I was successful in restoring the touch screen.
Cause the loss of touch on my machine because i flashed wrong rom.I flashed this rom. I also do not understand why I did so. It is stupid, no.... really very idiot. The only thing what i still remember that is i install it when i want go to sleep
After two days of struggling with many tutorials on internet and flashed my phone so many times with many different rom. I was happy to finally restore the touch screen. It was a beautiful day.So I wrote this tutorial to share everybody like me and hope my toturial could help you.
When your sk17i has same problem like me. Calm down and follow absolute accuracy my guide.
Step 1: Use flashtool flash kernel CM10 (here) or rage-kernel (here). I was used CM10. ( If want flash custom kernel, u must unlock bootloader. This is toturial.)
Step 2: Flash rom Ultimate HD 2.0.2 but chose device is ACTIVE (dont choose your device). Finished, turn on your phone and wait 5 mins. And i gues your phone will stop at black screen. Dont worry about that, remove battety and go to next step.
Step 3: Flash again above rom (ultimate HD 2.0.2) but choose MINI PRO. Finished, do not turn on your phone.
Step 4: Flash .62 stock rom for sk17i (download here). And finished toturial, your touch screen will restore.

Yes, i restored my touch screen by this way.
I dont sure my toturial will work with ST15i because i nerver test on st15i, i fixed success on sk17i.
You can try here. It maybe work because have many persons success.

Hi! I tried it on my SK17i. Just want to clarify, after flashing ROM for MINI PRO in step 3, what exactly do I do (You said don't turn on)? do I flash stock ROM while in the recovery screen? Or turn off phone by pulling the battery off before flashing stock ROM?
I can't make it work yet, but I am still trying. Nevertheless, thank you because this is so far the only method that gets my touch screen working after flashing custom ROM for Active but no good after completing the steps.:good:

You need an unlocked bootloader to flash the kernel and yes these kernels are prerooted

1. Download CM10 kernel or rage kernel ( I used rage 3.2)
2. Flash the kernel
3. Flash Ultimate HD 2.0.2 rom and choose the one for active <- and my phone booted with touchscreen working :victory::victory::victory::victory::victory:

Hi there guys!
Im having a problem with my samsung galaxy 5 (gt-i5500).Yesterday for some reason my phone just shut down and when i turned it back on, it was looping all the time.I was using MAD ROM 3.0.I can go to recovery menu trough odin, and all sow tried to reinstall it severall times with different roms, no luck, always rebooting.What seems to be the problem?I heard about some fastreboot thing but there is no guide or any other source that could help me.

I wanted to install it, but in the baseband section my baseband was marked bad.So i didn't install it .Thanks for the help!

In my case I cannot find the Samsung ROM for the Canadian version ( I5500MUGJJ7 ) as can be seen here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13958293&postcount=1 I'm not the only one.
End result is I've bricked my phone I think (but hoping NOT).
I don't think by following that tutorial I made a backup so I don't think I can restore - or CAN I?

You need to install your default original samsung rom that you have the first time you got the phone.Install it and it should work fine.I did that.

Thank you for replying.
That's the point, I don't have the original ROM. I was following the tutorial and had NOT realised I wasn't making a backup and I don't think the original author even realized the it would happen that the Canadian ROM would be one of the very few which couldn't be found if things got screwed-up.

1.1 We need to install a boot-loader as the Samsung one is very limited and just plain awful! That said, it wasn’t intended to be used for anything other than the Samsung software so it’s not awful from their point of view but it’s pretty unfriendly to us.

2.4 If you are new to use ClockworkMod recovery manager then before doing anything, please have a look at next screen to learn the navigation keys.
If this works, than we will talk what to do next.
Try different official rom, maybe it will work, you don't have anything to lose.

I don't think it's actually the ROM which is the problem but the "baseband". Twice I followed the tutorial and everything worked until it came time to restart the phone. At which time it went into the loop.
I have unlocked G5 and it is not Virgin Mobile - what now!

Hmm try searching for a "fastboot" method, i really don't know what should be a problem, im not an expert in this :/.Ill try to help you tomorrow again .

