Hi guys ive just recently rooted my X10 i mean it worked and all that but after i did the final step from this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16212649 : i was to install xrecovery toget rid of the audio lags but the flashtool stopped detecting my phone i relaunched it and restarted my phone and PC still nothing happen but PC companion can still detect it is there any way i can fix the audio lags without having to install xrecovery?please help guys thank you

yes sir i was able to turn on usb debugging evey single intruction on this link i was able to follow perfectly i ended up trying it 3 times now from re-rooting still no, luck :<

I presume when you restarted the pc, your virus scanner was still off as well as the firewall? Make sure you totally disconnect from the internet when you switch those off. Check wireless as well as wired connections.
I would check in the system device manager of your pc and see if u have any unknown usb devices ahowing when your phone is connected. If so direct it to the usb drivers that comes with flash tool and see if that helps.

Same problem....cannot install xrecovery as flashtool won't recognize my device anymore! !

awesome i was able to istall xrecovery now using flash tool all i had to do is disable my anti malware and anti virus using task manager iended thier processes and now im with xrecovery sweet

When i connect usb cable to pc it only charge the phone, but it does not detect sd card. Nothing on notification bar to mount/unmount as before. Please help (sorry if already posted, tried search but no success)
Btw i just update win 7 sp 1 2 last week. Also removed pc companion on phone.

Have you tried to install PC Companion on your comp before connecting your phone. It will also install the necessary drivers needed to detect your phone.
I did install new pc companion and seus but nothing. Tks anyway.

hi.. try in another pc if possible,, otherwise do a clean windows install,,that might work ,,
i have tried all suggestions above without success...
this happened to me i had to send my phone back as the usb port was broken but i could still charge the phone, got a replacement and all is good
not sure if u can get a normal SE rom on via memory card and xrecovery if you can connect your memory card to your pc.. luckly i had SE rom on when i sent it back to THREE UK and it was accepted for repair.

good for you. I,m in indonesia, won't get replacement that easily. I took my phone to sony 2 days ago. they said need 3 days to examine it

before you'll say something: i've done everything in every manual i've found, the Flashtool guide für noobies too.
My problem is, i can't root my X10, flashtool says and superoneclick (i have used every version i have found) said always that my phone is not plugged, but it is!!
At the moment i use the latest firmware, 2.1.A.0.435
So what can i do? Has anyone a simple trick?

Are you sure you have connected your phone is flash mode....you have to hold the back button while you plug in your phone. The notification led will be green if you've done this right..

Flash mode wtf?
Make sure you have unknown sources and usb debugging enabled then try again with flashtool

USB Debugging is on, and i tested it also on flash mode, but it doesn't helped.
So, i don't know where's the problem

Try changing the usb port and then try rooting... the usb port was the problem in my case, it was recognising other usb devices but not my phone.
Also try installing SEUS first so that it installs the x10 drivers onto the pc.

After trying the azzuzu root method for fw2.3.3, I have royaly efed my phone up.
My phone is not recognized by the computer. After being on 2.3.3 it reverted me back to 2.1. Everytime I plug it up it tries to install drivers but then it says unrecognized device. It has done this on my PC and my girlfriends PC. I have tried PC companion, and flash tool and niether one of them recognize my phone! So I'm stuck with an unrooted x10i .435. Please someone help me!

I've uninstalled, pc companion, seus, anything related 2 the phone, drivers u name it! I uninstall, restart pc, reinstall, and get the same unrecognized device error! Seems like the drivers that the phone is installing is ever up

in short u are f****d.!
try rooting it with super one click or zroot(somethinng like that).
Yo.. let me explain something.
When i rooted and downgraded the kernel it used the old ADB drivers.
When i upgraded it required the new ADB drivers.
Maybe that is your issue.
flash the generic SE firmware with flashTool. It should work...
turn off phone - take out battery - press back key - insert usb - insert battery.
That should do the trick. Then Flashtool to stock
I probably have used this method 50 times the past 2 days trying to upgrade to GB. Always flashes ok but phone wont boot. Finally gave up and stayed with 2.1 and upgraded to MIUI. So it aint dead yet, just injured LOL
2 different computers won't recognize the phone, I can't flash with flashtool! It goes into flag mode but flashtooldoesnt recognize the phone. Somebody know how to manually install drivers?

similar issue
i have a somewhat similar problem...i used azzuzu's method to downgrade the kernel for rooting..as it was said the phone got stuck on the sony ericsson logo and i tried to connect it according to the steps..but flashtool isnt recognising my phone anymore and busybox isnt being installed..now my phone never starts up and is always stuck at the sony ericsson logo..plz someone help sorry for posting this in your thread , feeling pretty helpless right now

Try rebooting your pc aswell ... worked for me...
Second thing i noticed is i had alot of detecting issues aswell and even tough i had the stock rom and same flash tool,
It wouldnt work on my work computer for some reason. ( both windows7

And as i was testing to see what the exact sequence was for the ( unplug,turn off,hold back,plug in) i found it worked each time if i did it like this
Unplug
Remove battery after shutdown
Plug in
Hold back button
Slide battery in
Succes!!

I just recently got this x10 n it was running TripN's Miui rom. So i decided to unlock the BL.. So i installed flashtool n every drivers related on my windows 8 64bit..i managed to revert back to stock 2.3.3.
Now the problem is my pc wont recognize the device anymore.. I tried to reinstall the drivers, restarted numerous times but no avail...
Any help would be much appreciated

make sure u use latest version of flashtool, it should have fixed issues with windows 8. if it wont work try reinstall you device using Sony Ericson Update Service ( SEUS) or PC Companion. --- but Im not sure if they work on windows 8 too.
