Task's launcher in V5 and V6 is different than stock TW KME. It has the bubbles removed on top.
When you went back to stock, did you do a full wipe of your system first? Let us know what steps you took to get back to stock to figure this out.

thanks for the quick reply, i just followed the first thread of i think in the development section that tells u how to root,unroot,roms...etc...
there was pretty much just 3 sentences.. i downloaded the filesfordummies.zip.... went to cwm and loaded up the hc-3.1_ota-full_sam_tab_10.1.zip, then i unrooted after that with odin.... but i did notice i get a force close after i booted up..so i redid the process again and wiped the cache, wiped and resetted the data, and wiped the dalvic thing... then i reloaded up the hc-3.1_ota-full_sam_tab_10.1.zip again... then i unrooted again (i rerooted earlier in the step again so i could unroot)....i see the stock stuff, but it seems the bubbles are still not there, the menu is still dark (unlike what i had in the stock one, and the widgets like the clock and weather that appears when i first purchased it is not at the homescreen)...so i know something is wrong..

Your on the original stock honeycomb. I can't remember if the bubbles were on vanilla honeycomb. Upgrade your Tab to Touchwiz to get the other features back.

If you need to upgrade link, here is KMB http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1205816
It was the first official Touchwiz update in the US. You can upgrade to KME from there to be at the latest and greatest.

hmm..ok ill try that out... do i have to get back the cwm to use it?? thanks!!!

Yes, you can use the filesfordummies to
1. flash cwm on ODIN
2. install zip via CWM
3. flash stocky recovery on ODIN
4. factory reset in stock recovery
5. go to settings>about and upgrade to KME
This method and the KMB link I posted will keep you unrooted and stay within warranty. This is what I do if I want a completely clean ROM.

Another medthod and possibily the easiest is found on this site from Overcome. (Started yesterday so I forgot to mention)
They have a download called restock and it will ODIN KME on your Tab and give you the chance to wipe clean.

i think im trying out the overcome way...im dling it right as im typing..ill update you...i think either way im going back to stock then returning this one (its only been like 5 days from best buys) and getting the white one
btw, i noticed youre from the bay area..maybe ill just drop it by your house so you can help me root my new one and install adhoc lol jk

alright i got the stock rom back in there now. all the widgets and bubble things are back too...i appreciate it!
now im wondering..is that task650 rom with the newer software, or is the factory one the newest?? thanks

Both are KME which is the latest US official release.
Other than that, tasks is themed and has enhancements that make it much much smoother than stock.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using xda premium

ah ok, so its just the theme that made the menus/task look different in colors. i have it all fixed now. i will PM you if you dont mind regarding adhoc tether. thanks again.

2.3.6 -> 2.3.4 Update Rollback with UnNamed

I'm currently on UnNamed 2.2.1 with the 2.3.6 OTA Update (of course) UCKK6.
I would like to roll back to UnNamed 1.3.2 and the Original 2.3.4 / UCKH7.
All the searching and reading of posts has me in an easiest method tailspin.
I have a JIG so no worries on the flash count (I think this still works on 2.3.4).
I have mobil odin installed as well as root, superuser, CWM.
Am I just stressin, or can I just install "update-unnamed-v1.3.2-full.zip" via CWM?
Will I need a full wipe / App Reload?
I'm just trying to regain my bluetooth keyboard functionality. Mandatory for my travels. Battery improvements would be a bonus.

Yup, just wipe and flash.
You guys are the best!
Hoping to avoid the wipe, but 2 wipes and a plus = I'm gonna wipe!
Cheers!!!
I'm also trying to prevent the loading of the 2.3.6 OTA updated.
I thought this was a diagonal double arrow icon but I do not see it anymore.
Also not seeing Device Manager as referenced in similar posts.
Anyone have a sure fire way to stay on 2.3.4 (at least until ICS).
Happily back to 2.3.4 and about to test my mini bluetooth keyboard.

