[Q] Whatsapp Battery Consuption - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys does anyone know if applications like whatsapp and liveprofile drain the battery a lot?

Whatsapp doesn't drain my battery, i'm using it since forever and its great.

I use whatsapp often and I haven't experienced drainage.

I ask because I have whatsapp but I see people posting that they get one or two days out of their phones and I cant seem to get more than 13 hours out of it and thats with lowest brightness, frozen apps, underclocking and undervolting

Facebook standby battery drain?

Hello,
Since a few days or propably even more, i have some problems with battery life. The reason is the facebook for android app. I uave already turned off the automatic sync, so the app shouldnt start itself but here is the partial wakeup spareparts shows me after a day of very light use (i have sometimes closed the facebook process when i saw that my battery made jumps of 10% without touching it for an hour, hoping this would help):
Can somebody confirm this drainage or help me how to get rid of it?
Regards.

Ive seen it befoe. Clear data, unistall, reboot, and reistall. That fixed it fo me
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Go to settings->application->manage application->all->facebook and tap "force stop".
I uninstalled Facebook for this exact reason.
Installed friendcaster and sync my pix and I get the exact same (if not better) user experience with far less battery wastage. Best thing I did for my handset (except root it ) the only downside is having two apps to replace one. But hell, it works!
I'll try friendcaster and syncmypix now. Hopefully these apps wont drain as much as facebook did
Thank you for your reply

unistall facebook for this reason. You can use friendcast
I am going to try taking Facebook of off my wife's phone and putting Friendcaster on. We have identical phones, roms, and kernels, yet her phone eats up way more battery than mine on standby (10% an hour). I put Watchdog lite on both of our phones and it popped up with a notification on her phone that said Facebook was using quite a bit of CPU. I even force stopped Facebook and it seems her phone is still draining battery.
Thanks for the suggestions in this thread.

What you did ? was less battery drain with friendcaster ?
facebook app on android is evil
old thread but I will contribute and confirm this was the case for me.
I didn't track the stats with any app, however recently the facebook app stopped syncing my contacts. After re-installing it one day, my battery life drained twice as fast even though it was idle for most of the day. I recently got rid of the facebook app completely and my battery life it miles better when idle, it is such a big difference and this facebook app is evil.
I have it periodically check for updates, however I have several other apps that check as well, but facebook itself seemed to be such a battery hog compared to other apps.
sorry to bump an old thread ...but i can confirm this too.
my galaxy S2 is on XWLP3 ..and it's rock solid.
except for the fact last weekend i was on holiday away from my office desk (and it's usb charger cord) and i noticed that my phone was rapidly draining, from 100% at 9am in the morn ..to completely dead by midday :/
thought my s2's battery had started to die ..but then come tuesday, my mate popped over and asked if i had noticed the FB app chewing up ton's of cpu time lately.
and sure enough ... that was it. he too was seeing his s2's drain aay to nothing ..and this is a guy who usually could make his stock s2 run two whole days on a single charge :/
so i think unless you back out of the app ... and stop it. it will kill yr battery in no time flat at all :/

[Q] Diagnose High AOS

Hey guys, I'm experiencing extremely high AOS usage in the battery stats. It is almost always higher than Display Usage.
SETUP
Rom: HyDrOG3N-ICS 13.05
Kernel: SiyahKernel v3.2.5.1
Battery: Official 2000mah
I've got some UV/UC for CPU and GPU, I don't experience any freezes or slowdown's at all.
I've tried turning off BLN and it didn't affect the AOS usage which means that there must be something else contributing to the high AOS usage.
I've got sync on and some periodic (1hr interval) syncs such as weather. I've got an additional push account. [IMO, this shouldn't be part of AOS]
Does anyone have any ideas how I can find out the culprits for AOS?
betterbaterystats app install an c wats draining....

