hi i have chainfire 3D installed on my phone .. i was playing around with the night vision tab .. i selected custom and set everything to minimum .. selected test and now my screen had blacked out cant see anything can anyone help me to revert back to normal setting??? I am in crisis ..
I need more info. Is your phone on? Have you tried turning it on (if its not)? Have you exited the app? More info is needed for me to help.

hello it was working like it should only thing was that screen went totally black and there was no way i could see anything .. i took out the battery then after turning on the phone could see the bootscreen but after booting it went black again .. so screen was normal the setting i had changed was from nightmode in chainfire3D .. had selected custom and set all bars to minimum then hit the test and BOOM!! my phone went blind .. so yes screen is working, phone is working - i can feel the vibation when it turns on when i unlock by just scrolling down because i have been using my phone a lot so i know where is the unlock on screen ..
Seems like you're just going to have to reflash your rom. That should fix the problem. I would recommend doing a full wipe (of data and cache) before flashing.

thanks .. i went to recovery mode and did format system .. its working again .. so i am installing all of my applications again .. thanks for helping!! god!! i am never touching those settings again ..

This is certainly not related to VillianROM in any way.
I think it's a hardware problem - there's something wrong with display panel. If the backlight is dead you should barely see very dark image on the screen in bright lightning conditions.
Anyway, looks like there's nothing you nor your friend can do to fix it. You need to send it to service.

If the phone has USB debugging enabled by accident (I guess it's hard to turn it on blindly) then you can access it using adb shell. If you have custom recovery image installed, such as Clocwork or Amon_RA, you can boot to it and fave full access to your phone through USB using adb (or fastboot) so you can flash new ROM images.

Yes, what he said ^^.
I'll just add one more thing. To get to custom recovery easily, pull the battery out and put it back in again. Then perform what ever key combination to boot custom recovery.

You might also have more luck posting in the Wildfire sections where they me able to help. It does seem like a Hardware issue with the screen to me? Was it dropped or anything?
It seems like hardware. Probably connection between screen and PCB.

Hi everyone! Im a noob here so I do aplogize if this problem has been solved/mentioned. Well, this is my problem: Ok so my stupid friends took my phone when I wasn't using looking and screwed up my pattern lock so I have to enter my email and password to unlock my phone, right? Well, I was busy so instead I switched off my device and kept it in my pocket. After an hour or so, I felt my phone getting heated up which was weird because it was turned off, so I checked on it and this is what I see: The boot animation was showing up and is stuck at the 'S' logo flashing bit with it vibrating occasionally, the 'menu' and 'back' buttons lights up once in awhile. Oh, and the occasion screen bright up. So i went ahead and tried holding the power button and the same thing happend but this time it lets me in and for a few secs..thn comes out to the boot animation again:crying:... So now I suspect that the lock process has crashed ...any way to fix it? The main thing here is that I need to somehow access the device long enough to copy my stuff to my computer. And of course, fix my well loved phone sorry if my post is very long.....Please help and thanks in advance!!!!!

Your files should be fine. You will lose your app and user data but that's a small price to pay for fixing your phone.
if u can enter to cmwr, then u could make a nandroid back up. this way when u flash up a new rom you could try restoring only data information in advance options in Nandroid back up..
is your phone rooted?? do u have a CMWR???
if not, the only thing u could do is flash a new rom through ODIN.

so the phone was on coffee table. I noticed it vibrates so i look at it . and its on a solid blue led light and the samsung logo is circling/glowing in a loop. so pulled battery , left for a few mins and turn on but its same problem?
its s3 uk . btu. its on 4.1.2 for a good 3 months . had phone maybe just a year never had any problems until today.
i am getting s3 btu uk 4.1.2 firmware and flash it . but how can i enable usb debugging if i cannot boot up phone?
i can get it into donwload mode ,
and some sort of menu mode when i hold up button instead . something about wipe / factory?

