I keep hearing others talk about the MIUI camera, and I'm very familiar with it because I ran MIUI on my Incredible. I can't get it to run on the X2.
I downloaded the latest MIUI ROM for the X, extracted the MIUI-camera.apk and gallery.apk, pushed them to system/app using root explorer, reset permissions, rebooted. Camera just FC when I try to open. Any suggestions? Does this have something to do with the qHD display?
It is installed on my v0.6 build of Eclipse which will be out today for sure.

.6 has some blur in it hes also doing an straight asop rom
The minuit camera we are using successfully is "Camera 17" from MIUI. As far as I know, it's not just any random MIUI camera but a specific one that has been tested to work. I use it and have even used it in the Atrix ROM successfully.

By the way, the camera apk is found in Nitro's blurless ROM which is on rootzwiki. You can just pull the apk from the zip.

1) I'm running eugene's macnut R12 right now. fantastic rom, but unfortunately the droid multitouch keyboard wasn't included in R12 (as opposed to a few previous versions)
I'm in love with that keyboard. I'm so much faster using that then swype, believe it or not. I've seem other threads on the keyboard but nothing I've seen seems to work with my phone?
Anyone have an APK or anything to help me out with getting multitouch on my phone?
2) Not much of a question, but why is Steel internet browser so underated? I've been using it for months. Since my mytouch 3g, it's been such a solid browser.
I pulled a MT KB .apk from a Rom. It works on R12, but the fonts on the keys is hella small. Try pulling it from a previous Rom or I could send you one.

Pardon my ignorance, but who's gothroid?
Bumping this.
Went through the .zips from the Droid multitouch threads I found on this site, no luck with them ;(
The last thing from making me love Macnut R12 is not having the keyboard with it, halpp!
tried pulling the droid multitouch apk from Macnut R10 and installing it on my phone.
it attempts to install it but after a few seconds it says its unsucessful ;(
Steel is my go to browser. Most comfortable and lite for me. But I haven't seen an update in ages. I think it's a little orphan appy.
Don't blame me, blame my keyboard's autocorrection algorithm.

Did you try installing it like a system app (through root explorer) or a normal 3rd party apk?
The Droid X MT keyboard that works for the vibrant, both 2.1 and 2.2 has been posted here. The 2.2 is skinned to look like the samsung keyboard only, but 2.1 has both the original and samsung look.

Hi,
I'm not sure why you lost apps, but I can guarantee its not my zip. Here's exactly what my zip file does:
Code:
delete SYSTEM:app/LatinIME.apk
copy_dir PACKAGE:app SYSTEM:app
copy_dir PACKAGE:lib SYSTEM:lib
and if you look inside those folders, /system/app only has dxkeyboard.apk and /system/lib only has libjni_latinime.so
If you run any of the new 2.2 kernels from eugene or team whiskey that have been built from hacked i9000 source, that might be causing your problems. I've had /data wiped just by rebooting into recovery using various 2.2 kernels.
Good luck, cheers, =)
^^ im not upset at all bro, you dont know how happy i am to have multitouch on this rom.
i undrstand having a custom rom some random/weird stuff happens, i just need to run titanium backup more often thanks!

Hello,
My eris is running on gsb 3.7 deoxdexed version, Everything works like charm.
But camera utility, 3d gallery, phone dialer, contacts are really not as good as stock.
Is it possible anyhow we can add these apk in 3.7 gsb rom?
I tried myself through root explorer, copied camera apk changed the owner and restarted, it is giving me fc whenever i run the camera.
This will make our droid smart.

This will not work. Those require the htc_resources in framework as well. There are apps availible in the market that are similar though. Dialer One is similar to the sense dialer for example. I haven't used many of the third party apps myself but I'm sure someone here can make some good suggestions for other apps as well.

thanks, for the reply, I tried dialer one its cool, will also try some other dialers too.
My main concern is camera, I really found that quality of images which i have taken from stock camera is good but gsb or offcourse your lovely rom, its slighty varies. though it may not be bother by many.
LOL I need to take snap of tiny particles.
Even in sense tazz rom there are much noticable difference.

Ill give it a shot (pun intended) when i get home from work later. Im also gonna take a shot at the launcher for u as well. I work for an iphone developer in the process of making the switch to include droid so im learning as much as i can. Any info about phone or tablet it came from or anything u think will help feel free to pm me. Been ripping apart the droid sdks from cupcake to gingerbread for the past 2 weeks at work already and on multiple forums soaking up as much info as i can in my off time. Am already considering posting a rom of my own based off the liberty test build. If i can get the ics launcher workin within a few days ill include it as the stock launcher lol

What are the differences between the two? I have both downloaded and i'm using ANDMERS right now but I liked some of the tweaks ENYO had added but ENYO's had a few issues with MMS and WIFI.
Both are awesome devs who have given me the joy of MIUI on the fascinate I'd just like to know the difference before i flash and find out something doesn't work when i need it and don't have time to flash it back (or miss out on picture messages)
what i have so far (keep in mind i haven't done multiple flashes to figure each out)
enyo
mms not working
gps slow to lock
wifi works perfect
andmer
wifi works occasionally after reboots
mms works fine
gps locks 10-20 seconds

This is because both of Enyo's V1.10.14 & V1.10.21 have very few files from those actual ports, and are both using older framework and apps.
Andmer's is an actual full port of the newest framework, apps, etc.
The only issues in Andmer's version are wifi inop and reboot to recovery only works from rom manager.

I have looked through the forums here and didn't quite find what I was looking for. I recently started using liberty x2 and love it. However, I am a fan of the AOSP camera that nitro had in many of his Eclipse ROMs. I would like to push that camera into liberty. Is this possible? Do I have to change permissions? Does the gallery still work from within the camera app?
I have never tried this before and wasn't sure where to even begin. I'm sorry if this question has been answered. I know it is noobish but I just am not sure what I am doing. Thanks for the help in advance.

Pull the camera apk from an Eclipse build (/system/app) and push it to liberty (same location that you pulled it). Set permissions to:
xx-
x--
x--
x=a check mark
Remove the blur camera apk and reboot.
Liberty has aosp gallery so it will work from w/in the aosp cam. Eclipse RC 3 has the aosp cam. MIUI was used a lot in Eclipse builds...He recently went back to aosp installed, i believe.
Any questions just PM me.
Edit: i use Root Explorer to push apps.
