to be honest with you I dont have a clue if installing a different version does make any difference, have a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 for any IRL roms else maybe try the one from CPW Uk or just wait for somebody to explain it about the versions
uk o2 here with this version XWKF3/baseband ke7

Where did u buy it, is it from some operator (branded device), if yes, then which one, or it is in free sale in some store (unbranded) ?
If you bought it from vodafone ireland, then you have firmwares here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
firs and second edition.

UK ROM on different phone?

I think i have a Latin American version of the phone. Is it safe to flash with a UK ROM? Will it, for all intent and purposes, be like a UK version of the SGS2?
Yeh it'll be fine as long as there are no hardware differences, you can find stock firmwares on samfirmware.com

Thanks! Gonna do this afternoon then!
You're welcome, if i was you I would flash a generic European rom (XEU) as they receive ROM updates through Kies before the UK specific versions do, I'm on O2 in the UK and still on KE2 (my product code is O2U)

I plan on flashing this one, which is the last one listed for Europe on SamFirmwares.com:
I9100XWKF3 ## EXT4.PIT 2.3.3 2011 June 9 CSC - KCL
Is that a good one to get?
I'm starting to understand the whole firmware numbers now. Damn, talk about immersing yourself in a new culture to learn the language!
Seems like the newest generic UK ROM is KE7.
Since I'm in the US, and there is no US version of the phone, I wonder which CSC I should use. I guess it comes down to which region has the most desirable app choices in the market, huh?

[Q] Help regarding S2 ROM!!!

So I recently bought Samsung Galaxy S2, coming from iPhone it's quite tricky when it comes to firmwares. My phone is the I9100G white model and I accidentally tried to flash the I9100 ICS firmware update.. But after researching on the net I was able to flash it back to the GingerBread firmware via Odin software. My query is that will I be able to get and install official firmwares from Samsung or not directly through KIES, if not than how can I shift back to the original firmware for my device which would work on KIES update.. Lastly has ICS been released for I9100G model as yet or not??? Your help would be much appreciated..!!
ics has not yet been released for the original firmware 9100g need to know from which country the sgs2
It's a UK Handset!

I bought the unlocked international version of SGS2.. I also wanted to know how to find out which country is my phone from although the seller claims that it's a UK handset.. If there is a way to find out do let me know... Thanks!!

I9100 SGS2 is international version and doesn`t matter from which country you bought
I9100G isn't distributed by any of the networks in the UK or even sold direct by any major retailer (well, maybe one). You should be able to check your IMEI somewhere like here to see where it's from.
ROM
Can you recommend any other custom ROM for I9100G model.. I have come across many ROMs for the I9100 but not the I9100G one..

If you haven't flashed custom ROMs or updated your firmware yet, your build number in the About Phone screen will (sort of ) tell you. It's a code that can be deciphered.
What is the build number?

XW is a generic Europe code that could be many countries (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Nordic, Spain, United Kingdom).
LA1 means it was build 1 in January of 2012.
I believe you can further narrow down what country by finding your CSC by typing *#1234# into your dialer.
is india or bangladesh
I think you should be able to flash through Kies when you revert to the stock ROM. Here is a list of official I9100 firmware, I guess you could find yours in there.

I missed in the first post of the thread where he said he flashed back to a stock firmware, so my suggestion was voided, since it was no longer the original firmware that shipped with his phone.

Yea exactly, thats what i want to know how can you revert back to the original firmware that would work with KIES..
Sent from my GT-I9100G using XDA
Two options.
1) Original firmware that came with phone; search for said firmware on Samfirmware.com, flash according to any instructions they have for flashing firmware downloaded from their site.
2) Latest stock firmware you'd normally get via Kies; get the PC version of Checkfus (search for it on XDA/Google). This will allow you to download the latest firmware for your phone/carrier/country that you'd normally get via Kies (might be the same firmware which came with the phone, depends on whether carrier has pushed a firmware update since or not). Flash this firmware you download following the instructions in Intratech's firmwares threads on here.

