My guess is your flashing wrong somehow. There should be no problem if it will run some fine. I do get an issue with some roms stuck on boot screen. I get round it by flashing with 2.2.1 then flashing to 2.3.3/4

cyanogen 7 beta
version recommended :2.911
Instructions:
1. Download the latest release, and extract the .tar file from the .7z/.rar archive (using WinRAR or 7zip).
2. Flash .tar file in Odin with One Package option - do NOT select any other options such as debug.
3a. If you are flashing a Cyanogen -> Cyanogen upgrade, or hotfix to Cyanogen, you do not need to do a data wipe. However, if you have problems you should probably try a data-wipe to see if it resolves the problem.
3b. If your phone is running any Froyo), you must do a data wipe.
4. IMPORTANT: On first boot, the Cyanogen logo will freeze when your phone vibrates, and it will appear to be doing nothing for about 3 minutes. Be patient, as it is applying the custom settings and fixing system-wide permissions. This slow boot only happens after each new flash.
*2.991 - fixed bluetooth and wifi, and microfone fix
*for all version
don't work:
sim toolkit
telephone (partially, you must do a call at free number and after you can answering ever , at the reboot the bug is return)
I advise you to set the governator to conservative , the battery's life during very more

You need to flash a multi file 2.2.1 rom first, because they are the only ones that include the first and second stage bootloaders (the APPBOOT tar.md5).
The only one I know of is S5830JPKC2.
Download from here:
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-s5830.htm
Is the second arabic one.
Then you can flash any rom you like.
to ilarrain
so i must flash S5830JPKC2 first, and after the coderom?

Hi
I'm trying to hard reset Galaxy 5. It's my friends's phone actually. It's locked with pattern and he forgot the pattern. Now the galaxy is asking for GMail account that he doesn't know too. I tried to enter mine, but there is no internet conection on his phone. I tried to turn it on with the power key, but it's like i never clicked on anything.
I tried with ODIN using these files:
OPS File: C:\Users\Puma9251\Desktop\EUROPA_I5508_v1.0.ops
One package: C:\Users\Puma9251\Downloads\ClockworkMod-Galaxy5-RFS-v0.7.tar
I'm trying to install CWM and install custom ROM or at least reset the device, but nothing happens. It'just restarts the device and does not enter in recovery.

Just install adb on your PC, connect your turned on phone via usb, open console on pc and type adb reboot recovery
Ok,i did it. I managed to go to recovery mode and install SonyStyle ROM. I did wipe cache/data before that. I restarted teh device, i thought i will se loading ROM. No,iot's just showing SAMSUNG logo, i think it's a bootloop. I can't conect it to adb anymore,as i can't turn it on. Can't flash it with ODIN too, it says close port and waiting for restart and the phoen restart itself with dark screen, then SAMSUGN logo and thats all.
Any ideas?!
Have you closed all Kies processes and ran Odin as Administrator?

Hello, look there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151396&highlight=cwm and you could try with some psyke83's roms. Almost every rom is build on them. I recomend CM10.1 it's stable and everything works.
