Has anyone seen a cradle for the TD2 yet? I've got a Brodit mount in my car with the cradle for the Kaiser, but I'm after a new one now.
Received this from Brodit when I asked about a D2 mount:
"Hi!
For the moment we can’t say any clear date but please check the web within a couple of weeks.
Best Regards"

Just Pre-Ordered Mine
Hi
Just ordered mine from DSL.
http://www.dsldevelopments.com/brodit/Holder/HTC+Touch Diamond 2 T5353-Brodit-Holder.asp
Can't wait till it lands.
Looking at the picture on the site, it's not obvious exactly what part of the dashboard it attaches to and how?

Brodit holders come in two parts, a custom bit that holds the phone which is unique for each phone, and the proclip bit designed for your car. Where exactly on the dash it fits depends on which which car you have and which proclip you buy for your car. You're best off calling to find out, although most of them seem to have an option to fit over the central air vents.
Hi,
Any update??
I have preordered from mobilefun but still nothing.
Hi,
Got my cradle today from mobilefun. Just need a reliable navigation software.
Ordered mine from mobilefun yesterday, came this morning, fits great

What one did you get?, and did you get a in car charger with it?
I'm looking for one that attaches to the dash/air ventthat will also support a chrger.
Was looking at the Brodit one, and although they do look quite nice, £50+ for the holder and clip is a little steep in my mind.
I got the passive one, I already have a HTC car charger (with a pretty blue light). I only got the phone part as I already had the vent mount for my car from my previous phone. Thats the benefit really - you only need to change the phone bit. The Brodit mounts are a bit expensive but the quality is excellent and the phone fits really well

Cheers - one last question - I see the tilt and swivel, but to the rotate though 90°, so the phone can be viewed horitontally (i.e. when using it as a Sat Nav)?
Yes the mount is in two parts, the bit that attached to the car and the bit that the phone goes in. The connection between the two is a swivel joint
I've just ordered one HTC Touch Diamond2 / T5353 Car Upgrade Kit - CU S240 from here, better says - preordered.
It says it will be avaible in 10 days or more...

I have this item ordered from mobilefun.co.uk, they say 2 - 3 days and it'll be in stock, but I wouldn't be so sure about that.
This is the same type of car kit I used for my Diamond 1, and that one worked very well, so I don't mind waiting for this one.
Oh, expansys says they won't have this car kit in stock until June 23rd.. so, I'm prepared to be waiting anything up until then!
still not avaible CU S240...
received today from:

I have just bought the proclip and passive holder from dsl, then I bought a car charger from ebay, I will post what they are like as soon as they arrive, and if I'm clever enough to fit them in my car.
11/06/09
The cradle arrived today, it turned out that I actually ordered the wrong proclip, I intended to buy the one that bind to the right A/C vent of my (RHD) Corsa, but instead I ordered one that binds onto the bottom left of the dashboard. As it was though, I actually think the ordering error turned out for the better, the postion of the phone was still very readable, easily reachable, and it means that when I plug in the phone charger I won't see a wire dangling all the way across my dashboard, which would be unsightly as well as inconveineant. I would recommend this position of proclip for everyone, I know it seems strange that you need to look down at the phone, but when I took it out for a spin today it worked great.
Unsuprisingly, the cradle itself was fantastic way worth the extra money I paid for, the phone actually slips into position, I was sceptical at first about perfect fits, but the fit really was impeccable.
The fitting process was simple and straightforward (if I can do it anyone can) but requires a bit of brute force, but in my opinion that just came to show how sturdy the kit is. You know it's not going to go anywhere.
Which Car Adapter do you recommend guys for the Hero?
Ive seen these:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WINDSCREEN-MO...ries_MobilePhoneBatteries?hash=item23038de0be
This looks a bit cheap
What about this one, looks half decent:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AIO-PREMIUM-C...ries_MobilePhoneBatteries?hash=item23049b1982
Any other suggestions peeps?
I use a Brodit active mount. Looks good but is not cheap (about £30 ish in UK). But then I just slide the phone in and charging starts as soon as i switch on the ignition. I have used Brodits for my last 3 phones and all have worked well.
Cool you got a link for it, found it about £34.99 anywhere recommended?
Thanks dude
Got mine from prepaymania - it was £27.04 including delivery. Now it is £28.22.
They were fine, but got let down by the lying toads in the Royal Mail who insisted they had tried to deliver but I was out. The note saying that got delivered the next day by the postman! So had to collect it from my Royal Mail depot. But NOT Prepaymania's fault.
BTW I have mine hard wired in via a ciggy lighter behind the dash. Don't try wiring it in direct or you will fry your Hero because the ciggy lighter adaptor houses a voltage reducer. No wires show and I mount it using a car specific Brodit car mount as well.
Cheers dude. I don't want tyo drill in to the dahs, do they have a sticky thing that has to go on the dash as well? Or is there another way of doing it.
appreciate the link
Look at Brodit's site here. Click on "choose the mount for your vehicle" and put in the details. They do fittings for almost every car going and none of them involve any drilling.
You then need to find somebody who stocks them. Normally easy (prepaymania may) for more common cars. May have to wait a bit longer for unusual ones
Make sure you order one for RHD cars if in the UK!
I order the one on ebay but It broken after couple of twists. After a good glue it works perfectly!
I do not know if it affects th G2 battery life a lot but i use one of my blackberry phone chargers i think it's the one for the bold 9000
so far i didn't notice much change in battery life plus it chargers more than 70~90% of battery life in about 30-50 minutes.
just to add to my previous post. I have a silicon case on my Hero and that won't fit on standard car holder. My trick is to light it up so it warm up and expand it a bit and it fit perfectly!!
Ive bought one off ebay now, a herbert reicher one! I think thats what it is called!
Will see how i get on with it!