It won't update if device management has been removed. I believe GTG removed it a while ago.
On an unrelated note, how do you like your Tab 10.1? I'm about to pick one up.
Mostly the kids machine.
2yrs,5yrs,11yrs old.
Dropped on several occasions without a case and still running strong.
I guess the fingerprints on the screen don't bug anyone but me.
The 2 & 5 year old boys I could understand, but the 11yo girl????
We need a new tub of screen wipes I guess.
The screen is significantly slower than the SGS2, but otherwise no issues at all with the wi-fi only version. Kids are watching netflix with it all the time.

I was wondering why I couldn't find it. Great news. Now I feel safe proceeding with the full app(s) rebuild.
YEEEEE HAAAAA
My Bluetooth Keyboard is Back!
Arrow Keys, Backspace, Right and left mouse buttons and a real live mouse cursor!
As far as Tab 10.1 - I love mine. Task650's ROM is great.
Which reminds me, I need to backup, wipe, and update. I'm on an ancient version of it.

Hey Simba just wondering, is there any reason you're using 1.3.1 instead of 1.3.2? Is it just b/c theres nothing significantly new in 1.3.2?

Right. 1.3.2 only removed a couple of unnecessary lib files if I remember correctly. It also deleted some ringtones/notifications. I never officially went to it (I may have wanted those tones or something idk lol). I just deleted the lib files myself.
I'm running UCKH7 Stock Rooted and Entropy512 DD and would like to try UnNamed 1.3.2, but the download link is no longer working. Can someone send me a copy of the file?
Thanks

[Q] Black screen...

Ok, I know some other people posted about black screen but all the other threads seem to be about it happening after a call.
Mine happens when the phone been sitting for a while with the screen off (and it's not all the times) it seems more prone to it if the screen been off for longer times.
I tried two different roms with two different kernels both have the cpu idle speed setup at 384 or more. As soon as I flash they seem to work ok but after a day or so the freaking black screen comes back. I also have pimp my rom installed with the "no black-screen after a call" tweak ticked.
I've went through the process of unrooting going all the way back to stock and start from the beginning all the way from unlocking the bootloader to S-off.
Downloaded fresh copies of the roms zip files
I don't think it's any of the apps since this does not start right away it takes a day or so after everthing been runing (but I might be wrong).
Obviously it's not the rom or the kernel since it does it with two different ones, what else is there that can be messing with my phone???
It's driving me crazy!!!!
Can it be hardware related????
I'm lost with this, and started thinking on a new phone already but I can't buy it until mid 2013 so I don't want to give up yet (actually can't).
This been working just fine up until a month ago or so, it's just now that the black screen started harrasing me.
Edit: It just happened again and since I could not get the screen up, I decided to pull the batt and when I turned the phone on again I got the vibration but the screen didn't light up during booting at all until I pressed the button few times.
Could my screen be dying?

have you ever considered its the tweaks your doing to your phone.. have you tried just flashing the rom and running it without doing the tweaks... not every phones hardware is identical so not all tweaks might work... ive flashed a rom recently that experienced some boot loops after doing some tweaks to the rom, and now im running that rom flawlessly without any tweaks...
---------- Post added at 12:01 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:00 AM ----------
you might also want to try the rom with the default kernel that comes with the phone not faux which i'm assuming your using
To be honest, no I haven't thought of that.
I just re flashed everthing, if the problem starts again I'll remove all the tweaks.
But the thing is the phone was working well and one day without changing anything it started with this. But I'll try removing the tweaks if this persist
Thanks,
Nope, it wasn't the tweaks.
Fresh flash, no tweaks and I still have to press the on button many times to get the screen to turn on
which rom are you using again?
I'm on NRG blue but I tried the Bulletproof for a while and it did it too that's why I'm thinking that is not rom related. It has to be something deeper than the rom.
Phone was working great until last month that I travelled abroad.
As soon as I got to the country I was visiting I put a local sim card and it took me a while to be able to boot, to the point that I had to restore from a backup.
Then during the time I was there I had several random reboots (like once or twice a day).
When I came back I swapped the sim again and no more reboots but after a week or so I started with this black screen problem, it was really bad to the point when sometimes I needed to pull the battery off to see if that helped and the rom got really screwed (I think sense got screwed because the screens were doing weird things). So I reflashed, it fixed all the weird things but not the black screen.
Now it's not as bad (I only need to press 3 or 4 times the button) and it's not alway, only if the screen been off for a while but my previous experiencest tells me that it will get worse in few days time...
okay i have a few suggestions.. do you do a full wipe when you flash a rom? wipe data/factory then format system then wipe cache partition's then wipe delvik cache.. and you should try going back to stock completely then trying a different rom and see.. its about testing all possibilities before coming to the conclusion your phone is damaged somehow
yes I always do a full wipe and/or the 4ext wipe and clear dalvik and cache. Not sure about the factory reset since I wasn't sure where that would take me.
you should try going back to stock completely

