I hope someone can answer me this question.
As it seems the only time the 2d/3d switch button works for me is when in camera/camcorder mode.
When play 3D games, doesn't matter if you switch 2D or 3D it is always on 3D. Same goes to viewing 3D photos and watching videos.
Is it correct or is my 2D/3D switch button malfunctioned.
Thanks in advance!
In General all gameloft games should Support to turn 3d off in settings or with a 2d/3d slider in game.
In Videos, just tested it, you can just click the 3d button on the right upper corner to switch, should be also working on photos.
..the hardware 3d switch is indeed just for the camera.

That 3d/2d toggle is for the camera exclusively. The gallery will display 3d pics regardless of the position of the switch. If a pic or vid is in 3d it will be displayed as such.
... If you take a vid or pic in 3d you can switch it to display in 2d in the gallery by tapping the screen and there will be an 2d/3d icon toggle top right corner

Wow, thanks i didn't know that either!
How about on youtube?
Sometimes it will show a yt video in 3d and sometimes (same video) it wont. It always works after a soft reset but sometimes after fooling with the phone it will no longer show yt videos in 3d
Anyone else notice the same thing?

Just gonna ask another question here instead of a new thread.......since it does this , does it also save your 3d pics in regular 2d format? id like to upload pics to the pc i took in 3d for facebook and all that crap.......if not......any one know of any converters?
I feel like this is a super noob question, but the EVO 3D does not play recorded videos in 3D, It instead splits the screen into 2videos running the samething? any ideas?
Thanks.
Can you at least look at the front page before posting?

I did check that, I should of been more specific.
When I right menu click, it tells me the options to "Trim" or "Select Player"
On the top Right there is a 2D and 3D icon, however Pressing that does no effect the split screen play.
I don't have that issue!
Where are you trying to watch?
Try watching your video in the gallery.. then hit menu and switch to watch in 3d .. if it flips over to 3d and still is side by side go back to 2d and back to 3d. I've had to do this before to get movies I downloaded to work
Pull battery, I had this happen on videos a couple times.

Is there a mod or an app to get manual focus? I could really use this when taking photos. Auto focus is good to an extent, but when I need something close I watch it go from a perfect focus to blurry and it's really annoying
I second this.

You know we have a two-stage camera button, right? Half way down focuses, all the way down takes the picture. So just get up close to your subject, half press, and then adjust your length to match the depth of field you're looking for.
I don't know of any apps that can hold the aperture at a fixed place though.
Like I said in my first post, I do that and watch as it focuses beautifully on the subject but then blurs it back out. Try it. Use the keys on your keyboard to take test shots and toy with it, it's quite annoying
It does have touch to focus as well...

You just touch on your screen where or what you want your camera to focus on. You notice the grid will move. Then snap the pic. You can also turn off auto focus in the settings. Im pretty sure there is no actual manual focus mode.
The op is right, the camera auto focus is stupid on close up.

Have you ever actual done those things when trying to take a photo close up? Because I have and guess what, it does the EXACT same thing as pressing the shutter button and without auto focus on, it still focuses
Yea agrees with op. Sometimes you get lucky but usually touch focus and half pressing the shutter button will focus then before it takes the picture it will lost its focus

All of the 3D photos I take on the Evo 3D come out fine, but some of the photos I get from external sources (Such as the Phereo 3D app), seem to be reversed. Parts which are supposed to be in the front are pushed back, and vice-versa. Adjusting the 3D dosen't appear to work as this just seems to change the virtual distance between the eyes. It seems more like the left and right eyes are reversed. Tilting the Evo 3D to purposely reverse the effect causes them to display properly.
Whats weird is that half the images I save form Phereo 3D do this... and the other half come out ok, despite all of them displaying correctly on the Phereo 3D app.
Any easy way to fix these photos that have the 3D effect reversed?
I'm wondering if theres a way to turn the continuous auto focus off while recording video but leaving the tap to focus option available. Phone companies have to understand not everyone wants auto focus because at times you have to fight with it. I like how the HTC Amaze 4g had the touch to focus but not continuous autofocus.
(3rd party video apps arent necessarily my bag but if they have this option, please do list them)
thanks guys!

I'd like to know about this too. I feel like the phone gets blurry and I have to close it and reopen it to refocus. I'd like to be able to turn off auto focus.

I think that he means an AOSP (not Sense) ROM will not have auto-focus. It won't be ImageSense, so that makes sense.
Okay, I'm done using the word sense in every context possible.
