What does this do?
This is simply a graphical front end to the_laser's Windows batch files, with the added questions to prevent accidental device bricking.
Can I use this without having to downgrade to 2.1?
Yes, but make sure you follow 9Lukas5's guide here. Just disregard the third bullet point and use my program instead
How hard is it to use?
Not hard at all. Just click the big "Unlock Bootloader"* button
What is the point of this?
For people who don't like black backgrounds and white texts, but feel more comfortable with GUIs
Will you release the source code?
Now? No. In time, yes. Why not now? This is just a quickly developed application and the code is rather embarrassing at the moment
Do you plan to further develop this program?
Indeed I do. I plan to make it a nicer GUI, implement automatic kernel flashing (for those who use 2.3.x), and much more robust. As aforementioned, this is simply a quick mock-up.
Download:
VERSION 0.1.1:
Download the attached file below, "x10_bootloader_unlock.zip", or by clicking here.
Changelog:
Code:
0.1.1 (11/09/2011):
- Fixed ADB errors.
- Fixed "Bootloader" misspelling on button.
0.1 (10/09/2011):
- Initial Release.
Announcement:
Dear members,
My priority is the X10. I apologise if you feel left out because of this. However, have no fear, because as soon as my implementation for the X10 is complete then the X8 (and other devices) will soon follow (like, almost immediately)
Regards,
Mayazcherquoi.
PLEASE REPORT BUGS. I HAVE NOT TESTED THIS!!!
* Please ignore the spelling mistake on the button

What about phones previously unlocked with SETool/Omnibus? Is there some kind of detection in the program?

It will ask if you have unlocked it via SETool or another method. If SETool, it will execute the appropriate code. Otherwise, it will show a friendly little popup box saying that it won't do it because it will risk your device

handy tool for X10'ers ,nice work appreciated.

For those who haven't unlocked their boot-loaders yet and want to, can you please try this program? :s I have a feeling it will freeze when it is waiting for your device to be connected... :/

For users, please bare in mind that this tool does exactly the same thing as the batch file! So take the same precautions as you would, this just adds some security checks (questions) to prevent accidental brickings and gives you a "one-click" unlock solution!
Thanks

I was gonna wait till more stuff came out which took advantage of the bootloader but oh well ... do I have to downgrade the kernel etc?? or is it just plug in and press button kinda thing?
Edit: Ah dm didn't read fully

Hi! I have an idea! X8 and X10 mini can also unlock the bootloader now. It will be great to add the support for x8 and x10 mini in your tool!
And this is the tool for x8 and x10 minihttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254525

stock kernel for unlocked bootloader from DoomLord.
EDIT :
When I try to use this tool to restore bootloader, I'm unable to boot on my phone.
Then I try to reflash stock firmware again with Flashtool. Now, it able to boot on.
Maybe this tool cannot be used on Stock Kernel provided by DoomLord.
Flash the kernel from SE 2.3 FW. You will be able to get back to regular "Sony Ericsson" boot.

Is there any method which tell you exactly about bootloader either it's locked or unlocked? I am asking this question because I run @9Lucas5 method and than I restored Thejap Rom. After the restore, I got Xperia bootanimation (first) SE animation and finally Thejap boot animation. Yesterday, I install Thejap new version and now SE bootanimation is disappeared and I have Xperia and Thjap BA. Phone with excellent deep sleep (85%) and great battery life. (which is reported by many unlocked BL user very bad) Now if I want to go back by this method what will happended when I don't know my phone's BL is LOCKED or UNLOCKED.
VERY SIMPLE WAY TO FIND IF U HAVE LOCKED/UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER
DOWNLOAD THE S1TOOL pc application from 1st post
do the following:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
click on Identify
Connect device in FLASH MODE
check output
check the marked strings
if the strings begin with "r" (lower case) then bootloader is UNLOCKED
if the strings begin with "R" (upper case) then bootloader is LOCKED
Curious... Are you the same the_laser that makes SEtool and LGtool? If so, you are certainly awesome
Edit.
Wow, my sig is waaaaaaaay out of date!
Also would the same rule apply when identifying in setool? r for unlocked, R for locked? Got an x10 that identifies loader as DEAD, just wondering if there's any hope for it or is that the funniest most accurate piece of code ever?

Works on the latest firmware, So it will work on previous versions too. Just follow the basic steps mentioned, and no need for unlock bootloader to get root access.
You can also update back through SE companion tool, and you will get updated, but root will be gone.
Tested and found no bugs yet. Good luck.

How can i overclock it now ?? I cant seem to follow how to install DoomLord's Kernel
overclocking is not possible yet ..... (try set cpu to make sure of that)
you can flash DooMLoRD's kernel via flashtool found in XPERIA X10 fourm , but doomlord did'nt release his usual kernel for neo v ,he just released a slightly modded GENERIC kernel for rooting.

Can't you attach the image, your service won't let see the image to anyone that is not signed in.
If you cannpt attach use service like tinypic.com.
It would be very helpful if you added some information like what is your firmware version and which method you have used.

You should ask the OP of that thread, it is very unclear what is needed to every phone and firmware.
I am quite sure that if you chose the other method that I have used you'd be rooted a long time ago.

I will need some bravery to try doing that again...

2) New Xperia Root (Z, U ... JellyBean)
3) Old.
4) Old-Special
Thank you all for that you gave from you own time helping me out to resolve it.

I work as a publisher to post exclusive things for freeIf I have an apple and you have an apple, we both have one apple, and if I give you my apple and you give me yours, we each have an apple and nothing changes But if I had an idea and you had an idea and I gave you my idea and I took your idea from you, then each of us has two ideas. This is the rule by which I live.

Great job, I was wondering if after rooting by following your guide the bootloader reports the tampering count, or by closing the bootloader everything returns like stock ?
Windows Defender sees it as a virus.
If you want to return the phone to its normal state, all you have to do is download the official ROM, the latest update, and install it through a local method

Thanks for sharing your work, it is very useful for everyone. So is the tamper counter reversible? Isn't it written indelibly?
Can you share the files for the Global 412 version as well?

I do not think that this thing is important, it is only important for the warranty, and as soon as you break the protection, the warranty goes away Only when selling the device can the buyer know if your device has been broken or not

I do not own this device, but if I want to, I will send the official boot file for the 412 update to you, and if you have this device, correct it through Magisk Manager and send it to me

In the end, read the entire topic, you will find in the first paragraph disabling Windows protection. I do not have to justify. If you are not convinced, do not download the files.