Not sure if anyone else has this problem, but when I restored my nook to stock using the 1.4.2 report image the touch screen didn't work. Does anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?

You had 10 touch firmware installed on cm10? You should revert to 2 touch before returning to stock.

What's the best way to do this without being able to touch the screen?
Do any of the Nook kernels support USB to OTG? If so I can try a USB mouse to manipulate the screen

No need for touch when using CWM. Install CM10 from CWM and you're back in business.

Did that, touch screen stil doesn't work. Im pretty sure it's bad hardware. I have another thread open with the details of what i've tried. Feel free to take a peek.

After weeks of fiddling ( I have no clue How I got here!) I think I got CM10 installed now How and where might I find the original Touch firmware to get my Stock touch to work?I have been working on this for almost 6 months! I know I should be on the short Yellow bus But SO help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks... OH I forgot to say please!

I hate to sound slow but I guess I cant help it... So I tap that touch app and initiate it, is there anything that I need to know about how the touch firmware flasher works? IS it a toggle? Are there check boxes I have to tick? Sorry, But I kind of want to know what to expect... I have been going crazy to get to this point! Thanks again!
There are boxes to click to start the process. So it's not started automatically when you click the app, if that's what you're worried about.

Well I am worried about clicking the wrong boxes and such... Is it self explanatory, is it intuitive? I lost the touch capability on the stock Nook and have been trying to get it back for about 6 months, forgive me if I am a little "gun shy". I just want to get it right and be done with it! Thanks!

Depending on what build you have the firmware flasher might look a little different. All in all they all do the same. On the build I have there is only one button to push which will either flash stock (2 touch) or 10 touch.
For the touch screen to work on a stock Barns and Noble Tablet you need to flash it to stock (2 touch). If you already wiped to factory reset you'll have to re install CM 10. Then use the firmware flasher to return to stock. (There may be a simpler way but that is what came to my mind first.)

Well, you can still >disable< these apps in application menu. But I'm still going to try find a fresh rom. Anyway, I contacted Alcatel, they will reply in couple of days. You can PM me about this

Yes you can flash the phone with an unbranded rom, you can even flash it with the monosim rom, if you don't want the dual sim function.
Yes I know a lot of people who did it (they liked the phone features bu they don't need the DS functionality.)

Well, ONE TOUCH Upgrade S 2.8.0 says that my soft is up to date so it didn't flash anything. What way of flashing did you mean? Nandroid backup or flashing with a tool. And do you know a place where to find any ROMs?

Ok well I installed CWM and rooted my phone. I went ahead and got this one. Let's see what's cooking...now if only I can get that boot.img...
I am very happy to report I have created a flashable rom(via CWM or TWRP) which is essentially the same as the default rom on the star, but it has some of the junk apps alcatel pre-loads on the phone like game-loft removed and SuperSU installed.
I created it by getting the firmware.info file for our device, creating a custom update-script (getting the correct partition mounts from the firmware.info) using some pointers from DorianX's AOTI Lite Rom update-script, taking the system directory and boot.img from a nandroid backup after a factory reset, and getting the custpack directory by using a root file explorer to copy it to my sd and subsequently my computer editing the custpack, and finally packaging it together via dsixda's kitchen.
I am still working on slimming it down a little more as there are apps in /system/ that can be removed as well, but I just wanted to see if creating a custom ROM was doable. And it seems it was after 3 days of experimenting
Also got rid of that default hideous white theme by changing a setting in the build.prop.
I can upload it if anyone would like me to.

Read through this thread.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1554982 .. I think it will help you.. I've also read that you need to have the U.S. ICS bootloader.. This aplies if you have the u.k. tab.

Actually i am pretty sure that it is nothing to do with the rom. Because it was already flickering after the first root.
How can i find the US ICS bootloader and what do you mean by UK tab? What is the difference?

Go here.. http://droidbasement.com/galaxy/roms/cm9/p4wifi/ . and flash his bootloader and cwm recovery....for you're tab version.. You could just try another cwm recovery first instead of the bootliader and recovery... I've seen bad versions of cwm floating around causing rolling screens..I personally use infamous twrp recovery...