Do you mean relock, S-ON and goall the way to GB? or to ICS T-mous stock??? I did go to ICS (this one) http://d-h.st/3VD but I can do it again (I can alway use some practice with these procedures...)
I
you dont have to S-ON again i mean Stock ICS from your carrier.. and stock Ruu's are located in my signature if that link is one you got from there go right ahead... and try and flash back to stock, if you need instructions let me know

I did that yesterday and yes the ruu Iused is the same as the one listed there as most recent.
I just found an interesting discusion on the faux kernel thread about a problem, with the earlier version (which is the one I was running when the whole thing started) and that happened to me before this black screen.
This is the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1359951&page=232 and it's mentioned in the quote on post #2316 and ahead.
I PM'd AJ to see if he thinks this could be related since in one of his posts he said something like reverting to stock won't help (for some reason)
but overall from what i just read... the issue seems to be related to the faux kernel.. i only flashed it once but ii didnt do any tweaks,, i mostly use the stock kernel that comes with most of the rom's i flashed... here's what to try... in 4ext wipe all partitions except sd card, then wipe both sd card partitions internal and external.. toggle usb storage and flash this super wipe script in recovery.. then flash a different rom and don't flash faux.. test the rom out to see if your problem occurs again.. or flash the super wipe then place the ruu on the SD card then attempt to flash back to stock
Try this thread and see if it will help your situation.

I'll try it.
Thanks,
Tried that and didn't help, but thanks for the suggestion.
What I noticed today is that since Icouldn't get the screen on no matter how many times I pressed the darn button I pulle dhte batt out and then rebooted the phone to see if that helped and even though I got the little vibration confirmation when the phone boots up there was no white HTC splash screen or bootanimation whasoever, anyway since I could still not get the screen on I tried the same thing a few time and then once I finally managed to the the screen on I said int the bottom left corner SAFE MODE (never seen that one before). I'm running Bulletproof reloaded now.
Oh and the batt was kind of low (may be 20%).
Wow!!!! I do own a very messed up phone!!!
Today this piece of crap threw a total temper tantrum.
Would nos turn the screen on no matter what. I removed the batt and not even rebooting to the point that when I finally got it to boot it had an internal SD error. It didn't allow me to format, wipe or partition it from bootloader or recovery.
Now I'm at home so I flashed stock RUU (again) and it seems like its running one more time but I was really close to throw it over the cliff where I was Flying my RC gliders.
We'll see if I can make it last a bit longer...
so its working once again, cuz you said you flashed back the stock ruu right?
Yes,it's alive (will for how long this time). I flashed stock a couple of times , I unlocked once again, flashed 4ext, flashed JP hboot, superSU, NRG rom, supersu again (since IO wasn't sure in which order I should have done this) flash rom 2nd time, flashed Faux's v 24 (twice) and Downloaded most of the apps clean from Gplay.
I'm getting a lot of practice with this, who knows, may be one day I become good at it
its good your practicing now, but don't forget to do backups before you flash anything to your phone, this this way you'll have a stable install to restore back to incase anything goes wrong again
I been doing more tests and yesterday I run it on stock most of the day with no apparent issues, then I restored the NRG rom from a backup and still no issues so I started to think it was something I messed up flashing the JB Hboot, I moved to a bulletproof rom and decided to do another test.
I sat on the phone as to block signal and the issue came back.
Now I'll try the same with NRG, yep it seems like it's when the phone loses signal the screenwon't come back afterwards.
I'll try the same in stock rom next...
Yes, it did it in stock too but not so bad, it seems like after few attempts the screen worked againgvs. on bulletproof didn't
Ok, I found this in some other thread...
[QUOTE8. Black Screen - Phone will not wake-up
I'm accidentally find out and solved the problem of Black Screen during in-coming call (BulletProof 2.2.0). By replacing the service.jar from the previous version (BulletProof 2.1.0) with the intention to get rid of the CRT file in my system, by doing this I am also discovered that the black screen problem is gone. However, this problem can be easier solved by simply dis-able the screen-on/off animation setting instead of replacing the service.jar with the one from previous build which doesn't have CRT.
It's worth to be note that during my old days with the HTC HD2 running Nandroid I've encountering similar problem of black screen when waking up the phone and it was caused by the CRT as well. This, at least happened to me with more than 3 Rom, including the famous AmeriCanAndroid, HyperDroid and Tytung's ...
So if you are experiences Black Screen problem, please check to see if you did flashed the CRT and/or enable it? ][/QUOTE]
Can somebody tell me to how do I check this?
Thanks,

