Thanks to all the devs - Droid Eris General

Just wanted to thank all the devs for their awesome work on this phone. If it wasn't for you guys I would have went crazy waiting for my upgrade but you kept this phone relevant. I just went and picked up the droid bionic today and have already rooted it. Just waiting for CWM and some ROMs to start coming. This phone is a beast I would recommend it to anyone. I hope to see some of the eris devs working on the bionic sometime soon! Thanks again, you guys are awesome at what you do!

I love the idea of making a post just to thank devs! Because of you all i got to have so much fun with my Eris and it usually was faster than other peoples' newer phones! and it ran Gingerbread when everyone else had FroYo!! Thank you all for your selflessness and all your hard work!

Thanks again to all the Devs who made a phone that Verizon stopped supporting, last year because it would never get Froyo. But you guy achieved that and then some by putting Gingerbread on the Eris. You guys made my phone fun again, I was sad when I upgraded to the Bionic, because my Eris might be able to beat it. The Eris will always live on in the Xda forums. Thank you again to all the devs you made my phone fun again.

Saying Thanks

Just want to say thanks to all the devs for making me love my Eris again was about to throw it out a window till I found XDA. I've gone through a couple of roms so far and love tazzginger the best so far. Will be donating later this week thanks for everything. Also would of posted in tazzs thread but this is my first post

I second this post. Since I bought my Eris last May, I've really grown to love Android and the features that are tied in with so many of Google's services. That being said, I was starting to get a little tired of looking at the same-old, same-old HTC Sense and frustrated that Verizon discontinued the phone 2 months after I bought it and HTC stopped updating us after a wildly-delayed 2.1.
As the Verizon iPhone launch grew closer, even though I had no desire to leave Android, I was starting to get a little iLust in me. That's when I knew it was time to renew my commitment to the loveable little Droid, but to do so, I would have to turn to the mod community for help.
So about a month ago, I nervously flashed my first ROM, Nonseniskal v16.1. After a few weeks, I found and flashed GSB. It continually amazes me how this community works endlessly to keep bringing the newest Android OSes and new features to a device that everyone else has long counted out of the game.
The people of XDA and the rest of the Android mod community is what Android is really all about. Thank you all.
Welcome to rooting and the forum, both of you!
Thanks to all devs. i had eris for more then a year never rooted till like last week im running GSB v1.9 and wow its a whole new phone this will hold me over till november upgrade thanks again xda and devs
Hiyas!
Gonna jump aboard this thread. I am a carbon copy of the comments above.
I have had my ERIS from nearly the day it hit the main stream Verizon market. As my wife and children began to catch and pass me with all the new gear I still loved my phone. It's the Right Stuff! Slim, not to big or little, trackball for easy use and amazingly it's an excellent phone. I've had a few. AT 62 I had the first ones, the big "Brick"s".
Not like a lot of "old folks" I love this stuff. I'm a gamer and build my own rigs. As my ERIS was being left for dead I started to read here and other forums on rooting. A month ago it started. Once rooted, I began changing ROMs like my socks eventually settling on the KAOSFroyo but with GO Launcher EX which I believe to be the best of the best.
Last night was Gingerbread (Go Launcher EX) I love it! This is truly the "Little Phone That Could".
Thanks Devs, the support folks, and all the informational posters here. I am not in any hurry to replace the ERIS....it fits me
Regards and Thanks,
Dennis
I am also saying thanks! You guys are awesome and inspiring!!!
I would also like to chime and say thanks to zach.xtr! xtrSense has been on my Eris since the day I rooted, and I haven't even had the urge to try another ROM. I'll be flashing 5.0 tonight - really excited that the 50% without signal bug is fixed! I can now turn my phone on/off without doing the airplane mode trick!

Goodbye Eris Hello Play

So finally replacing my Eris, getting an Xperia Play. Just want to say thanks to all the devs that helped make my Eris not suck. And a particular thanks to Workshed and all the guys who helped make GSB possible. Giving my niece my Eris, so I'll prolly still be droppin in to make sure her experience was as good as mine.
Thanks again Devs. Best community around.

Thanks everyone on Eris!!

I just wanted to thank everyone for all their help and all the developers here for extending the life my Eris WAY past what Verizon was willing to support. Thanks to you guys, I've been running the latest version of Gingerbread and enjoying my Eris. My upgrade time is finally here and I have purchased a Droid Bionic. I will be moving there for all my rooting needs. Yes that means I have an Eris that isn't doing anything at the moment. I'll likely use TheROM to make it into an MP3 player/Wifi Analyzer. If not, I might be willing to give it to a developer who plans to continue developing for the Eris. Let me know if you're interested in it and we'll see. Thanks again everybody!

See you later, but not good bye

I upgraded to the LTE Galaxy Nexus today and I wanted to thank all of the devs for keeping my little Eris chugging along I will not forsake this forum and will continue to flash ROMs (especially ICS ROMs) on my Eris. And I also wanted to thank all of the nice people here in the forum, you guys rock :3
Congrats on the purchase. I too upgraded to the GNEX and after playing with it for a bit Im confident this and the one I got for my girlfriend as well will serve us well for the next 2 years??
We both purchased the Eris when it launched but she couldnt deal with it being slow so I acquired hers and had one to use and one to test. Im running stock Sense on one and Nonsensikal on the other one. I have no intentions of putting either out to pasture.

Thanks Guys!

One year ago, I started development for the HTC Flyer. I am delighted by the fact that I could bring you XK MIUI GingerBread and XK CyanogenMod 7. A few months later, we got ICS Lisbon working, and later we also brought out ICS Yetki. I truly hope you, this wonderful community, enjoyed are work and hopefully are still enjoying it.
Howver, unfortunately it's time for me to move on. I spent quite some time the past months on Android, but I am very busy with school at the moment, and that will only get worse. Aside from that, I also have to take care of things like my drivers license and exams. At the moment, I think it's better to get a job and save money for the university, as I will need it. I have a few ambitions with a few open souce projects I want to realize, but those aren't Android related. But when that project is finished, I will notify you guys. But aside from that, I don't really have a lot of spare time to work on development.
So thanks a lot guys. Thanks for being an amazing community
Kind regards,
Chaosz-X.
Thanks for your work here.
You will be missed. Especially since it is getting all too quiet on this forum.
We'll see you around here again (either on this or other devices) if you ever decide to develop again. Good luck with your other pursuits.
Thanks a lot. Good luck and hope see u soon.

Thanks for your work! Developers and Cookers are younger day by day lol! =)
Sad to see it happen but I'm not surprised.
Good luck, thanks for all the blood/sweat/tears you've put into your flyer project!
Best of luck to ya!

So, no 3.x kernel for Flyer, huh? Too bad, would be a great goodbye present from you
But I guess now all of us should give you lots of presents for bringing what HTC didn't
