I'm currently working on a hybrid/cyanogen based firmware for the lg ally to give it some life. I'm not very familiar with cyanogen and a question has risen...
When I remove adw launcher, tethering options dissapear from cyanogen, is the tethering settings in the adw apk? Or linked somehow?

I'm in a different situation, but..
on my Evo 4G running CM7 I have uninstalled ADW after installing GO Launcher. I still have the options for tethering.

Huh... guess ive tampered with something in the framework i wasnt suppose to then?
Well i didnt want all the cyanogen features in my rom anyways but getting a tethering option will be harder i suppose.

Hi, i just recently rooted my eris (like yesterday) and flashes it with Kaos Froyo v31 and keep getting android and adw force closes after unlocking. Anyone else having this problem?

Try doing a full wipe and then reflash.

K, I think I figured it out, for some reason I got a notification when using the SetCPU widget that to only have one widget on at a time, I deleted the weather, and Im fine.
The number of widgets doesnt really matter. You need to have all apps that use widgets saved to internal memory and all home launchers in internal as well. When you reboot or connect to the computer your sd card is unmounted so for everything to work just put them in internal memory and be patient when you reboot. If you still have problems go to adw settings and reboot adw.

Instead of using ADW on KaosFroyo, try using LancherPro; I get better performance and smoother results using LauncherPro. You can find it on the Android Market.
+1 with Launcher Pro +2 for PLUS! I have seen a drastic change in speed with this!

sorry for a newb question.. But is it possible to use rom manager to flash this keyboard on a stock non rooted vibrant? or rom manager is for rooted phones only?

Yes I get fc too. This happend earlier today when I flashed a diff multi-touch keyboard. The problem is that this is only compatible with 2.1. We need someone to port this to 2.2.
It's an app, so there should be away to do this without root, but this requires root.
This is for 2.2, not eclair.

I stumbled on this this morning. I have to say, this is the best keyboard I've used in portrait mode. Not counting Swype of course.
Is there anyway you can get touchwiz 4.5 on UnNamed ROM 2.2.1??? I hear that is has a feature to allow it to rotate to landscape while TW4 does not...Is this possible?

I have used Google. That is one of the reasons I posted a thread, when you Google such things your results are from forums such as this. How does this not warrant a thread it was a question, I received an answer, now just need help? Im looking to find a flashable tw 4.5 if in fact that can be done. I've been digging for awhile now people say they have done it yet I haven't found anything to flash just yet

My experience is that TW4.5 is a buggy hack.
LAuncherPro has landscape rotation support.

I'm looking for some help, I've an Evo 3d and I had been in 2.3.4 official rom and yesterday I decided to upgrade to 4.0.3 Official rom so I did it, the process was done successfuly... but now I've a trouble with Sense Launcher when I use an app (whatever app) and then I come back to my desk my Sense shows "loading", the screen freeze until 5.6 second after, It's painful!! .
I upgraded my device via Official OTA from 2.3.4 to 4.0.3, could you help me or advice me what should I do in order to fix this trouble? What's wrong? My device isn't rooted and it has always worked fine!

I believe the OTA changed the OOM settings, and thus Sense is getting killed while you are running other apps. When you return home, Sense has to reload itself. If you are rooted, you can change the OOM settings. Without root, the only thing I can think of is to install a 3rd party launcher such as Nova and check the option in settings to always keep the launcher in memory.

umm If I'll install a 3er party app I'd be able keep sense animations, widgets and other stuff from sense UI?
...what about doing a hardreset/factory reset?
Could anyone give me a hand?
If you are not rooted I would think your options are limited
Do the obvious and clean up unused and performance hungry apps
As a last resort, factory reset may be your only option...
If your rooted I would try wiping dalvik and cache...

Using a 3rd party laucher wont keep the Sense "stuff". You can try them from the playstore and uninstall if you dont like the look, with no issues or system changes to your phone. Try Nova and/or ADW Launcher.

This is my first post on XDA!
I installed CM 10.2 yesterday on my DNA and the built in tethering app is working great.. but its buried in the menus. I would really like to have it available on the pull down screen or quick menu. Is this available stock or would I need an apk customization?
Or is this available in ViperDNA or CM 11 ?