upgrade to ICS stock

Sorry if this question was asked b4 but I think my situation is a little different but if it is not I beg your pardon and patience
I am based in Australia and I am with Telstra -- I bought a Galaxy S2 almost 10 months ago from a company based in Singapore on Ebay.
The handset's motherboard fried after one month -- in Australia they could not repair it as it was bought overseas. I returned the handset to Singapore and after 8 months they returned it back to me. It's working now. I won't go in any further details about the ebay transaction which was a nightmare.
Long story short I now have a S2
PDA: I9100XWKI4
PHONE I9100XXKI1
CSC I9100OJCKI1
Android version 2.3.4
Baseband version I9100XXKI1
Kernell version 2.6.35-7-I9100XWKI4-CL575468 [email protected]#2
I have hooked up on Kies which said no update was available. . . perhaps because the CSC is South African I am in Australia?
Given that I am in Australia what's the best way to upgrade to a stock version of ICS?
Thanks in advance
Flash any ICS you like from intratech thread. Your pohone has no exception i can see

try to search on xda for a stock ICS firmware meant for australia and flash the same and see
You could try Samfirmware.com and get a recent Aussie rom and flash that.
You need to register to download.

Thx mate -- I was able to find the Telstra ICS and unzipped the file I9100TDVLP4_I9100TTELLP2_I9100TDVLP3_HOME.tar.md5. From the Odin instruction I should have different files up upload. Also Odin 1.85 does not have an OPS window for the One package update. Any help would be appreciated

MistahBungle said:
Flash the tar.md5 in the PDA section of Odin. You don't need the .dll (if there is one). I flashed a Voda stock rom from Checkfus successfully last weekend.
Edit - It takes a while to flash because of the size of the package/telco bloat, so be patient & make sure you let it complete/reboot.

All done -- thx mate -- the Telstra ROM was crap, it has so much stuff I don't need so I went for the unbranded ROM and it's pretty good and stable.

[Q] i9300 help with baseband/firmware and official samsung firmware

Hi all, I need some information/help regarding the method to unroot my phone. i have checked a bunch of sites online and i know what the general idea is, but i can't seem to find the original firmware for my phone.
i am currently using an i9300 that I purchased unlocked from Amsterdam last summer. i have rooted it and have been using it on cm9 stable for the international s3 and now want to go back to stock firmware for warranty reasons.
i have been through the list of firmwares on samsung-updates.com but I am not sure which firmware i should install for my specific phone. there are a few netherlands links that i saw but were for tmobile...
furthermore, using *#1234# on my phone doesnt do anythign at all. the baseband version is i9300CELH1 when i go into about phone.
please help me figure out where I can find the original firmware for my phone that will keep it in its original warranty.
Thanks and I apologize in advance if I come off as a noob!

my phone was unlocked, got it for 600 euros so it wasnt locked to any carrier as far as I know.
sam mobile shows tmobile and vodafone, and a third one that doesnt mention any carrier. should i just go ahead with that? either way, is there a chance of my phone being bricked?

There is always a 'Chance' of being bricked but to be honest if you follow the Instructions it should be all ok, I have flashed via ODIN quite a lot and never had any issues Id say go for whichever ROM version you want e.g. is 4.1.2, I know new version is out on Vodafone so id say give that one a try just make sure to select the correct model number

Yes I have and there are only 4.0.4 versions of the software.
I have also tried another popular firmware downloading site and still cannot find this and there are only versions for france, poland, romaina, spain and i think netherlands... no UK 4.1.2 anywhere to be found?

if its not listed on sammobile then it might be an OTA update
currntly what rom/kernel ur phone is into
If its a custom rom then do flash the Stock ICS firmware for ORANGE UK and then see if u get an OTA update to JB4.1.2
Also u can check the link below

Well i currently have the rom for the Vodafone UK network. But that not longer works as I am with Orange. Yeah i checked out that link and that is what confuses me. Why would you release a 4.1.2 update for pretty much the whole on europe for the orange network but not the uk?
Currently download stock ICS to see if there is another update.
Very strange.
UPDATE - Fixed
**Update - Solved**
Hi I just thought i'd come back to my original thread and post a solution to this problem.
If anyone get this issue then what I did was go to samsung-updates dot com and downloaded a stock rom called Region: XEU and with a version id of: I9100XWLSW.
Works a treat and will recognise the orange / Everything everywhere / t-mobile network.
Thanks