Avoid londonmagicstore on eBay.
I bought one of these holders and they sent me one that was meant to be a for a Nokia N97 and then insisted it would fit the Hero too despite the size difference. My N96 I had at the time fit so an N97 or Hero would just fall straight out lol. Sent back and got a refund luckily.
If anyone could recommend a car holder that would be suitable for running the Hero in landscape mode I would be grateful, the Brodit and Herbert Richter ones don't look to be secure enough.
I'm looking at one on Mobilefun that seems to be the correct version of the one from Funkyfin's eBay link.
A few days ago I bought an HTC car kit. Unfortunately as a new user here, I'm not yet allowed to post external links but the name of the kit is "CU-S210". Just google it and you should get a lot of results.
It says HTC on the box but if you look closely, it seems HTC buys from Herbert Richter (the flexible mount is labeled "HR" and on the cradle, there's a "made in germany" and I assume, it is HR as well since it looks exactly like the HR ones).
My opinion: I haven't gotten round to testing it on long trips but so far it works quite well. The phone is easy to get in and out but it still feels safely in place, even in landscape mode.
Well, if you drive a landrover through the rocky wilderness on a daily basis, I assume it wouldn't hold forever (however, then you probably wouldn't use a phone for navigation anyway ^^ ) but for regular street use I see no problems with landscape mode.
My brodit holder for the Hero works fine in landscape mode - in fact that is how I use it most of the time with my sat nav app. It has a ball mount so swivels easily and holds the Hero very securely
Anyone recommend an in car mount for TP2 (for when using as sat nav).
Thanks
I've used Brodit mounts for several HTC phones, and have been very satisfied. The one for the TP2 will let you mount vertically, or horizontally with the keyboard open or closed. They're a bit pricey, but well worth it.
I've used one of the Rocketfish generic mounts from Bestbuy before, which is about $25. It actually worked pretty well, but is also quite chunky -- definitely not the most svelte option available. However, it does have the added advantage of being versatile enough to hold a variety of products (MP3 player, TP2, GPS, etc.)
Brodit mount
I have just realised that I had a Brodit mount, it was for the dash not the windscreen, but I have just adapted my old Ipaq mount to it and it looks and works a treat. I had never heard of Brodit before, but they are really good.
Have drill will travel!!

i ordered one based on a recomondation from here from obostore.com. it is built for the touch pro 2 so it snaps in perfectly, rotates 360 and keyboard can slide open. best of all its 5 bucks with free shipping. its coming from hong kong so it took about 10 business days. the one negative as that the suction is not as strong as id would like it to be but if you set the gooseneck where you want and leave it alone its fine. i hope that helps. you cant go wrong for 5 bucks. let me know if you have any questions.
Hi all!
Just wondering if anyone could recommend a car holder for my Mozart...
I have looked on ebay and they all look like the cheap clampy type that will no doubt press the volume rocker and the camera button...
Anyone know of any decent ones??
cheers
Keith
Brodit with in built charger. I've used Brodit mounts for a couple of years with other HTC models. They are really good quality.
Just Search "Brodit Mozart" on Ebay. It is quite pricey but worth it.
I got mine from Ebay from "drivesafeandlegal2". They stock 2 types, one with a charger built in and one with out.
They just have a flat back with screw holes, so will either need a septate bracket to mount to your dash or a suction mount. Brodit make these as well.
Hope this helps
Brian
ended up getting this

and this has to be one of the best phone holders i have ever owned, holds it perfectly, everything is accessible, and no wobble when driving at all

