You need to install one of the 2.2 builds for flash

Lol that's not right at all..if you don't really know the answer to a question then don't answer it. Anyhow the other person was right you need a rom that is 2.2 or higher in order to use flash.
You need a froyo (2.2) custom room like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947613
Dude u need a 2.2 ROM, if u have rooted the phone, just install xrecovery and choose install custom rom & location of the rom zip.
Voila you are good to go
Can someone explain to me in layman's (ish) terms, why it's not possible to hack Flash Player support on 2.1?
I want to learn!
Because the framework for flash didn't exist on 2.1.. The only 2.1 that had flash was for htc and it was flash lite, but it sucked..
U just have to flash a 2.2 ROM like Free X10 and download Flash from the Market - Finish
Greetz, Kevin
Flash Palyer is working well on Free X10
thanks guys would you be able to tell me which custom rom is the best I mean best froya 2.2
thanks guys

Okay, so thats why there were a lot of rumors about Flash on 2.1
Because HTC had some Flash Lite. But, you could also install it on other phones, or only on some HTC?
Does flash realy need some files from 2.2 ? isnt there a way to copy these files from 2.2 and use under 2.1 ?

Only worked on htc phones because it required their sense rom...
There is no way no matter what you do to get it to run on 2.1. It will never happen.

Flash lite works on 2.1 Stock SE, I've tried it. But for the full experience, yeah u need one of the 2.2+ roms

Again, there's a difference between flash and flash lite.
Most flash websites do not support flash lite, but there are a few that do. Many ads, for example, are based on flash lite. But anyway, I think the OP has got his answer, so further discussion is futile

Yes but newgrounds.com still did work with flash lite as it worked when I had htc sense, then once I rooted and installed a 2.1 custom rom it no longer did, even after I had flash lite supposedly installed.
Ask any of the htc devs and they will tell you the exact same thing guaranteed... It did not actually work...
Seriously go ask pulser, feeyo, any of them..
Whats the best rom for my LG Optimus One (P500h) ?
2.2.2 stock room with root. Since the beginning I always was using custom roms, but this is my personal opinion in the past few months I prefer the stock room with root, which I can make any tweak I want, and doesn't have battery drain and bugs that some custom rooms have.
And cause many of the custom rooms are based in 2.2, and 2.2.1+ had some updates that repaired VPN that I use a lot. I couldn't be more happy with it, cause it gives me a lot of experience messing with android too.
There is no best ROM. You choose what suites you. Now, if I were to tell you that the best ROM for me is Light, would you choose it too? It doesn't come with Darktremor, so no one else except non-Darktremor users use it.
Point is, look at what the ROMs bring. Choose according to what you need or what you don't need.
However, if you want something widely used by the people here, use void/devoid or LOL or Megatron or Prime or the other ROMs with popular threads on the Dev subforum
I use the stock Rom rooted with a overclocking kernal
Very fast.
Andy's 2.3.2 Gingerbread

I downloaded the official rom from lg website to my country and decompress it, and with this kitchen added root, and left the rest untouched.
pedroh: how can we tell version is the original ROM on LG website? Can you also share the instruction on how to install the kitchen? I am using v10c (2.2) firmware.
I do not have the links anymore, but I know how to do it, but google it is similar procedure as making your own rom.
if u stay on 2.2 use Void echo, if 2.2.2 is ur choice the u can flash Nessy.. its a good ROM . however i am using 2.3.3 andy gingerbread... though its in developing stage but i am quite happy with some bugs in it...
I'm using Optimus X rom, it has the best performance for the limited CPU frequency on the LG p500, but with a good kernel you can eeek out a extra 170MHz - 206 MHz out of the processor.
I'm running the rooted stock Froyo 2.2 and Mik's mutlitouch kernal overclocked.
I'm using my Nessy ROM!

or

void. #forevah.
LOL. "What is the best" asks for a nice flamewar. Would suggest to use the phone with stock FW for a while, perhaps just root it and continue reading.
Why?
The one advantage that I (a noob) can see, is the language (the void rom is available in PT-BR, but the official FW is available only in PT-PT... =s).
The official FW can allow me to fix the touch bug?
And what is the other advantages? It is really faster? The perfomance is better?
Thanks!

