What's the best way to get back to stock? What file do I use in ODIN or should I just flash a stock zip, where is a stock zip that isn't rooted, thanks!

Stock what? Touchwiz is stock depending on when you bought it. If you want stock honeycomb check out sticky in development section. Stock touchwiz, there is a thread for kmb without root and then upgrade to kme. Check out overcome thread for restock for kme stock via Odin.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1119492 Will get you back to stock 3.0. You will have to odin cwm if you want custom recovery again and can then flash 3.1 update in cwm.
So in other words... No there is no way back to stock 3.1 stock recovery through odin directly? We have to use cwm. Usually with a samsung device someone creates an odin package. For retail units 3.1 is stock. I figured there would be a one click.

Far as i know the only odin solution is 3.0. You could then accept the 3.1 ota instead of flashing via cwm.
Hey guys does anyone know how to get stock recovery back..I'm on a stock rooted Tom with stock kernel..I'm looking to unroot but i want to see first if thief is an easier way to unroot instead of downloading the stock .tar file if I'm already on stock.

Here's a thread with stock odin, recovery, etc. If that's not what you're looking for just browse the development forums a bit.
okay so I read through some of the threads and I still don't know how to fix my issue. I rooted my phone using Odin v 1.85 and used siyah 3.4.2. I did it successfully and everything was good. I then gave the phone to my cousin and he said he performed a factory reset to get rid of everything on the phone ( contacts ,etc). Now when I turn on the phone it shows the samsung galaxy display with the triangle and then the screen goes black and just blinks. It still goes back into download mode I just dont know what to do to fix the problem. I know I'm a noob but please HELP!!!
Development section. You'll find the stickies that show how to flash stock packages with Odin. Go back to stock to fix your issue. You should then be able to load a new kernel and flash a custom rom.
Oh, and never let that cousin touch the phone again.

You will need to root first. If you did not flash the stock plus root package already, flash that, and then install a custom kernel which has ClockworkMod Recovery. Then you can flash any firmware.
There is a good guide linked in my signature.

Thanks. I Used "Odin3 One-click Downloader I-777 UCKH7 Stock + Root No Bootloaders" to go back to stock.
I'm going to install Mobile Odin lite, I already found the flash kernel for the I-777. After installing both of these I should be good to flash the ROM of my choice by just putting the rom on the sd card right?

Flash a kernel with ClockworkMod Recovery, then boot into recovery and flash the firmware. Mobile Odin can't handle the CWM flashable zip format.
There is a Siyah kernel for gingerbread that would give you CWM so you could then flash a custom rom. It would be in the development section. Just make sure you grab the version for gingerbread and not ics

I assume you mean nandroid backup from ClockworkMod Recovery? No. It's mainly a space issue, where you want to store them, because they take up quite a bit of space, especially if you have several.

The general answer you will get around here is try them all. You can see what I like by looking in my signature.
I like both Shostock3 and the collective's rom. I don't think there is a bad rom on here.

Depends on which OS version firmware you want.
I like Eclair and Froyo
Hi XDA
At the moment I'm on CM10.1 Nightly 20130507 but I miss some TW features and I want to go back to stock. Ofcourse I googled for some guides and found this one. This guide states that I can use Triangle Away on every rom and that I can flash stock firmware afterwards. On the thread of Triangle Away however, it says that I have to be on stock firmware before using it. Right now, I don't know in which order I shoulld do it.
Should I do a factory reset etc. on CM, then do Triangle Away and then flash stock back or should I flash stock fw, then root, then triangle away and then unroot?
Also, how do I know which firmware I should flash? My IMEI starts with 353, if that's important.
Thanks in advance
Mutn
Have you thought about simply flashing a custom stock based rom? Wanam lite or omega? Best option IMHO

For now, I really want to go back to stock.
So you want to unroot completely? Er ok.
Well flash a stock based custom rom THEN run triangle away, then flash official stock rom.
Amazing what applying logic can do

Well I find it akward that I have to flash another custom Touchwiz based Rom before I can do triangle away and flash a stock rom. In the guide I found, someone said you can use the guide no matter what's on your phone...
So then why did you write this thread???
I find it awkward that you miss touchwiz features so instead of flashing touchwiz, you're going to unroot. I can't say I get it.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Well, now I'm on CM. I want to go back to stock rom + unrooted (let's say I need my phone ready for warranty).
So in that guide I found that I can use Triangle Away no matter what's on my phone, but on the official Triangle Away thread, I found that I should only use it on Stock firmware. It's contradictionary.
I'm not convinced triangle away works on my rom. It just says "reset" but on touchwiz roms, it actually reboots.... so not sure its doing anything

So can someome please give the steps in the right order to go from CM10.1 to STOCK TouchWiz firmware and to reset binary counter for my warranty?
I did but I'll repeat myself.
Flash rooted touchwiz rom
Use triangle away
Flash official rom
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Okay, I get it. I'll do it soon. But how do I know which official stock fw I have to download? #1234# doesn't work because I'm on a custom ROM.
Nvm, double post.
Pick a country. Pick a Carrier. Download the latest from sammobile.com

Easiest way is flash via odin. You will lose root that way. But if you want stock 4.1.2 and keep root then PTMR3 has a rooted stock rom in development thread
If It Aint Fresh Then It Aint Me
Thanks I'll check it out.

Here's a great guide for you to flash back to stock. It's from June of this year and includes the links to the software you will need. Be sure and thank BlownFuze if you use it! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42806745&postcount=360
