Ok not sure if this is the right place to post this. My wife finally figured how to back up her phone but she needs to back up her google calendar. Any idea or point me in the right direction? Also this is her second phone. It reboots by itself now and before the update. Plug it in to charge overnight and it shuts off. Its never been rooted because she needs it for work.

I would say take it back to Verizon. If her phone is constantly rebooting and reboots in the wall charger, seems like something is wrong there. As far as backing up the Google calendar...doesnt that back up to google automatically?
Yeah we are getting another phone but cant back up caledar like contacts. Also everything on the computer wasnt being sent to her phone.

Yes u can sync calendar to google. I believe it is under privacy in settings menu. Something about backup to google needs to be checked. I don't use calendar much. Have it frozen now but did u try pressing menu button while calendar is open to see what options u have?

I have a rooted Evo LTE on the factory ROM and everything has been fine... until just now. I decided I wanted to recover my call log from my Evo 4G backup via Titanium Backup. Now, after a reboot, I get a popup that says:
"android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Would you like to send an error report to HTC? This will help us improve our products."
The problem is that when I click 'Don't Send' it goes away but then pops up again less than a second later. It literally will continue over and over again w/o any end in sight. My phone is bork and I don't know how to un-bork it at this point. Sometimes I wish life had an 'undo' option as I don't even really care that much about my call log. I was just trying to get fancy I guess.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as my phone is pretty much useless at the moment.
I was able to navigate back to 'contacts/calls' within Titanium Backup between popups and click freeze. It froze and I no longer get those popups but I now get"
'Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped'
In addition to this I assume that my phone, contacts or something also doesn't work now that I've frozen 'Call/Contacts' but now maybe at least I can delete and restore this file with a proper working one?? Anyone??
Did you accidentally restore the Contacts/Calls application instead of the list?
You could have just synced the contacts to your gmail account on the OG EVO and they would have synced automatically on the LTE.

Yes, this is what I did. It was even in GREEN text which Titanium Backup says is safe to restore and to avoid RED. How can I fix this?

It wasn't the contacts I was after. All of my contacts are sync'd to Google so with the new phone I had all my contacts after logging into Google. I was just trying to restore my call log from my previous phone when all this began.
That Titanium Backup item is data only. Go back to Titanium to that line item, unfreeze, then wipe data. You should be good to go. Then maybe reboot to make sure there are no more force closes.
Edit: Actually, I may be wrong. There could be an apk with that as well. What I said above is still worth a shot, though. If it doesn't work you will have to find a way to restore that apk. Are you running a custom ROM?

That's the weird part was I thought that I did just restore the data. I'm about 97% sure that's what I selected in fact. I figured it would leave the app as is and then restore the data and bam! I'd have my call log. That's not the case. Clearing data from Titanium Backup was going to be my next step but didn't want to bork things any further. If you're saying it's safe to do I will attempt that.

No, like I said in the OP I've rooted a stock Evo LTE and that's all. Nothing else has been done.
Reboot into recovery (vol up + vol down + power and as soon as the phone powers off, let go of vol up) and fix permissions.

Unfroze and immediately got popups again. Between them I was able to clear the data for it and they quit. No rebooting to see if everything is good to go once again.

Good news. My advice would be to flash TWRP now though. Being rooted without having a custom recovery is mighty dangerous.

I agree and I need to. I need to unlock my bootloader first and I started the process but didn't have the files I needed at like step 8 or whatever it was. I guess I'll try harder to find what I need when I get some more time.
In case anyone is curious, the problem exists because you have a Facebook friend that has a birthday on February 29th. Either remove the Facebook friend or don't sync calendar data from Facebook. You will need to clear the data first and then re-sync contacts and live feed for it to work. Hope this helps. This is a bug that HTC needs to fix.

Holy blast from the past. The issue has long since been corrected.
Hi all, I have searched about this issue and it seems like there isn't a workaround for it. I recently acquired SGS3, and found this Email issue very annoying (specifically Hotmail). I tried K9 and MailDroid, and found that they didn't have as good as a Push feature as the stock SGS3 email app. (I was an avid Blackberry user)
Anyway, I just want to bring this to the attention of other more knowledgeable users on xda. Are there any methods to make Hotmail Email sent from SGS3 (using stock email app) show the Full sender name instead of the Hotmail login name?
Others with the same issues:
fingery said:
Is it possible to set the from name when sending an email using the default email app?
I'm sending via hotmail configured as exchange in the app but the from name always shows as the full name associated with my live login. On all my other ICS devices, in the standard email app its possible to configure what you want to show as your name in the from field.
Is this no longer possible as it looks like they've removed the option from the configuration screen. Any hack to do it?

know how to correct it?

