Talk free, Skype-to-Skype
It's free to call each other if you all have Skype – wherever you are in the world.
Call and text phones
It's great value to call phones and sendtexts to people who aren't on Skype yet.
Send text messages at great Skype rates
Whether your friends are down the street, in the next town or overseas, send text messages to their mobiles.
Skype is a very useful program to preserve us to communicate, in voice and video, with our contacts in the world, using our internet connection. In addition to this, you can also make calls and video group. However it has some limitations, unlockable by purchasing Skype credit.
This version is for mobile devices with OS Windows Mobile. This version is quite old, but it's the latest on the web, given that Skype has decided to withdraw all copies from the web and to abandon the project, at least for Windows Mobile.
CAUTION:
Use wireless connections or connections that are not on consumption of MB. (The program, download and send large quantities of MB)

Version info
Hello, could you please provide more information of this version and where it came from since development and versions have stopped by the producer of this software?
Thank you very much in advance.
Has someone tried this software?
@staurakis
Hello, the version is visible in the program settings (do not remember exactly, because now I have my HTC on hand)
The only thing I know is that programmers have stopped working on the version of Windows Mobile for unknown reasons and that this is the latest version. (but is not available from the original website ... you can only find if you look good in the internet)
@ggoogle
I personally use on my HTC Touch HD (Blackstone) and also my other friends have it installed, and no problems!

Hello
I have been looking for Software for Pocket PC XDA which can be use as Answering Machine" and will serve as personal secretary. It will answer my calls, play prerecoded message of my choice and record a message for me. It has all the features of a conventional answering machine and maybe more.
like for example :-
Answering incoming calls after the predefined time
You can choose pick up time from 0 seconds up to 20 seconds
Playing one of the prerecorded responses to the phone line
You can record your own responses, download one from the internet or just send to your mobile phone via IR, bluetooth or MMS.
Recording a voice message
After "Answering Machine" will pick up the phone and play the response of your choice to the phone line it will start recording the message. You can set maximum incoming message length to be from 5 seconds up to 2 munites.
Pick up and Hang up are possible at any time while AM is answering the call
Even after "Answering Machine" started answering your call you can easily take control - just like with traditional machines
All voice messages are stored locally and are available at any time
That's the best part! You don't have to pay for your voice mailbox to you operator!
A special view allows you to manage recorded voice messages
You can browse, rename and delete your voice messages.
Caller phone number along with the date and time of the call are stored
With a single button (green key) you can call to a person who left a message.
Global indicator of the new messages
Even if "Answering Machine" is running in the background you can easily see whether you have new messages.
i know it does exist for other platform but unfortunately not for Pocket PC Windows Mobile

If you're looking for a good alternative to Splashtop or any other remote PC app, then you might want to check out the new app Polkast.
The service acts almost identical to MotoCast in that it takes minutes to setup on each of your computers and is then instantly accessible on your phone or tablet over WiFi or data. It defaults to pulling in your music, pictures, videos and documents folders from your computer, but adding in additional locations is super easy. It also has this “recent” section that recognizes a handful of your most recently added computer files, just in case you need to access one immediately.
No more pre-planning what files to sync to the cloud. No storage limits. With Polkast, all of your files are available to you whenever you need them, no matter where you are – across the room or across the world.
Because we let your devices communicate directly and securely over local networks, you get almost instantaneous downloads. Fetch a 1GB video in minutes not hours.
Features
• Search through thousands of computer files instantaneously while on the go.
• Transfer files, photos, and videos directly between devices over the air.
• Send files from your computer using your mobile phone or tablet as a remote control. Great for large home video files!
• Post photos to Facebook, even if you don’t have them on your mobile.
• View your docs and photos, play video from any of your devices, anywhere.
• Save files back to your computer when you modify them on the mobile.
• Secure your files through a protected password and SSL encryption–the same methods used by banks and the military. None of your files are kept in some online Internet storage site.

For Skype fans, and more specifically those who lean towards the Windows Phone side of the mobile world, it seems as if the official Skype app has been hanging over our heads for quite some time now. Skype for Windows Phone was first released as a public beta at the end of February this year.
Fast forward almost eight weeks, and Microsoft have finally deemed Skype for Windows Phone a functional and complete app worthy of a 1.0 version and ready for public consumption. The final 1.0 version of the Skype application has come just in time for all those enthusiastic consumers who are raiding local stores to snap up the Nokia Lumia 900, the latest must have smartphone.

