Speed up dialer/phone? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Why is the dialer so slow on this phone? Is there a way to speed it up? It takes a couple of seconds to initialize when you hit phone and when I hit end call it takes a few more seconds. Half the time I ending up calling somebody back because I hit end call twice. It seems like the call isn't ending so you hit it again and then it finally ends you hit CALL where END CALL was so it starts to dial again.

I'm right with ya. If you want a different dialer (phone/contacts), you could probably follow the instructions here, if you're rooted.

[Q] Program to shut down calls before entering voicemail?

Hi!
Long intro to give you a picture of what I mean (scroll down to red text for question):
I've been noticing how many minutes I was calling lately with my vodafone plan, so I decided to take a closer look at my use. Turns out most of my minutes/units are 00:01 minute "calls". The thing is that I'm getting charged for a full minute (it's rounded up to the nearest minute, so 00:01 minute = 01:00 minute) when I call.
The same thing goes for voicemail. If I want to call someone and they don't answer their phone, I get their voicemail. As soon as I hear the first words of the voicemail I hang up...unfortunately this already costs me 1 minute.
Now for my question:
Is there a way/app to make MY phone hang up before I get THEIR voicemail?
Thanks!
Why not just count the number of rings before their voice mail picks up and hang up before you reach that number. If they're on a cell phone, they'll see it as a missed call and call you back.
Because every provider (or maybe even every phone) has a different number of beeps:S

Phone numbers that won't hang up on you?

Hey does anyone know a phone number that won't hang up if I call it? I'm trying to test dropped call rate on my 3-VO and the best I found so far is a number that tells you the time--but it hangs up automatically after 2.5 minutes.
Thanks in advance!
Try calling your voicemail, perhaps.
How about just calling your home phone number or a family member's home phone, tell them to just let the phone sit.
Google Voice seeing how many roaming minutes i can rack up at the moment!!

Can't end calls in MIUI

Been running MIUI for a while now but not made any calls. I phoned my girlfriend but found that when I pressed end call, it would go grey and say ending call as normal. But it wouldnt. It just sits there, if I press home it tells me the call is going. To the person on the other end the call would still be going on.
To be fair if they hang up, it ends but sometimes it causes problems as it did when I rang my local takeaway, couldn't disconnect and was stuck. Had to reboot phone.
It does it every single time without fail. But apart from that, the rom is perfect. Using the latest rom.

[Q] Galaxy S3 call waiting dialog box problem ~ any workaround?

I've got gs3 and i love it to every bit. although, there is just one problem that i'm not able to solve.
Call waiting is activate don my phone and i receive all my calls while I'm on another active call. But when i get a new call, I swipe the green button and I get a new dialog box named "accept call after" which shows the option to 'end' the previous call or to to keep it on 'hold'. Now, at times I forget about it and it takes time that every now and then I miss that call.
I have tried numerous third-party dialer but they do not override the default dialer screen, so i was wondering if there is a trick/workaround so that I would be able to simply take the new call and my previous call goes to 'hold' by default?
i have had this feature on almost every phone that I have owned till now. using an aosp/aokp rom seems to be another solution, but it would be the last thing i would want to do..
thanks
