Sometime backup can take a bit depending on amount of apps, etc. I would give it some more time. And yes, you will lose OTA upon restore unless you back up after doing the update.
I'm unlocked which is why I backed up. ha. Crap. Oh well. I guess I'll just reunlock or something. I don't know. I'll figure it out. I'm not sure what I wanna do yet.

I have a HTC Rezound unlocked, S-On. I tried flashing over RevRom 2.5 earlier and continuely got stuck in a bootloop over and over. I am at the point now that i can't get back even to my backup. Says that there isn't a nandroid back up on my device. I have full access to Fastboot and Recovery. I am currently using RA-Vigor-V3.15. I have tried flashing older versions but phone will reboot. Any ideas? Thanks
Did you try flashing another Rom ..try that

I use the 10 x wipe then install rom
---------- Post added at 09:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:53 PM ----------
Did you flash the kernel installer
I have tried a couple times. When i try to wipe Data, it gives me a warning saying "Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p35 (File Exists) and then says error mounting /data/.
When i try to flash another rom, it seems like Recovery reboots itself really fast and returns to main menu inside Recovery
i even have my nandroid saying "Restore Complete" but once it goes to reboot, all i have is a black screen.
Yes i did use the RevRom Kernall installer and thats when it first started getting stuck in bootloop. I gave the boot loop 15 minutes before doing anything because i heard the first time with RevRom took around 10 minutes to fully load
Did u flash the proper ph image for the Rom

Thank you so much for your help. I have been reading different forums and etc for 6 hours now. I appreciate your help more than you know.
Songs like you're on old gb firmware too? If you are you'll have to flash the old firmware patch too

Hi,
I made a fudge... I had a couple of the bootloader flash files in the same download folder - long story short, I thought I was updating radios/firmware and it turns out I downgraded. Everything said "Ok" during the process, but after the reboot, I'm bricked. No lights, no response, Windows shows it as the Qsomething-or-another mode.
Is there any way to fix this - or do I have to take it into the store? I have TEP, but I'm afraid of what to say when they ask me what happened, since I have already customized my bootloader, unlocked via HTC Dev Unlock, etc.
Any pointers?

I tried this, and Terminal tells me that the phone is not found... and I confirmed through their IRC support chat page that this tool only works for bricks caused by their tool. Mine was caused by a firmware flash.
I was not sure thats why I said I would wait till someone would confirm. would you do stuff makes sure your usb plug in is plugged into the read of the computer where the usb plug is plugged into the motherboard not by a extension that goes to the front of the computer makes a bif difference in stuff like this.
---------- Post added at 11:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:55 PM ----------
You could look into this thread a little just some again this is something different but I not sure what the unbricker really does its a file ported over from the htc one x phone that worked on the htc evo lte since it iis very simular phone
I think I've made the worse mistake anyways could make.
I deleted my whole OS off my phone so all it does is boot the the HTC logo and stays there. I still have TWRP. I have a backup saved on my computer but since I have no OS my computer doesn't show up a folder so I could put the backup back on the phone.
Am I screwed?
do you have adb setup on your computer?

No Problem:good:
Hello, I am new as a poster on these forums, but not new as a visitor, but I thought I would have the best luck asking around here. So basically I was being stupid and on my HTC One M8, which has been rooted for some time, I wanted to put the 5.0.1 GPE Skydragon on. I had been trying to get S-off in the past, but it had failed. Today I tried again, but still wouldn't get past first bottle. Either way I was impatient and misinterpreted a tutorial someone had created, implying you already had S-Off. I though that would be a later step and this was a different method, so I tried to flash the ROM with S-On, and things went downhill from there. I could make my phone vibrate by using the volume buttons, but a dark screen that displayed nothing. I was able to access my boot loader and TWRP, so I know the screen isn't kill. When inside of TWRP, I clicked on system cache along with Davlik and other ones, so it screwed my system no also. Also, if I plug it into my computer the internal sd and external sd do appear, so that's good. But in recap I am stuck where I can only access TWRP and boot menu, and because my S is on, I cant seem to flash anything nor get past it. Please help, my phone is vital especially in Finals Week.
The best way to recover is to flash a RUU...I do not have links for you, but I have been here for a few months. I've heard when problems exist, the best thing to do is flash a RUU...I might be completely wrong, but give wonder_never_cease a pm. He's a very knowledgeable person.