Since you're new in this I'd suggest you to take it easy atm. especially while we have ported gb, official gb, different basebands etc etc you'll get confused. Keep your current stock, root it and try to install recovery. After that you should try flashing some froyo roms or CM or andy's and you see how it goes. Baby steps

Hi, fellow brazilian here. I suggest you start by rooting your phone, install recovery then install franco.kernel v18cfs. It will fix the touch bug, speed up ur phone and will give you great battery life. This way youll have a tottaly bug free device.
As others said, wait a little before installing a custom rom. They all have little bugs, enjoy stock froyo for a while and keep reading the forum.

Oh, yes...

Well, can you answer three questions, please? =D
1 - This Custom is really better than Noejn's?
2 - It is available in my language? (PT-BR)
3 - How many points this custom makes in a benchmark?

After flashing recovery, don't forget to make a complete nandroid backup from custom recovery, before you start messing with your phone... So u can always restore your current firmware.

Root, install recovery and do a nandroid backup. Its easier to restore the stock rom using recovery, and safer too.
I can see you are eager to install gb on your device, despite our suggestion to keep your stock rom for a while. Then i suggest you flash mik's cm7, IMO the best rom out there.
Every rom based on cm7 has pt-BR, and in my experience mik's cm7 + franco.kernel + ungaze's data2sd is the fastest combo available.

ungaze data2sd is script for making some memory of your sd card function as phone memory....so that you can install more apps without moving them all time to sd.....as suggested go step by step....
1.root your phone using gingerbreak.
2.install rom manager from market.
3.install clockworkmod recovery from rom manager.(dunno abt language)
4.reboot into recovery and do a backup of rom.(nand :there is an option in rom manager menu too :"backup rom")
5.flash franco 18.1.
6.flash rom of your choice.(mik /andy/noejn anyone .....better ones from them are on the way)
take your time after each step...dont be in a hurry...and complete this before asking other questions!!

I would have went with CM7 since Gingerbread is newer than Eclair with many more capabilities and optimizations. It's still your choice though and if you just don't want gingerbread (for some reason), you could go with Froyo (linked in that thread) which is also newer than Eclair.

Dear reader,
I've currently been using Cyanomod for 2.3.7 Gingerbread.
My phone is rooted and everything (which took a little while )
Everything is running perfectly fine, but i would like to update my phone to android 4.0+ (whatever the lastest compatible version might be)
How should i go about this?
Do i basically uninstall everything and start from scratch or is there an easy method to quickly update my phone to android 4.
Kind Regards and Thank you for your time!
I believe the answer us first to backup your apps with titanium backup if you need them. Then go to recovery and backup your current Rom. (always be sure to do this). from recovery wipe factory reset and dalvik cache. Then install your new Rom from zip.
You cannot install an android 4.0 + over another version. Always backup and wipe.

Rom's are pre rooted (expect stock, stock BASED roms ARE pre-rooted), once you've installed the rom through cwm, it will be rooted and ready.

If your bootloader is unlocked, you can easily flash a custom kernel (Based on ics, so it'll be compatible with ics rom) And boot into recovery, and flash a custom rom based on ics.

If your finding trouble with compatible roms are you saying your getting bootloops when trying them?, because a different Android Version requires a different kernel, So if you haven't or forget to flash the kernel recommended or provided then that would possibly be where your compatibility issues lye as you will get bootloops if you don't and you are changing version. As Mikii suggested earlier.

Ahhh that must be it then.. I've been using the same kernel for quite some time now because it was quite a hassle to flash it. Different roms come with different kernels (at times). The fastest way to flash a kernel is to use the program called flashtool, click on the lightening bolt, select Fastboot mode, then select kernel to flash find the kernel you want to flash and it should be done within literally 2 seconds. once Flashtool gives you the all clear, disconnect your phone from usb, restart phone, and there you go, the old kernel will be overwritten, and so will that kernel's cwm version, with the one from the new kernel.
Try FXP138

Hey,
Everything is installed and running, however i am wondering about just one thing.
Whenever i reboot my phone i get, right after imputting my sim code, a Unlock Network SIM message.
What is this and how can i solve it?
Regards,
(oops just realized i made a double post, apologies!)