Constant issues with rooted S4.

Hi all,
Long time lurker of XDA and Android user/modder since before Gingerbread. I want to apologize in advance if this post is either in the wrong section, and/or if something similar has already been answered/solved in another thread. I did multiple searches with nothing coming up as a direct hit, or even close for that matter.
I recently purchased an S4 from VZW (Mid-Late July). I rooted and installed TWRP 5.2.0.2 (Forgive me if that's not the exact version...) and flashed AOSP ROMs here and there. After a month or so, I started coming across an issue within all ROMs where I couldn't receive or make calls without my phone either freezing or rebooting. Anything I flashed, or modded, failed to remedy this. I tried different GApps packages, 4.2.2 and 4.3 ROMs, different kernels, and both radios, and absolutely NOTHING solved this. I searched everywhere (Even rootzwiki, forgive me fellow XDA members!), and could not find anyone with the same issue.
I attempted upgrading to TWRP 2.6.0.0 and even tried CWM, and that didn't help either. Eventually, things got so bad that I couldn't boot into ANY ROM, 4.2.2 or 4.3. After nearly 10 hours of trying to unbrick my phone, I finally managed to install Beanstalk 4.3, and while it was working incredibly buggy (Not Beanstalk's fault, the developer is a great developer!) nor could I make calls, I could still send texts and emails. I was able to FINALLY get the Odin3 application to work when I got home from work, and was able to flash the stock MDK image. From there I followed the steps to properly root and install TWRP 2.6.0.0. I installed Slim's Beta 5 4.3 ROM and GApps and everything was working properly! Calling, everything! However, when I made a reboot, it froze. Stuck in the "Samsung Unlocked" screen for over an hour. I pulled the battery, booted into recovery and did a factory reset/cache and dalvik wipe. It still didn't boot. From there I did a full wipe, and data format, installed Beanstalks newest 4.3 ROM and GApps, and everything loaded properly. Then I couldn't make or receive calls without the same issue. I then did the superwipe/format and installed PAC's newest nightly and GApps package, and was able to make calls, but then got stuck when rebooting, even after factory resets and cache/dalvik wipes. After multiple attempts, I gave up and reflashed the stock MDK Samsung image in Odin3 and am leaving it as is until someone here can help me.
I know this post was incredibly wordy, and I apologize for that, but I wanted to give you guys as much information as possible and explain where this all started, as it may lead to why I'm having these problems. I appreciate any and all responses and I will answer any question any of you have to the best of my ability. Please someone save me from the horror that is TouchWiz!
-Travis
First, make a NANDROID if it is working perfect on the stock ROM. This is my first step after root and recovery so that I can always fall back on something to check if there is a hardware problem, or just some sort of (system) file problem. Plus, it'll save you time if you have to go back.
Not sure that it matters, but is the stock ROM odexed, or deodexed?
The calling thing reminds me of when you use the phone overseas but it has yet to be unlocked. When you root, do you check with Root Checker? Do you have SuperSU installed? How about BusyBox? I know some items require BusyBox in order to work, but SuperSU should be installed.
As far as SuperSU, do you update it before switching back to the original kernel? One thing I noted is to be absolutely sure you do so in order to not lose your root when completing the rooting steps. I imagine this could cause other problems too.
I also suggest not using TWRP 2.6, which many people will tell you is quite buggy. Best to use the previous version.
The only other things I can suggest is ALWAYS doing a full wipe of everything before adding a new ROM. I used to do this to be sure I incurred no problems on my SGS3, because if I didn't there would always be something buggy happening.
Hope this helps.