I've been looking for the same thing, swivel capabilities is a must. Anyone find a good one?
Get a decent quality universal car mount (with the four prongs) and then just buy a cheap fixation for your Lumia. That way you can keep the mount when you eventually change phones... That's what I've been doing for the last few years...
I've got a telescopic Herbert Richter car mount which looks like it's the same as this one (http://www.ebay.com/itm/iGrip-Herbe...472900?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item48454f5744) and I've been very pleased with it. Unlike some of the cheaper ones I've had it has never lost suction and come unstuck. Most eBay sellers who have cheap Lumia 920 car mounts will sell the phone-specific part of their mounts separately for a couple of euros...
Well .. i dont like the universal ones to be honest because the ones i used never where as usfull as expected. will have a loook at the richter one.
Which car charger can you recommend. I am reading a few amazon.co.uk reviews and they are not to pleased with the ones offered
The one I use (and the one that looks like mine that I posted a link for) isn't one of those universal ones that can be adjusted to hold any size of phone... I don't like those ones either... The ones Im talking about just use a four prong system where you can attach phone specific "faceplates" like you can see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683631 so it looks like it's made for the phone you use it with... Sorry, it's not easy to explain but you should be able to get an idea of what I'm talking about.
does your one come with a car charger already?
got different from belkin etc .. just looking for the power part of a car mount now.
will see if i find a universal holder later
hrmm, not sure if we are allowed to post links on here...
anyways, i bought this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00AEO3U7W/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
took a gamble as there was no reviews, current review is from myself.
Its pretty solid, I tend to always buy ones for the phone as I'm not a big fan of the all in one mounts, and the nokia one i got for my partners 710 is terrible, won't even hold my phone just slips out constantly. I've got a car charger from maplin to go with it that does do a 1000ma charge as my old charger didn't charge the phone enough to keep up with navigon.
Its as solid as some premium brand mounts i've bought in the past, as good as you can get with one suction cup. (imo) how long it lasts is another thing, but for the price I thought it was pretty neat, a friend borrowed it and immediatly ordered one too.
Its very sturdy and the easist phone mount i've used to slip in and out, only thing that did initially put me off is the fit isn't 100% secure, theres very slight movement, i don't think its even 1mm, thought it would rattle but seems fine in the car.
well i just ordered this for my charging:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002C3AFHG/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
hope you didnt have this one
and i will have a closer look at the amazon offer, thanks
stead, look at the second photo of the one you bought, see the four prongs? That means the front panel comes off so yours is one of the ones that I was talking about that can be used with any type of phone (as long as you get the right front panel holder piece)...

Ah, i thought you meant those univseral one size fits all ones that clamp onto the phone! everyphone holder i've bought has had the 4 prongs, but everytime I buy one I can never find just the phone bit on its own and just end up buying the whole thing again

I've very rarely seen them advertised on their own but if you ask, most eBay sellers who sell the dirt cheap car holders will sell you the phone specific attachment on it's own in my experience and usually for only a couple of euros including postage. Postage must be cheaper in Hong Kong than it is in France...
Arkon Slim-Grip Floor Mount SM525-S
FWIW I have been using this model for about 4 years- first with my Tilt2 and now with the Lumia 920 (both without a case and with an Otterbox Defender case as the holder can expand). I had an older version for the Tilt2 which didn't allow for 180deg movement (you couldn't move the phone to landscape position while inside the holder) so when I got the 920 I was able to purchase just the Slim-Grip portion and keep the flexible pedestal part that I already had.
The 4 legs on the Slim-Grip are not permanent- they come in a little bag and you slide them into the body of the phone holder. The move left and right to allow for access to ports on the phone that may not be centered on the phone itself. It also comes with extra legs that are a different shape in case you need a different fitment for your phone (think they are shorter?). The bottom of the Slim-Grip is the part that moves- you push it down with the bottom of your phone and it expands enough to let you then push the top of the phone into the holder so the top legs support it. It isn't obvious from the pictures on Arkon's site at first but you will see a line running across the holder when you look at the pictures and that is where the movement occurs.
I am able to put my phone in the holder with one hand and, because the pedestal part is mounted to one of the passenger seat floor bolts, it's very stable. It's hard to move the pedestal to bend it to different shapes, which is a good thing, because it won't flop all over the place when driving. I can use the 920 without a case in it and with an Otterbox Defender, either way is fine. It allows easy access to the audio and power ports. My friends stick their phones in it too and it holds them just as well (iPhones, Galaxy S3's, Blackberry's etc......).The mount does not impede passenger comfort, however they may not be able to just flop their left leg against the center console because the mount would then be rubbing against the plastic and may leave marks, at least in my Subaru Legacy.
I have used this mount without any problems for close to 5 years now and everyone is jealous of it because it is so secure and convenient. I have no problems recommending it 100%. Good luck.

You can now order a specific Brodit 920 - un-powered, cig-socket, and hardwired. Excellent mounts, especially the powered ones - amazing how nice it is to just slide the phone in and not worry about fiddling with charger cables...

Oh OK I understand what you're saying now; I thought you were referring to an issue like the screws scratching the phone or something like that.
I didn't have to screw anything into my dash. I had a mount that clips onto the dash and a holder which is screwed into said mount. Very easy.
