Footprints - Motorola Droid X2

I used to have a hd2 and one of the apps on it was a places app or something like that basicly I could use the gps to save the location and add pix and stuff is there a way to get something like that on the dx2? And now that I'm thinkin about it I think it was called footprints or something

I Know Google Maps Offers Places.

There's no motorola equivalent that I know of. I didn't think footprints was useful anyways.

Question about an application.

Has anyone else used the application called system tuner? It's free and allows the option to freeze apps as well as create backups.

None is better than Titanium Backup, IMO. Free and Pro version available.
Haven't heard anything about system tuner but Titanium Backup is awesome!

I was wondering if anyone has used it. I'm thinking about trying it out to freeze some of these useless apps running. I'm on unemployment and raising two kids by myself so I don't think buying an app I can justify lol. Tho the other question would be is freezing the crap apps does that fix the rebooting issue maybe?

I use system tuner all the time it is a good app. I like the widget. Works great to tweak a lot of things with one app. Haven't tried the back up or the freeze. I use T backup for that.

Backed up an app and froze one both work just fine. Just like T backup. Enjoy

Madden NFL 12 Free Oct 1-3

Found this on slickdeals, Madden NFL 12 is free starting tommorow for 3 days only:
http://www.starstarmadden.com/
Some people on the slickdeal thread were mentioning that you had to have vcast installed to get the free game, which some of our roms have removed...
Sweet, could we download the app from the Market? Or off the VZW site?
Do you think it would matter if you had it or not since you have to call them?

lol just tried it and its not compatible with our device

Again, I think it does check if vcast is installed, which Eclipse .7 does not. Droid X2 2.2 is listed at the bottom of the page. I was going to sbf soon anyhow, so I'll try and see if that does the trick.

After I SBF'd back to Froyo it went to the download page rather than the 'not compatible' page.
That's fing stupid. Verizon needs to get its **** together. Every Dx2 should be running 2.3 now. I guess ill sbf back just to download this thing. Man alot of work for a free app ya know.

Can some one put the .apk up on media fire or something? Be easier than sbfing!

I already purchased Madden 12... It runs, but not very well. I've only played it once due to that issue.

Its supported its was suppose to read Droid X2 2.2+ (and up) but they didn't place it in the disclaimer.
Just open the VCast Apps and download it though there.

i wouldn't upload that to xda since this app is a paid app and its only available to vzw people upload the vcast app instead
I'm on Eclipse .7 and when I open the vcast app, I get an error that states: "Unable to complete request."
I had no problem from eclipse 7 but the game sucks and comes with VZW spyware. Had an interesting folder called "red laser" show up with some interesting scripts inside. Didn't look into them at all though.

Any concerns over privacy? I know there are no account numbers but what if..
Looks like this is an online only app. Can I still enter stuff if Im in say Airplane mode or have no signal?
Not yet, Looks to be a what folks that are using the app are wanting the most. I hope the Dev's are considering it.
I use EasyMoney and I think CashOrganizer was ported to Android as well. They are full featured financial programs.

Need Google search apk

Hey guys, I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to pull the stock google search apk from the X2 for me.
(No updates - after SBF, before market updates)
Thanks in advance!
Sent from my SCH-I405 using xda app-developers app
For Gingerbread? I'm on ICS so I dont know if that one would be the same. But can't you take a Gingerbread ROM and extract the files and take the google search apk from that?
Yeah, GB version. I could. Just don't have my X2 anymore so I deleted my files for it. All the ROMs and everything.
I'm at work though and can't use a computer yet
Sent from my SCH-I405 using xda app-developers app
Would the Eclipse one work? I can download it and extract the apk for you.
How about the "quicksearchbox" from CM7?
Here is the one from Liberty. May be more stockish.
Thanks, but those didn't work. I want it because the updated google search app does not change when the ICS go launcher theme is applied. Instead of the clear bar it displays the all white box which totally messes my phones look up. I ran into the same issue on the x2 but fixed it under settings, apps, manage apps, google search, uninstall updates. This phone is newer so its stock app is already updated. I think I need the stock x2 app from a sbf or something.
I emailed the dev about it when I had my x2 but no change yet
Sent from my SCH-I405 using xda app-developers app
Ah. Sorry those didnt work. I understand the whole "gotta have my phone look good" thing. I have OCD when it comes to that. lol
It's all goodie. Bought holo launcher plus. Much better than touchwiz. X 10000

Ideas for a killer android app

Hey I am kinda bored so I want to try app developing, I want to make something useful and gets many downloads such as root explorer or titanium backup. Could you guys toss some ideas this way?
Idiotic games are usually the most popular

You do realize that developing apps isn't just something you can do in a few hours right? And those apps that get hundreds of thousands of downloads have entire companies behind them?

If I had an idea for an app that would get 100,000 downloads, why would I share it?
I know how to make apps, i have made quite a few for personal use. Because maybe they have a brilliant idea and they don't know how/can't code, we can team up.
I've always wanted to make a better First Responder app.
How about an app that steams movies from the pc while on the go..one that a lot cheaper than vlc direct and one that easier to set up
long time lurker... read search try again
Thanks guys I have enough for now

I know you say you have enough, but here is a request I hope would be easy... An app that would allow a long press on the volume buttons to change tracks from the current music app in use. Example, I use power amp, the HTC music app, and doggcatcher for podcasts. But most roms I can only use long press for the HTC music app. If possible, I would be grateful.
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk 2
That isn't possible as an app, and even if it is, it would hog up a lot of battery running in the background, you would need a new rom or tweak to accomplish that
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
I would like for an app to top me off in the morning and make me a cup of coffee.
I would like to see an app like Boot manager, since is no longer supported and I personally have trouble making dual boot on my phone with that app (bot loops). I heard it has something to do with jb.
Model: Evo 3d GSM,
Rom: AOKP JB 4.2.1-- helicopter88,
Kernel: Anryl v57.
Can't really do that because I don't have an 3vo anymore
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
How about an app that removes noobs automatically from xda
Sent from my IdeaTabA2109A using Tapatalk HD
A PRL Manager for HTC evo 3d
Features:
* Backup PRLs
* Restore PRLs
* Fast
Sent from my HTCEVOV4G using xda app-developers app
PRL's can't be flashed in recovery, you need a program like qpst to do that, and as I said before my 3vo is gone, so no device specific stuff
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
I did not expect device specific or flashing PRL's in recovery I simply want QPST running and connecting to the device through root.
Open QPST>Hide QPST>Call ##diags#>QPST Reapears

How about an app that transfers my save games from my old device to my new device?
I mean how come iOS does this and Android doesnt?
Titanium backup already does that and so does appbak and any other app backing up tool

No I meant without the need of root access. Titanium Backup without the root access is what I'm talking about. Not every user understands rooting. I'm talking about a simple app with a click of a button just like iCloud.
But I'm guessing save datas are stored in a rooting access required location am I right? If thats the case, then only Google can come up with something.
if you are still accepting ideas..
have you seen the google glass' video that says how it feels like to wear google glass?
try making something based on that model, like the camera viewfinder is our eye and we say to give commands. Let's say we speak "what's the weather" and it shows the weather in viewfinder just like it is shown in video. other features can also be implemented.