Thank you, Heatshiver!
I always do a full wipe unless I'm doing a dirty flash for a ROM update. I will try reverting back to TWRP 2.5.0.2 (Whichever version that happens to be, I think it's .0.2) tonight and report my results. Also, just to clarify, I always make sure I have the most updated SuperSU/Superuser (Usually the former) and BusyBox.
I appreciate the suggestion.

Please someone save me from the horror that is TouchWiz!

sorry for your troubles, but I am always baffled the way people just toss that word "brick" round
Your phone was no anywhere NEAR being a brick...
You simply are playing with fire flashing AOSP ROMs and not knowing how to fix the issues.
AOSP ROMs aren't technically "made" for our phones, the developers do a great job at making it seem like they are, though.
On the SG3 we had an EFS backup that Synergy discovered incase you flash an AOSP and get stuck in roaming which was quite often at first with AOSP, that was easy to fix, but with this phone I would be careful with AOSP ROMs, even myself, with a locked bootloader wouldn't flash anything besides TW, although I am biased as AOSP is my flavor.
I am sorry if this post comes off harsh or any other bad word. It's not meant for that..
Just to kindly ask you to do some research on what a "bricked phone" truly is.
it's a brick.. meaning won't power on, won't get a light when charging, nothing, your phone is just that, a $600 brick. and the only way to bring back to life IIRC is Jtagging the phone.. which requires taking the phone apart and jtagging the motherboard.
I hope you the best my friend.
As much as I love AOSP, I would have to agree with the poster above. I know TW is a pain but there are some pretty good ROMs in that flavor that you shouldn't have any problems with. I've had the no call issue on AOSP, and even though they are nice and free up quite a bit of room it's not worth missing calls over or constantly flashing. Maybe once our bootloader is unlocked things will become different but I'd stick with TW until that happens. I can confirm that TWRP 2.6 is very buggy...you'll have to download the 2.5 version and flash it instead of goomanager they install they latest version everytime I believe.

Next time, I'll just say "Soft-bricked". Thank you for your reply.

You also may want to try CWM recovery if everything else fails. I like TWRP but I kept having the exact problem you have. I switched and haven't had a problem since.

Would you mind telling me which version of CWM you're using? I haven't gone back to CWM since I went back to stock two nights ago.
Thank you for the idea!

I also forgot to mention that I haven't been able to connect to 4G radios since before I started having issues with AOSP ROMs. Currently I'm on Eclipse's TW (With AOSP Styling) ROM. Everything appears to be working fine, other than 4G.
I've tried the SIM pull and reset, and nothing. I've tried manually setting it to LTE only, at least when I was able to do so when AOSP ROMs would boot for me, and nothing. I have a Galaxy Nexus that I booted up with this SIM in and I get 4G signal. Any Ideas?
Also, when I was on the stock image (MDK) I didn't have 4G either.
Has anyone else run across this issue? (MODS: Let a me know if I should create another thread, or search more intensively. I haven't seen a thread with this exact same situation. Plenty of 4G issue threads, but none with the same issues I've previously had, and I think it may have something to do with my past modding.)

