Actually it's not, with the latest provided recovery (elsewhere in the dev forum) you can also flash with SUTL. the viewpad will reboot into recovery first and after a few seconds switch to fastboot.
This "new" factory stock ROM should be for newer ones with ITE hardware - great for "experimenting" with custom ones - from now on, nice to have the ability to restore it for warranty exchange, etc. etc.
And, yes, I can confirm that the SUTL will quickly flash the *.nb0 file - making it as good as new again.
swype is the only diffrences i think... so far...
Interesting thought Viewsonic wont release any new official ROMs for Viewpad7 hmm wow I was wrong
Wonder what more is there opposite Swype hmm for sure there have to be something enhanced worth updating?

Another stock rom had only English and Chinese as integrated languages.
A rom with german language would be nice to have...

I have tried to install from SD card under name "firmaware.nb0" but no one were accepted. I will try to do via PC .

i've tried to put it in the uploads folder of the FTP, but pemission denied
You can rebuild the rom using nikikitchen. Or upload your roms using fs2you
or other servers and let others help you.
To footballe: I have the original chinese rom, but without splash screen and radio (non official rom).

I just installed 4.0.4 stock firmware and I rooted it.
I would like to add arabic as supported language. I tried to do it this way :

Have you tried performing the changes using Root Explorer in RW mode?
If you really cannot get it to work, you can just flash a stock unbranded ICS ROM which comes with Arabic by default.

If you cannot get that to work, then I would recommend ROM version I9300XXBLG8 - UK. Get it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610
This does contain arabic fonts (joined) & keyboard, but after flashing this ROM if you have any problems with mobile internet then you will need to flash the correct CSC to your device.

Ok I think I'll do that.
So If I summarize : If I flash the Rom you advised me and then I chose the correct CSC of my region, I will have all further updates from Samsung? And if I have to send back my phone to Samsung for some reason, I will not have any problem? What about the unlock? Will this firmware lock back the phone again? Can I restore safely all System Data and apps from a TitaniumBackup backup?

There is a thread in general, by ckpv5, in which he has shared stock nandroid backups. They are odexed and CID 044 (hence WWE asia). U can use them.
10x, but these nandroid backups don't work for me, because they have only english...
how can I add additional languages??

Thanks... just notice that for 4.0.4, the process is hidden. Need to find another way other than making a custom stock ROM.
Actually for what purpose that you need the stock odex ROM ? I' asking because if you expect to get JB OTA it won't work as JB OTA will check for CID not ROM version,
I'm trying to get back to stock, brandingfree germany or branded o2 germany. both work for me. actually my CID is for o2 germany, but there is no RUU for o2 germany...

I have x.xx.707.x Nandroid Backup
To make a ROM, doesn't matter for which region as long as you have the required files.
To make a ROM for 1.18.401.1... just simply use nlooooo's decrypted ROM.zip found here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2184113 and I also still have the odexed Desire_X_1_18_system.tgz uploaded by internall77 somewhere mid Dec 2012 which was my first base for DX ported ROM to my One V.

I'd great to make a ROM fro decrypted nlooooo's files but I don't know how to do it (I extracted system.img and tried to open but it said it was corrupted). If you could tell me how to do it it would be great (otherwise I'll look in the internet to see if I can manage by myself).
And about the purely sotck odexed 1.18.401.1, I'd rather prefer the one with standar language.

just use ext2explore-2.2.71.zip download from http://sourceforge.net/projects/ext2read/files/Ext2read Version 2.2 (Latest)/
1. Put the system.img in the same folder with ext2explore.exe
2. Run the ext2explore.exe - you'll get a pop-up cannot read disk - click ok
3. Click File - Open Image (or click the first icon)
4. Choose your system.img
5. Right click to save your system.img extracted to your preferred folder (the left pane) - the right pane if you want save one by one.
6. Click OK ... let it finish... you are done
@ckpv5: maybe it is better to make it multilanguage, so that more people can use it...

I'll make one stock odexed 1.18.401.1 with standard language and also I'll give the files to make it multi-language and how to make it multi-language.. it's an easy part anyone could do it.
I'll make this tomorrow as I'm going out shortly.

I tried some Xposed modules for it but doesnt work on this rom (I only can change this icon to another, but disabling doesnt work).

I think is not possible to remove the icon. Only the percentage. I have this ROM.

Do a full backup first.

I need flash all those files from this folder (Translated) or any one specific? May do it from TWRP v 2.5.0.0 ? Those files translate lifev07 to Slovak (Slovencina) language or its have more languages - all that U have on this pictures from link which I post earlier? And I need do any wipes (cache, dalvik-cache,..) before flash ?

1. Flash all the files.
2. Those are all the language that it have.
3. Just flash all the files with TWRP.
4. DO NOT DO ANY WIPE.

Do a full backup from TWRP. I never broke my phone with that. Good luck.

hei dude i made a deodexed version of your east eu rom i was thinking maybe we could put it in android development... what do you think.. personally this is running really sweeter and now is allowing me to get rid of somethings i couldnt get rid of before

there's no need I'll just use some free servers then post it later today...
Can you upload STOCK east-EU flashable.zip to a different host? Download speed from the current one is really slow.
Do I need to have the bootloader locked to flash this rom? Also if I flash stock east eu will get me rid of root?