Well, I have looked around, nothing in the same predicament that I am in currently... So I will send him a message anyway, maybe I'll get lucky.
Update: I messaged him and no reply yet, this is urgent, so if anyone can directly help me I would appreciate it greatly.
As instructed above if unable to boot into bootloader to flash a custom recovery and pushing a custom rom to phone, flash the ruu thats for your software build you had prior to this fiasco, patience is a virtue eh...lol...

This same situation gets asked several times a day.
Just restore the nandroid you made. If you didn't make one, than that is a mistake I suggest you never repeat ever again.
If no nandroid, you just need to flash a ROM (either by adb sideloader, adb push, mount memory in recovery, or put on removable SD). A ROM that matches you current firmware will avoid the long boot times and broken WiFi that are symptomatic of a firmware mismatch. You haven't posted enough info for us to know what firmware you are on (hboot and radio number).

BTW, what is with all the bad thread titles today? At least 4 threads in this forum titled "HELP", "[Q]" or something similar. This this is a Q&A and help forum, so of course you are asking for help and have a question. But please try to give your thread a specific title describing your issue, to help keep the forum organized.

The issue has been resolved after a stressful weekend, there was a droid news article that worked for me, so the RUU method worked in the end. Thanks anyway!
Hi,
im new to xda, please be nice to me if I made a mistake..
I have (had) a rooted HDX 7" and I installed the Nexus Rom, but the Play Store wouldnt work - therefore I went to RecoveryMode and wiped: Delvic Cache, Cache and -> System <- (I believe thats the problem) and restarted.
Now I*'m stuck in bootloop - like not even the bootanimation shows up - only the "KINDLE" logo in the beginning shows up.
I can go to the Kindle Fire System Recovery to Factory Reset it but that seems to not work - it's still the same after the Factory Reset.
I also tried using ADB for it, but my devices isnt found and it is not showing up in "Devices and Printers" on Windows..
Can anyone of you help me ?
Can I send it back to Amazon and get a new one? Its only 1 month ord.
Would appreciate your help!
Yeah, I have the same problem..
Did you have safestrap installed? I DID but after reset, i dont see any safestrap? Not sure what happened there...

I think were in bad shape... Not botting into safestrap. and no devices found in adb.... i think we F*** up

GOOD news... ( i am doing this as i type)
I managed to get my kindle to boot its own system recovery...
Not sure the button combination, power + up until reset or power + down untill reset... i think one of those forced the hdx into recovery... try this.
---------- Post added at 06:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:54 PM ----------
You may be able to get it to work form a factory reset.
How ever, as i am attempting this, it is failing, and reverting back to the gray "kindlefire" logo with no response.... i have tried the factory reset a few times with no love.

If you wiped the /system partition, then logically there's nothing to reset in the first place...
Anyways, without ADB access, I don't think there's anything you can do.

Thanks for the answer! But Factory Reset won't help It's seems to make the problem even worse.. I called Amazon and they sent me a new one..
I don't think that we can get that back to what it was without ADB access!

Yes, indeed, thats true.. But I got a new one from Amazon today - I hope they won't say anything because of the root-access I had.

Yeah, i went the same route. Amazon is pretty great when it comes to customer service.
But i am fairly certain that what we did, WIPED EVERYTHING! lol... EVERYTHING... it was a shell!!! lol... i could be wrong, but i am sending mine back as well!
so, now, i got a fresh device in my hand, and my wife is saying i better not root this one! HAHA.... (as i am searching the best root method for 14.3.2.1)
Sorry for noob question, I'm new for HDX.
There is no way other than ask Amazon for helping ?
I guest because it is bootloader locked, right ?