Thanks! I installed CWM 6.0.3.6 Touch and flashed Eclipse's TW/AOSP ROM and everything works well, but it's still no AOSP ROM.
-Travis
Hi all,
I'd like to thank everyone for the suggestions.
An update: Currently I'm on Eclipse's TW v2.0 ROM (TW, with AOSP Styling) and everything works properly. My current recovery is CWM 6.0.3.6 Touch, and I'm not experiencing any booting or calling issues. 4G is the only thing I don't have working.
I'm hoping that someone with my same problem can give me another idea so I can get an AOSP ROM working, preferably with 4G. I'm sure some, if not most, understand my dislike of TouchWiz and strong preference towards stock Android/stock Android based ROMs. Slim6596 said that he uses Philz Modded CWM Recovery and has no issues anymore. Could that really be my solution?
Again, thank you all for your help and ideas. I love XDA for this reason.

Hi Slim,
Sorry to bother, but I was curious if you were specifically using the LOKI patched version, or just the regular version?

Thanks!! I installed the Loki-Patched version last night.
I tried flashing two AOSP ROMs, but have no radio signal at all. I'll experiment.

I have stuck to TW ROMs. Pretty soon I'm probably not going to be flashing anything. Switching to Motorola and giving Vz my MDK S4 back. (Reception and dropped call issues.)

I believe you have to do the extended phone function. Its a code on the dial pad and select cdma. I have read this but don't recall where.

Are you referring to the *#*#4636#*#* dialer code? I didn't even try that because in my settings, everything was set to CDMA, but that's something I can try. I have everything backed up, so I can just wipe, install, and try that. If it doesn't work, I can always revert back.
Thanks for the suggestion!

[Q] Only pen works after installing TWRP

I purchased an AT&T SGH-i717 and was told everything worked. When I checked it out, everything seemed fine too. After using it for a couple hours I realized it just seemed to reboot at random. I rebooted into recovery and did a factory reset and wiped the cache. After rebooting it...it would get stuck at the AT&T screen. I then installed the latest stock rom 4.4.2 using Odin and it booted up fine but I got the no sim card error. I put in an AT&T sim card and rebooted but got a sim not provisioned error. I then tried a T-Mobile card and I didn't get the error and it showed signal bars but when I tried to dial it said emergency calls only. I tried a Verizon sim card just to see what kind of error I would get but it was just the same as the T-Mobile sim. I thought it might a corrupted rom so I tried installing the latest nightly CyanogenMod using CWM but got error status 7. I then tried various custom and stock roms including AOKP, BeanStalk, and several different versions of CyanogenMod but always got the same error status 7 msg. I then came across a forum posts stating that CWM no longer works for the SGH-i717. I downloaded the latest TWRP touch recovery and was able install the latest stable CyanogenMod but it would not boot past the animated CyanogenMod logo even after sitting for over an hour. At that point I gave up and decided to just go back to the stock rom. I rebooted into TWRP and the slide to unlock would not work anymore. I had to install CWM using Odin which allowed me to flash back to the stock 4.4.2 rom. After doing another factory reset and wiping the cache then rebooting...the touch screen stopped working. I then flashed it back to the stock 4.0.4 rom but the touch screen still does not work. While trying to figure out what happened I realized the pen still works and touch screen buttons on the bottom but thats it. Also the pen only works on the screen and not on the touch screen buttons. I've been messing with this for 3 days and will probably just sell it for parts but wanted to post this problem so if anyone else had this problem they would know what I've already tried. I did also take apart the phone and clean the connections but that didn't help either.
If anyone has a suggestion for something I haven't tried...please let me know. My last attempt will be install the Padawan JB rom from this post:

Thanks
Right out of tge gate, there is no stock 4.4.2 for this device. Not official anyway. 4.1.2 is official OS.
Status 7 means your recovery needs updating.
CWM does work and the newest CWM touch is just dandy.
I would try going all the way back. You need to be totally clean.
Factory
Cache
Davlik
Format
Go to Kies and go with emergency firmware recovery.
Get back to stock and see what is working.
Clean clean clean, the best way for anyone to help you. You would be at the best starting point.
Maybe do a little reading as many of your issues have been documented and solved. None of them are major.
Start from scratch and folks can get you running again.

