Since nobody else posted one, this is my attempt at an ICS theme for rooted stock Arc ROM.
The theme has been tested and is working on version 4.0.1.A.0.283 and 4.0.2.A.0.42, and reported working on .58, however as always, install it at your own risk.
MASSIVE thanks to XperienceD, we now have a working release 5 with CWM installer! I did almost nothing on this release, so all credit to XperienceD on getting this one out there!
Please note, this is a framework THEME file. For the launcher (including icons) and ICS style lock screen, use LauncherPro and Widget Locker. PLEASE don't post here complaining that it hasn't changed your launcher icons.
New in Release 5:
Volume/Progress bars now ICS style, thanks to XperienceD.
ICS boot animation added.
Easy ClockworkMod installer
How to install:
1. Download and install the SE Extreme Tweaker tool from HERE.
2. Following the instructions, install the ClockworkMod Recovery for your Arc.
3. Place the theme ZIP file somewhere on your SD card, root directory is always an easy one.
4. Reboot into CWM recovery by powering up and repeatedly pressing volume down.
5. TAKE A BACKUP! I am not responsible for bootloops so always take a backup just in case
5. Once backed up, select Install ZIP from SD Card, and chose ZIP to install.
6. Navigate to the theme ZIP file, select install, once installed, reboot.
7. Enjoy! (Hopefully)
Note: For the ICS style gradient background, apply the Onyx theme.
Anyway, hopefully this will work fine for everyone as it is.

I was thinking about this. Basically what has happened is I got hold of all the theme resources I could and began porting them over. I'm really REALLY new to this so I'm not familiar enough with how it works to feel comfortable doing a lot of XML editing so that would involve editing over 100 images, which I don't have time to do.
This leads me on to something I was going to say anyway. If someone more experienced than me at this wants to have a go at the battery without %, and also getting the volume/progress bars to the new ICS style then please do!
I can supply resources for the progress bars but I have no idea how to go about editing the XML so it reads from the images as opposed to just the colours.
Thanks

It can't be flashed via recovery, should have said that, sorry! Are you definitely moving framework-res.apk and SemcGenericUxpRes.apk to Framework, and SystemUI.apk to the App folder?
yeah bud, status bar changes and so does tick boxes but nothing else, i am using arc s firmware .....

Thats really weird, the other icons and most other things like that are stored in the SystemUI.apk, but there are resources scattered across all 3 files so it's weird that the status bar changes but nothing else does. Are all the other resources the stock Sony Ericsson ones?
yeah just stock firmware apart from dooms kernel

It may have something to do with using the Dooms Kernel? I don't know how the resources and framework are laid out on that, I've literally only tested it on completely stock firmware except for root.

You need to have a themed launcher to make the icons.
The flash zip doesn't change the icons
Help me :
Can someone upload the stock
1. Android.policy.jar
2. Framework.jar
Its from /system/framework
Please

no man,
the icons in the launcher should be changed by urself,
if u want to change the icons, u should use costum launcher (launcherPro, adw ex, goLauncher, etc) that can be themed ICS,
u can find the theme at market
call me a noob...because i am... i want to theme my player. i dont want to use any of the roms tho because i understand there are a lot that parts of it do not work so i am still using the stock rom. However i have changed th kernel to something thats smoother. im going to post screen shots but what i would like to change is my status bar...is this possible with themeing? and if i want to theme i just go the the theme section find one i like and flash it? will i have to set up my settings again like u do when u flash a new rom? sorry sort of new to all this

I understand you. If you dont want to flash a rom and 'd stay on stock , you can modify your status bar manually(needs root and root explorer) Go to /system /app/System UI and press view. Go to /res/drawable-hdpi and you'll see all the image files, and you can change what you want

I think there wont be a pack only for the status bar, and if this exists, you must be deodoxed to install that.

Hello XDA, and my question is: ''How I can set default theme on CM9?'' :good:
In CM7, I modify build.prop and set default theme trought parameters: persist.sys.themeId= & persist.sys.themePackageName=.
But, how in CM9? Doesn't appear this parameters in build.prop of CM9.
HOW!?
PD: How I can set default?... WHEN YOU INSTALL MY CM9 ROM!
Help me, please! :crying:
Thanks! Cheers!
Hey, what can you see if you go to settings, under "interface" tab, go to Themes
Provide any screenshot

No. What I mean is I am finishing up an new ICS ROM. And I want a different theme to boot into DEFAULT the first time it boots without the person to need to select it. Example: Sense4 Theme in Cyanogenmod's theme chooser. Have that one boot as default the first time after initial install of Custom ROM instead of System theme. "WHERE IS THAT SETTING LOCATED!" I Know how to choose a theme in theme chooser.

