He did get a Bionic but from what I gather, he just went the way of BAMF and decided to host on his own site and not use XDA.

It seems DroidTh3ory got his new supercharged Bonic and Look like he is giving up his TBolt.

False. The Th3ory team is working on the Tbolt still.

He's not going to stop dev for tbolt, hes just playing with a bionic now also.
Both sense and AOSP roms will be updated.

as to quote an old Beastie Boys track.....
"sh**!... if this gonna be that kinda party i'ma stick my di** in the mashed potatoes!"

th3ory did get the bionic and is developing for it as well as the thunderbolt but there are also more developers in his team, dhacker, xpack, and myself th3ory had been posting allot of roms and was getting crap for some mods as well as some very ungratfull members as fell as the fact we can post anything we want on th3oryrom.com with no limits

That's good, I tried play with Bonic yesterday and it really nice device. I probably wait for Nexus Prime or Vigor. I am sure th3ory will provide excellent benefit for the Bonic. Keep it up!

I'm pretty sure he's in themikmik.com. I swear I just saw him with a couple threads there a couple days ago.

[Request] Screen rotation animation?

Is there any way someone can make a mod for screen rotation? Or at least point me in the right direction? Something that's smoother and has more of an animation, more like the Omnia or iPhone? I know you devs are working hard on a LOT of roms right now for the thunderbolt. Thanks, again.

I would like to see this too. I've been jealous of my wife's Droid X animation.

I second this, I thought it was just a stock Gingerbread thing but I guess not? Which is funny because the CRT animation is stock on the Nexus phones, but didn't come with Droid X 2.3 lol so its like each side is missing something.
If someone could put this in though I would be infinitely happier. Quite frankly I am shocked that Cyanogenmod doesn't have it already.

Somewhere around the 4:00 mark or so you can see it. All Motorola Gingerbread builds have it, and it must be in there somewhere to port over.

Why so few roms?

I recently got the photon 4g coming from the evo and sadly I only see like 3 roms. I thought this phone would be more popular and get more attention. Hope I didnt make the wrong phone choice.
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk
i'm guessing because the unlocked bootloader is killing 4g - and people are waiting until there's a fix for that to start pumping out the roms...
Would you rather have fifteen mediocre ROM choices or a couple good ones? I guess what I'm getting at is what do you want in your ROM? We've got some very talented developers here and have a couple solid, daily ROM's plus kernals. I'm just waiting fora good ICS build to come out.
BTW I don't think you'll regret your decision.

First I think that we need to start with the fact that this is a drawn out question that has been brought up a dozen times (try looking). This is a question that will easily piss off several people in the XDA world, especially the seasoned posters. How many ROM's do you need? I also had a EVO and yes there were SEVERAL ROM's however most of the them were slight variations of the same ROM, just with a personal developers twist on it. (by the way - all hail the Developers). In regards to the MoPho, the unlocked bootloader is a issue, however, the MoPho ran better than the EVO fresh out the box. I personally am running CM7 and I can not believe a phone can be this damn responsive, this fast, and this damn awesome. So when you ask the question, Why so few ROMS - try clicking on one of the several links that the website refers you to that shows other people asking the same question. Remeber the golden rule to XDA - search for the answer first!

first of all, welcome to the photon community. hope you stay a while.
second, you will find that development has only just picked up heavy in the last month. the same went for the EVO, it takes time to develop.
third, please check out the roms we do have, they are wonderful and if you like CM7, we have that!
Id rather have a great build like CM7 then a million roms that are just a snowflake from being the same thing. few is better to me when it comes to rom builds.

Just go with Cybik's CM7 port. It is being submitted to Cyanogen for approval, so will be hopefully soon, a fully supported and "blessed" ROM. The lack of 4G is a non-issue for me, no 4G in my area, but would be nice to eventually get it for when I travel.

if your phone choice was based on the 'thought' or 'hope' of a certain number of ROM's or a certain quantity of development then you might want to re-consider the basis by which you make electronics purchases.
And for the love of all that is holy, please research/search before posting and stop insulting the development that we DO have. Obviously you haven't spent any time reading in the fora to make a fair assessment of the status of development for this device yet you are very quick to hop in the general forum and make (what seems to be) a complaint thread.
just sayin'
/soapbox
ALL ROMs on ALL phones are based on rooted deodex stock, AOSP or porting. 99% of those ROMs are nothing more than minor changes to either stock or AOSP. Almost everything can be done with flashable theme packs.
The remaining 1% are serious rewrites, optimizations or ports. For example, ROMs like CM7, Vaelpak and Synergy are serious coding. Changing the font or color scheme is theming and not a ROM.

I have aokp on my buddies incredible
it is seriously sweet
only thing lacking is HWA
the cm9 port and other ics Ports for the incredible that have HWA working perform much smoother
regardless, that's just my opinion for it on the incredible only, once it has HWA it will be compete perfection
aokp is one seriously sexy ROM, hopefully we will see it one day on the x2, it would make it enter pure beast mode with a double shot of adrenaline mixed with liquid cocaine lmao
time to have a drink in honor of dreams, don't let them die!
I'm running aokp on my transformer prime. I actually like it more than I liked cm9. They are both fantastic though. Aokp just has better options in my opinion. Team kang has really outdone themselves.

Jelly Bean??!

This is not a rant or a complaint thread by any means, just curious. What's the deal with Jelly Bean? Months ago it was stated that JB would be an easy jump from ICS once we got kernel source. Is this not the case? Is nobody working on it? Any insight would be appreciated.
Once again, not a rant thread just trying to sift for information.

Ditto. Take a look at https://github.com/intervigilium for the pieces of Intervigilium's Sensation port and do git diff on files between branches to see what he changed. The only thing you'll need to do extra is to update the RIL for the new android_frameworks_base.
I'm almost inclined to do the Jellybean conversion myself, but at the moment I'm just too lazy.

Are you sitting on a bunch of build fixes?
Because after messing with it, it looks to me that we need the updated msm framebuffer headers to get the latest libhwcomposer and friends to compile. The modified ABI means the kernel needs the updated driver to actually work, and that entails a lot of other intra-kernel dependencies, too.