The Skype app is now live in the Windows Phone Marketplace and brings with it all of the features you would expect from a mobile version of the popular software that was originally created by Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis but subsequently purchased by Microsoft in 2011. After downloading, users will be able to place voice and video calls to any of their contacts as well as make use of the built-in instant messaging type features to send text based messages.
Calls to other Skype users are obviously free of charge with the app not being platform limited, meaning that Windows Phone Skype users can place voice and video calls to any worldwide Skype user, regardless of the platform they are using Skype on. The ability to search through and add new contacts is a welcome feature, with the final release also benefitting from some user interface improvements over the beta version.
The lack of backgrounding abilities may prove to be a bit of a deal breaker for a lot of users, meaning that the Skype app actually has to be running for incoming calls to be received. With that in mind, Skype for Windows Phone does seem to perform very well over 3G and LTE data connections, as well as being extremely functional on Wi-Fi as you would expect.
The small inadequacies of the software shouldn’t detract from what is otherwise a very polished and attractive looking Skype implementation and is sure to be a welcome addition to the Windows Phone Marketplace for regular users of the established VoIP service.

Ever wondered how to make Video Calls or Apps that provide Video Calling Support to our Ace!
Note: If you're already aware of it, then just help others here to know more about it rather saying it a dumb thread etc etc
Time to get on board
I came across two Apps providing Video Calling Support to our Ace using our Primary(Back) Camera.
01) Tango App https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sgiggle.production
02) Vtok App https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skymobius.vtok
The part i love is that these Apps helps us not to go for another Phone or PC to do Video Calling.
As there is a saying, nothing comes up without compromise We have to compromise on one thing though that's either we can only see the other party or show ourselves to other part(these are not done as in other Phones like seeing and viewing simultaneously) as these Apps uses our Primary(Back) Camera.
Don't lose your heart though, remember atleast this is possible. Something is better than nothing
Lets learn something about these Apps Now
Starting with
Tango which has Chatting and Calling Facility uses your Mobile Number to chat and make Video Calls. Tango requires your Mobile Number for signup. Tango requires both Calling & Receiving party to use Tango which is not required in Vtok. UI in Tango is something i really love in it. Use it and feel it

Going forward to
Vtok which is completely based on your Google Account helps you to make Video Calls. Its not necessary for both the parties to use Vtok. As you're using your Google Account for signup, Vtok allows you to chat with your Gmail friends having Google Account. They can chat with you using their PC
Let me know your experience after using it and if you have any other App which helps us then feel free to share it with us here
video chat
download yahoo messenger from market. and the messenger video plugin it will give you video calling but u need a mirror .

Dude, we need mirror when using the above mentioned apps too. Skype does not support Video Calling on Ace. Tango & Vtok supports Video Calling on Ace. Have not tested Yahoo so far.
I hope someone here has seen this issue so they can give me some advice as viber support has been very slow and next to useless.
Basically I have a just came from a Xperia Z1 (Viber working) to a Nexus 5 and put on my defacto apps of which Viber is one of them and straight away after entering the phone number it said waiting for sms activation and a couple of seconds after it pops up with 'error' on the screen and that is all it says.
Prior to this I have had many android phones and never had an issue with activating viber.
Troubleshooting wise I have tried all of the below and nothing so far works.
1. Tried activating on wifi and 3g
2. Tried my wife's number on my nexus 5 which gets past the initial country code and phone number screen and tries to send an sms
3. Tried my number on my wife's phone and get the same lovely 'Error' popup
4. Placed my wife's sim card into my phone and activation works so proving this issue is number specific not phone specific.
The screenshot of the 'Error' is below.

Viber support seem to of gone very quiet and it looks like a Viber rep does lurk around here so bumping the thread to see if they can help me out.
Word of warning guys if any of you like myself installed the Android SDK and emulator to try and teach yourself programming then make sure Viber does not get installed if you login with your google account.
Basically this triggers their 'system' into thinking you are a spammer and they then block your number so you are unable to use Viber ever again on any device you own.
Viber support are next to useless and it looks like I will never be able to use Viber again despite doing absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever.
Viber support is blocked your GSM number
Viber support is blocked your GSM number, because of Viber spam politics, or something like this. I have the same problem with one of my GSM numbers. From Viber support answered me that they will never UNBLOCK this number (Viber politics and rules) , I already change my blocked GSM number...