In CM7 you can choose the default theme by editing the build prop. Then when that CM7 rom is installed, that custom theme is used instead. There has to be a way in CM9 too. HELP I'm not making one for X10 but found this Post asking the same question I am asking. This answer would help alot of us Devs

FYI
Hi. I have installed Pardus HD version 4.1.2 S4 Edition FINAL. After finishing the installation, I have then installed Deluxe Settings through Play Store and have made some tweaking using it. Is that all that I need to be able to fully "enjoy" the greatness of the ROM?
If so, am I able to flashed another theme to this ROM as I am not a fan of the white S4 theme that has been included with the ROM?
Really hope to have an answer to this. I'm merely a noob and needs confirmation before I accidently brick my phone.
Thank you in advance!

You should be able to flash themes, it's not highly recommended to flash theme on an existing theme, but I do it all the time and I've never had a problem. The worst that could happen is the you get a bootloop, just reinstall the rom and that's it

Hi Danny. If I were to change the theme, I should get the theme that is compatible with the JKay Deluxe Settings that I have right? Its that all?
If I were to get bootloop, will I be able to easily go to Recovery mode?
Thanks in advance.

To fully use the customization that jkay provide you should flash jkay compatible themes like this one, this is my favourite... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2165980.
Yeah, just hold volume up, menu and turn off key at the same time, and it will reboot in to recovery
Hi, i just want to share something i did for my self, and i use it for a while without problems or bug's or..
It's a Extended power Menu and some Toggles for STOCK ICS B.1.100 Xperia U.
Xperia U its the only device i have so i don't know if it will work with Sola, P or ...
Make a backup of your original files before flashing.
Boot in to CWM, wipe cache partition(that's all i did) and flash the mod you want.
AND.... if you brick your phone its ONLY YOUR fault.
Here you go
Power menu
Toggles
All in one mod
Credits
@..::Matr!x::.. for his Power Menu mod
@ everyone on xda for the toggles
@ me...
Edit: since im using locked bootloader stock ics u, the "reboot to recovery" doesn't work on cwm touch v5.5.0.4. but it works just fine with cwm v.6.0.1.2
It works great. thanks ..
Xperia U
STOCK ICS B.1.100
dude i juz flashed ur all in one zip, it start phn n show sony xperia logo n again reboot not starting phne, i used my backup to normal
@bcik did you flash the "all in one" or .. ?? im asking because grrish had a problem.
@grrish i have tested a lot the individual zips, but not the "all in one", but still i don't really think that there is something wrong with it, its the same script and the same files..
Maybe you can try to wipe dalvik cache too.. before flashing, but it should wipe the dalvik automatically when you reboot the phone after flashing.
So.. do you have any other framework related mods that could conflict?
Are you on stock ICS B.1.100 Xperia U, or ...???
Yes dude I'm on stock ICS B.1.100. Rooted with locked bootloader no any framework juz simple root!
And juz nw tried ur toggle zip it worked great

congrats ... beautifull mod :good:
can't try now 'cause i'm on jb
The Allinone mod, changes the background of settings too? Because I installed your clean rom and before installing this mod, I don't remember of having a settings backgound looking like a dark granite wall and I don't like it XD
Thanks for trying @Archidelic , if you forget about the background... does the mod work as it should?
This mod was created by me for me.. and it was easier to make the framework with a static background
There are 2 other options.. transparent background and.. "normal" like on stock, so now.. ill (try to) make a new framework that changes background according to the applied theme
Edit:
OR.. if you dont want to wait.. change the background images by your self
Background image is stored in
framework-res\res\drawable-nodpi\semc_bg.png and semc_bg_bright.png.
framework-res\res\drawable-land-hdpi\semc_bg.png
OK, so here you are.. power menu mod that changes the ui background depending on the theme, BUT... the dialpad is TRANSPARENT.
This transparency is the reason why people are using the white JB-ported phonebook e.t.c. for "fixing" the transparency in dialpad

Oh thanks for trying to change the background! You didn't had to XD
But sad that the dial pad is transparent now, isn't there a fix?
Would prefer if it was the status bar that was translucent, I love it that way, but i didn't find any Toggles mod with translucent status bar