is that betterbatterystats ? or the normal battery stats in the ics options ?
depending on how much screen on time u have ur next big battery sucker will be Aos (since u stated that u have sync on) if the phone is idle most of the time...
in my case i see Aos usage thru the first half of the day being the most battery sucker, passing afternoon its display and calls with Aos after them and at night i have Aos climb back up top... why? because i leave the phone in my pocket most of the time except for when i need to call/send a msg thru whatever app/sms/mms..... or anything and that keeps the phone awake for that short time and then its back to idle in my pocket and the only thing working is Aos checking email and whatever is on in sync
dont be surprized to see it up top its only natural, but keep track of how much power u lose. Losing 0-5% of battery life an hour on idle(screen off/locked) depending on signal strength with sync on is normal... more than that and i would be looking for any wakelocks or whatever is causing the phone to lose so much battery juice.
i have seen bad modems use even more battery juice just trying to maintain a good signal even with data&sync off and 2g
Not sure how I managed to fix it. There wasn't any out of the ordinary wakelocks. I flashed the 3.2.8.2 siyah kernel and at the same time adjusted the polling rate of BMW. Seems like it was battery monitor widget battery polling rate that contribute to the AOS. I always thought that it would show up as a separate usage stat.

Check your battery usage. What is using most of your battery?
Turning screen brightness to 50% will obviously help more than just about anything else. Also make sure there aren't any issues with Media Scanner eating battery (sometimes it hangs in the background and does not let the device go to sleep--this made my battery behave very similar to yours).
Is your phone overclocked? Are processes running in the background? Once I solved my media scanner solution, my phone lasts for a couple days with moderate usage (games, wifi web).
Let us know what things are using the most of your battery (settings>power saver>battery use) and maybe we can go from there.

[Q] Question about the HTC One battery life

Hi everyone, this is my first time to post in this forum, please let me know if I do something wrong, thank you.
I bought the HTC One last week and so far I love it! It is a gorgeous phone! However, I think I might suffer from battery life problem. My phone lost 4-6% of battery overnight with Wifi off. Also, when I am web browsing/texting/watching Youtube etc, the battery discharged pretty fast, losing 1% on every 4-5 mins. Is that normal? I have attached some battery data of my phone. Also, what is RILJ means? It seems like using a few battery but a lot of wakelock counts. The phone is rooted and flashed with Android Revolution HD 11.0 ROM.
The data of the attachment: fully charged before sleep, Skype Video call and watching Youtube for a while after woke up.

That seems pretty good, for the type of usage you are mentioned. Thats decent battery life. Let me ask you this. If you have whatsapp running, skype installed, maybe facebook installed? Plus use blinkfeed etc. Thats pretty decent battery life. According to your batterstats you device has wakelocks due to skype, whatsapp, etc.

I have Facebook installed as well. I use Greenify to force Googel Search/Facebook/Maps and messenger into hibernate mode. I will upload the battery data when it is around 5% left. I still have two questions: Is it normal to loss 3-6% overnight (5-8hrs)? What is RILJ ? It seems like using a few battery but a lot of wakelock counts.
I have uploaded some update battery stats. I still don't understand what DILJ is. It only used 0.4% of the battery but it has 1556 counts. Also, is it normal to loss 3-6% overnight (5-8hrs)? Thx.

How to know if my battery/device is performing at its best?

Hello all,
I just bought a galaxy s7 edge duos and I would like to know if there is a way, perhaps an app, that can tell if there is something wrong with my device.
I want to know if my phone's battery is performing at its best. Right now, it lasts almost 24 hours with an average of 4 to 6 hours on screen usage. I mostly browse the Web, chat with whatsapp, and play boom beach and clash royale for 30 to 45 minutes a day. I think it is consuming too much battery when idle, like one percent or so per hour.
I would like to read your opinions.
Bumping... please help out
Look into a battery stats app. But you will find that it's whatsapp draining your battery. Facebook apps are all well known bad apps for everything from performance to battery life.
