THE OTA UPDATE! Use Revolutionary. If you have 1.5 already, I can confirm that installing the RUU should fix the problem.

Right. My post is assuming you are on v1.50, which is why you had to go the HTC unlock route in the first place (like I did). Obviously if you are on 1.30/1.40, you do NOT want to do it this way. Use Revolutionary if on less than 1.50, use the method I posted if on 1.50.
Downloading that new Rom Now...When I woke up this morning I did the HTC update and then it downloaded a 9mb system update...then when that was done I did it again and got a 29mb update...now the Phone is at v2.17.651.5 which was now more updated than I had before.. and downloading the rom link that was posted. It should work after that in theory correct?
I already have the BIN unlock I received from HTC. would the same file work again or do I need to get a new one because of the new updates I flashed to the phone.

I would get a new one just to be on the safe side (that is what I did). It should work fine after using the RUU update over the updates you already have performed, so yes, it should work fine.

If your running and RUU.exe, you should relock your bootloader "fastboot oem lock". After that run the RUU.exe from your PC to bring your phone back to factory. Then you can install the OTA's. I did this the other day.

Did you get a new token file for your replacement phone?
I would submit the file you capture from your phone and get a new token again just in case something went wrong the first time.
I "re unlocked" my phone after 1.58 using the same binary file I had from when I previously unlocked it.

Thanks for your reply, I just tried getting a new token again and still haven't been able to get the unlock bootloader option to pop. I've actually requested a new token three times now and and still nothing.
Just to let anyone else know that might have this same problem, i was able to fix this by running the RUU found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827712

Ok, the fact that is says sending with 0KB would seem to me that it is not actually reading the darn .bin file.
Now this might seem stupid, but we are shooting totally in the dark here.
First, I have my folder that has adb and all the other files in the root of the hard drive. It is called rootevo, just to keep the folder name short. While it usually should not matter, I knew we would be running adb from a command box, and that can sometimes cause issues with folder and file names longer than 8 characters.
If the phone is booted, plug it in and you should be able to type "adb reboot bootloader" and the phone should reboot to the bootloader screen. If this works, I would try and do the unlock process again. Make sure you are typing in the name exactly as it is named in the folder.
The other option would be to boot straight to bootloader after a battery pull. Again, not sure why it would matter, but you have a strange one here, so the fix could end up being equally strange.
Good luck!

While this process shouldn’t be too risky, bricks can happen. None of us will be accountable. If you are worried, don’t do it.
This is a pretty simple method, however, you will need to have a working adb and fastboot environment. This method will work on any operating system that supports adb and fastboot. You should understand how to use a terminal window in your O/S. If you don’t understand adb and fastboot, you probably don’t need S-off.
Lastly, the work herein should not be stolen, repackaged, one clicked, bat’d, etc. soffbin3 is not GPL and may not be reused, integrated into other work, reposted, or redistributed without our permission.
For this to work, you must be rooted and have superCID (unlock/custom recovery is optional), see the threads below for help and information regarding obtaining superCID, unlock, root, etc. Note these threads are provided for convenience only. Please look for support for them in each respective thread if you need it, do NOT clutter this thread with support requests regarding obtaining superCID and/or root! If you try this process without superCID, it will not work, and you may have issues!:
SuperCID for HTC Evo 4G LTE:
Code:
adb shell
su
echo -ne "22222222" | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 bs=1 seek=20
1)
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
2)
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
(wait for black HTC Screen)
3)
Code:
fastboot flash zip PJ7510000-EvoLTE.zip
After a while, You should see the following error “FAILED (remote: 92 supercid! please flush image again immediately)”
7) Immediately issue the following command:
Code:
fastboot boot EvoLTE-rescue.img
(this is fastboot boot, NOT fastboot flash!)
8) Allow device to boot (may not fully boot on some custom roms)
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
9) You should see what you are looking for!

Probably worked on 3.16 for you as you already had supercid, I'm guessing the recent 3.16 update prevents changing the CID.
I dont think so because we've never used CID on this phone before. Only way to find out is to test.

What is the solution?
you need to get a new Unlock_code.bin file from htcdev.com, Something has changed older code won't work.
Hi all,
I just tried to unlock the bootloader of my Desire 610 through HTCDev but it does not work for me.
I type "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin" and confirm with volume up + power button that I want to unlock.
E:\fastboot>fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin

The phone restarts, does a hard reset but when I go to bootloader to check, it still says "Locked".
Weird because I do not get any error message. The entire process (10 steps) goes straight forward.
It just won't unlock no matter how many times I try.

You need to be in the same directory as the Unlock_bin. You can tell from the amount of kbs it's trying to transfer that it's an empty bin.
Redownload the bin, and cd to the same directory.

Hi.
So, somebody unlocked it?
P.S what model are u choose on HTCdev, htc one or other models?
Cheers.
He advised me he used the " Desire *" method, however the star indicates that it flashes the bootloader from the original htc desire to your device. Until we get confirmation that nothing is broken and it actually works as intended, I cannot yet recommend this method. If you're in dire need for some reason, feel free to try it, but don't hold them liable if something goes wrong. I'm in contact with htc dev team right now awaiting a response on the proper way to unlock. If I get no response, we'll try this method perhaps.
Yes, I managed to unlock it with HTCDev. I used HTC Desire* as device.

So, now we can push superuser and install cwm or twrp trough the adb using for example, strawmetal guide, right?
Cheers.
If you wanna try that method, I suppose. We don't have an official method for any of that yet, nor do we have a recovery build to flash or a way to flash superuser. Nor do we have a way to elevate adb to root to allow that installation yet.
So in essence, no. But if you're willing to risk your device also, try the unlock method Nixing used lol.
Confirmed
Yeup using the HTC Desire* has done the trick after hours of searching last night I decided to use the HTCdev way and it worked 1st time no problems !!!!!!! next up Root...
Good deal. I'd still avoid that though, and use the "all other supported devices" instead. The star means it loads a different bootloader. The desire and desire 610 are not the same device, and that could be very bad. The all other supported devices option does not load a new bootloader. Unless perhaps they go by the device unlock code you provide and it can tell you don't have a desire.
Fair enough...I have successfully rooted my device too.

I´m having no luck
tried both
Desire * and
"all other supported devices"
Code:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
< waiting for device >
sending 'unlocktoken' (0 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.138s]
writing 'unlocktoken'...
(bootloader) unlock token check successfully
OKAY [ 0.010s]
finished. total time: 0.148s
Still says *** LOCKED ***