The other mode is called recovery mode.
The factory reset will wipe your data - although most will be probably backed up and restored later.
Try that, if it doesn't work, flash with the download mode.

so i think i going to try flash with odin to see what happens if i can

Did wiping from recovery mode not help? try that before trying odin, it's much safer.
Also, please follow all the instructions when dealing with odin, misuse can hard brick your device and turn it into 600$ useless paperweight.
no i just relfahsed with odin , and it restarted it then said re installing 0/200 apps like it started up first time then it restarted and now its back in a reboot loop

Weird, seems like a problem with one of the apps (?) since it was reinstalling them, factory reset from the recovery menu and see if that makes the difference now that you flashed with Odin.
If not please report back.
PS: wipe dalvick cache under advanced in recovery.
it wasn't reinstalling them. it was optimizing them because the cache was cleared. you need to factory reset. factory reset from stock recovery will also wipe the internal sd though
i am not rooted so dont have access to clr dalvik cache
flashuing stock rom with odin didnt work .
factory reset worked !!
lost all my torrents and stuff on sd card . teach me to back up now

Hi you would never guess what. It happened again. I restored all google apps say 100. Then I was using SMS back and restore to restore about 16k texts . I have lost about two months since the last back so my phone had handled more txtx s then 17k texts
Then it was stuck on solid blue led and glowing samsung logo again . So I just factory restored and now it's ok again ,but now I lost all my stuff again having stayed up until. 4am in the morning rode loading and re installing all apps
Seems like something is hitting all the cache causing the phone to semi brick ? Could it be a bad cache ? So when the phone writes to that caches it bricks it?

I just been googgling , is this what they call sudden death?
I did call up samsung service centre and my phone is still under its two year warranty so I got time to take it back.
He did seem helpful but issue is I have fixed it by wipe and factory reset so problem is now not present so not much he can do
The service centre did say if they can not find or repeat the fault then they can't do anything and would send same phone back. Having come from iPhone , it seems the service is not as good . When I had problems with my iPhone they just swapped it out after they plugged it into some machine.
It's been ok today. Though, it's restored all the same apps I had and it hasn't bricked itself yet thank god
I am using app back up and restore and it's sayings I got 290 apps lol

Recently i had my Htc droid dna updated with 3.06 RUU ..then s-offed with rumrunner +perm root.
I have had problems with my Htc phone !! My phone ALWAYS starts up (power ON) with NO screen , it just shows the notification bar (to show the whole screen i have to use notif. bar slide it and go to settings ,then the whole screen comes up !horray). (I have attached a picture of that).
Does anyone knows whats happening here ? Usually when it starts like that ... i expect it to give me "proccess system not resonding" then powers off immediately(And it does so!!) it reboots (restart the phone) and get stuck in boot animation and there is NO way to turn it off! (just in case you open back cover and disconnect the battery). Any Idea guys?
By the way i am in a GREAT Rom by viper team 2.5 (as they said it has no bugs! I believe that ). NOTE : my phone had this issue even before flashing new Rom (lets say that's the reason for rooting and flashing another than stock).
I need you guys ! i really want my phone back ..i don't want now to send it to HTC corp. so they unroot it ,then i have to do the whole thing again !
Believe me before flashing the new Rom ,I cleared the phone ..factory clear cache ..everything !

Looks like you need to re-flash the ROM, I would try a different ROM if you can, to shut the phone down, hold the power button down (the buttons will blink) when that stops the phone will be off. Sometimes it takes a while, usually only takes about 5 seconds but it might take 30+ seconds to fully power off.
If you can get it to boot into recovery, just use adb to either push or sideload another ROM and make sure to factory reset, wipe cache, and dalvik cache BEFORE you flash the new ROM. Internal storage can be left alone.
I recommend pushing the rom to the sdcard and then wipe the system partition (as well as the others mentioned above) <- if you wipe the system you will be left with nothing to boot to until you flash a new ROM

Have you tried using a different recovery to flash the roms? go into the viper3.0.1 thread download the beta .6 recovery flash that and then try to flash another rom again
Need Help with my S6e
First of all, Original Rom, no Root, no Mods etc. Stock FW Version MMB29K.G925FXXU4DPJG @ 6.01 MM
When the screen is off and I get a message from any app, the screen turns on every time. Normally the LED should light up when I get Notifications and the screen is off.
Is there any solution for this or an option in Menu to solve this ? Otherwise, I will Reset the Phone and look if the problem still exist.

Hi, i have a soloution for this. Please note, this worked for me, dont know if this may help you.
First of all, make a Full Date Backup, then Download Odin 3 & the sowftware vom Sammobile for your Device. Reboot your Device in Download Mode, Flash the new Rom and Reboot. This fixed the Problem for me somehow. Maybe you can Reset your Phone after Backup before flashing but i dont think this will help.