Has anyone found an answer to this?
It was an issue with SGS2 and SGS1 before it. It's a Samsung stock email issue. Surely there are loads of people out there with Samsung phones and Hotmail accounts?

ok i finally managed to fix it in a very primative way, when you are going to your account settings you can see the "your name" option n it disappears right away, what you need to do is to change any option in the menu n exit, then get in the settings again n this time the "your name" option will last a second or two, enough time to hit it to be able to change it

This worked perfectly. I've had my Galaxy Note for just under a year and have had to resort to the official Hotmail app on the market which is very buggy. I was seriously annoyed when my name wouldn't appear from the stock email app, it otherwise worked very well.
As you said, when you enter the settings menu the Your name option appears for a second before disappearing. The only way to get it to return is to change any menu option, close the menu and then return to the menu. You have to be quick but you can select the option before it disappears and edit your name in the dialogue box that appears.
Good find!
It took a few attempts but here's a screenshot taken during that tiny one second window.
Isn't there another way to get the Your Name option updated? Unfortunately I must be really to slow as I'm never able catch that option for the fraction of second I see it...

Is there any other way of getting to this setting?

Rather just be done with it.
Ok, time to flash a modded rom. Its a lot easier than all that you already went through.
First you read the first post of all the different roms. The developers discuss the features of their roms.
Decide on one and download it to your sd card and remember the location. Every rom comes with instructions but basically:
Back up anything you care about (call logs, sms).
Turn off your phone then turn it on and go to recovery.
Do a factory reset to completely wipe the phone.
Choose to flash the zip file you downloaded. Let it work, then reboot and wait about ten minutes for the rom to settle in.
Sign in and set up your phone.

I find that "feature" annoying as well.
This are the steps I follow to get rid of that "feature":
Open contacts and click cancel when the address book try to get the AT&T contacts.
Then I go to att.com and log into my account. Once there I select my phone from the "Group Share Usage" dashboard.
Then select "Voice Usage Details". Once there look for the Phone Book option and click Off.
After that, go back to your phone and open contacts. This time it will ask you if you want to enable the Phone Book. Select No. That should take care of the problem, until you flash a new ROM.

It happens to me every time I flash a new rom.Just click on contacts and let it go through its thing(it will basically just search to see if you have ATT address book setup, which you don't) When it is done, close it.Do it 3x total I believe and you won't see it again till you flash a different rom.

Like ranger said too, some custom roms probably don't have the att contacts app so you could bypass it all together that way.
Since my exchange question never got answered ill ask a more broad one.
Im using Jelly Bean. I have a ton of "trusted credentials" which i dont know where they came from. (a few are in another language, which makes me concerned). I would like to clear them all out, but doing them one by one would be extremly tedious and time consuming. I see their is an option to remove all certificates, however it is disabled/grayed out.
Why and how can i clear them out all at once?
Thanks

Ok. Appearrntly, it will only let you so a full clear of credentials if you have your phone encrypted. However, even that wont clear whats in the "trusted credentials" area. Looks like ill have to just disable them one at a time.. What a pain in the ass.

I'm having the same problem with a Galaxy S5 on version 6.0.1. Has anyone figured this out? Not sure where all these certificates came from either but I want them off my phone and one by one will take forever. Plus, doing them one by one only turns them off. It doesn't remove them.

Hello guys
Is there any way to make multiple sync profiles for google services?
I noticed that my sync takes quite a bit of my battery and Data, so whenever I live my home or office and off the Wifi,
I will turn the sync off. I would however, like to have at least gmail sync up and running, as I have to attend to my work stuff.
Right now, I do it manually and it's getting really boring when I do it few times a day. Settings, google, uncheck and check the
sync apps one by one.
Would be great if there was easier way to do it. Automate it someone how, so as soon as the wifi is off, the sync adjust itself.
Any ideas if there is something I can do ?
Thanks for taking the time to read,