Thanks for replying...I hadn't used Kies in awhile becuase it never seemed to work right. I downloaded the latest version and it looks like they made a lot of improvements. I did the factory restore and wiped the cache then installed the latest firmware thru Kies. Everything seemed to work fine but after rebooting the touch screen doesn't work at all, not even with the pen. The touch screen buttons seem to still work but its stuck at the AT&T Ready2go screen because I can't hit cancel or get started buttons.
Thanks

well my friend, you had the phone apart once already, I am no expert, but my guess is this is no software issue. maybe some connections came loose. in my time here, I have not come across this issue. I do not have the brain pan nor the courage to take my phone apart.
good luck to you.
maybe someone else will mosey on by.

My guess is the digitizer has gone bad if odin &/or kies can't fix the issue at hand.

Can anyone deodex, debloat, and post a deodexed and deobloated N915PVPU5DQI5?

Edit: They do keep coming!
I looked into doing it, and there is no way in hell that I should be a) doing it, and b) unleashing it onto the world. It would be bad.
I only have the one phone to test it on and can't risk messing it up and I don't have the experience to work on it if it didn't come out perfectly.
I expect that it will be the last Sprint ROM released for this phone, We're nearing the end of support, so it would be good to have these final versions "fixed" and available
...on the off chance a few developers will jump right in and cook up a few mega ROMs for us.
DQG1 Root and Xposed (rewritten)
On a related note, I installed stock DQA1 DQG1, using the usual CF Autoroot, battery pull thingy process Odin for the ROM and TWRP, then booting once, booting into recovery, and then installing SuperSU and it rooted fine. No loss of settings or anything else as far as I can tell.
I did have to install the latest versions of the Xposed files. After rooting and custom recovery (TWRP works fine), install XposedInstaller_3.1.4.apk first like any other apk, then go to recovery and install Wanam v87.1-alt-sdk23-arm-custom-build, but everything (Xprivacy, etc.) worked fine. Keep in mind, you HAVE to use the "alt" (see the "alt" in the file name above?) version or else it won't work. Samsung made some changes, blah, blah, blah. Much thanks to Wanam!
New side note: I did do a factory wipe, and even after reinstalling everything, and using a ROM that contains bloatware, I still have like 40% more space on the phone. I truly don't know what happened there.
Anyone have any thoughts as to kernel? I downloaded Emotion r26 RC1, and BeastModeKernel 1.0BETA, but I haven't tried them yet.
EDIT: Emotion r26 RC1 works fine, but it doesn't seem like CPU freqs are ever going to stick.
No surprise that neither Emotion nor BeastModeKernel worked; I haven't seen anything else that may.
Thoughts anyone?
Both kernels are good, emotion has a few more options to tweak but I took an update a month or two ago and run NotEdge ROM fine , I just use SO launcher with it because I like TW, also latest xposed is 86.1 and I wish I could do what your asking but it probably would be just as bad you'll be fine with that ROM I just suggested it has everything u just requested just make a nandroid and do it at home in case you do something wrong you can always ODIN back your firmware

D'oh!!
Eating a little crow here. So far, there have been two three 742 updates, maybe there will be more. Who knows?
But I edited the title of the first post. Again. Again. 741 times.
Do you guys have a link to the stock unrooted rom? My phone is royally screwed right now and still stock. I want to do a clean flash and see if that fixes it.
Over a year later, and the still keep coming.
Hmmmm.
I did take another gander around, but it seems that I would need Linux to do it correctly, so I am still opting out of doing it myself.

They all arrive here: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note-edge/SM-N915P/ eventually.
Hello i got a note 4 Sprint MM 6.0.1 N910PVPU5DQI5 . i am from Argentina, and i bought the phone used from a guy from USA. (i don`t know how but it`s working with the bands here but i dont know if 4g is working, the guy says it works, maybe i don`t have 4g singal in my zone) .
the phone works fine, but has some srpint stuff and ads that bother me. so i flashed TWRP , and now i am looking for any roms and kernels to flash.
for example, is safe to flash this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-sprint/development/rom-updated-1-14-2017-t3538051
or should i change something first ???.
