Spb shell 3d for tablets - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Themes and Apps

It has finally came out Spb shell 3d for tablets and it looks AMAZING I have uploaded a screenshot and will try to upload more. Even though it won't come up in the market you can still go to their website and purchase it there
Sent from my GT-P7510 using XDA Premium App

why won't it come up in the market?
I can't purchase it twice if that's what they are hoping for.

Officially its not supported for the Galaxy Tab 10.1

You can do what I did, I bought it from my Galaxy S2, then backed it up using titanium, then copied the two backup files from my phone to my tab, then restored the app only.
Works a treat!

Hopefully SPB brings us this soon:

That would take a LOT of memory

$15.00 is a lot to pay for an app.

You have to be rooted for this to work but;
Install mobile shell on your phone from the market.
install titanium backup and backup SPB Mobile Shell 3D on your phone.
It will have created 3 files in /sdcard/titanium all starting with "com.spb.shell3d" copy these files to the same place on your Tab.
Then on your Tab, go to Titanium Backup and restore SPB Mobile Shell which will now be listed, thats it.

Its been out for a while now for tablets. I had the phone version and used adb to get it on my GT when they updated to the latest version (late august). Its pretty good. I would say on par with touchwiz as far as speed. The Widgets/dedicated screen apps like calendar make it awesome though. They are definitely tablet optimized. That being said spb has limited customization and a lot of form over function. I moved on to adw which I feel is superior.

so I found it out on the market, and it's relatively an expensive app.
Is there any 'newer' feedback about this app from SGT 10.1 users?

Its too laggy, better off donate 15 bucks to some of the dev here is more worth it

I bought it and got a refund. Way too much ram usage and it takes like 2 min to load if the os kills it. Really cool though but not for me.

I have a problem with SPB, sometimes when I run a game or a special app that changes the screen orientation (or resolution), pressing the Home or Back button to come back to SPB, makes a delay about 20 secs, it just says "Loading SPB Shell 3D".
I don't know why it's happening, any idea?

but this one changes the way you see your tablet. miles ahead from the laggy touch wiz and certainly a looker when you compare it with my dear ADW others doesn't deserve a look even

What's the best way to back up apps?

I've been using titanium backup when I flash a new rom. I usually do a full data wipe then, once the new rom is installed, i restore all of my apps and data.
The problem I'm having with titanium backup is that I have to individually install each app which is extremely time consuming.
Does anyone know of a more efficient method of backing up my apps?
BTW, I know you can make a .zip file using titanium but I wasn't able to flash it.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
I just spent a couple bucks for the Pro key, which allows for batch restoring/backups. Completely worth it when you're wiping and flashing on a daily basis.
I agree. I bought the Pro key. I think buying it through the Amazon App store will bypass any currency conversion issues, possibly. (It seems like when I bought Titanium Backup Pro, I got charged an extra dollar because of the currency conversion....I don't think I had that problem with another app in a non-local currency via Amazon.)
I am seconding what he said. The Pro key is well worth the couple of bucks or whatever it costs. You just hit the restore and let it do it's thing. No prompts.
At $5.99, this will be one of the most expensive apps I have purchased but I'll give it a try if you guys say it's worth it.

It was the second app (of two) I ever purchased (the other being The Sims for $1), and it was totally worth it. Titanium Backup is simply a great program. The batch functionality alone is worth the price- Dropbox integration is a very nice perk (along with a few other Pro features).
I astro for back ups
I bought the Pro version of Titanium Backup after my first slow and tedious backup without the batch function. Plus the automatic backups are great.
i use my backup pro
Gonna have to invest in this as well. Thanks.
Alrighty. Just purchased and backing up as I type. I'll let you guys know.
Why doesn't google market keep track of the free apps we download?
That way when we first sync with google again it would at least get all our apps installed again.

That would be cool but it would still give a prompt for every single app which takes forever and is super annoying. I bought the Pro key and installed the new Nameless rom but now I have to reroot. I'll let you guys know how it worked out
Pro key for titanium. Best app purchase ever, hands down
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Pro key was my first purchase from the market. I don't regret it in the slightest. I always do a batch backup before flashing a rom and then batch restore after. I consider it essential if you are rooted.

It does, actually, in stock Froyo and above, but for some reason the ROMs we have on the Fascinate right now don't.
Normally, when you activate your Google account on a newly flashed phone, all your apps, paid and free, will automatically download as part of your first sync. It doesn't prompt you and it's totally automatic.
I do prefer using TB, though, as Google doesn't backup app data and it can take a really long time to download every app if you have a lot of them. Also, Google's sync occasionally misses apps or downloads ones that you had uninstalled.

I wonder if I have always done something wrong then, I may be new to the fascinate rom scene but I flashed multiple roms on my og droid and they never seemed to give me more than the paid apps
in the market.
admittedly these were aosp roms not stock verizon roms maybe that had something to do with it?
I have the paid version off TB as well but when flashing from say a TW rom to an AOSP rom I prefer to download the apps from the market everything seems to run smother when I do it this way.

Agreed...titanium b/u is worth every penny...on a side note, for me going into settings-> applications-> manage applications-> running applications and going to market (or in my case since I'm on ukb...its tsm market) and hitting clear data...then when I go to the market and hit my apps it will show all of my apps both free and purchased, assuming I don't have any of them frozen because frozen apps won't get recognized by the market...it doesn't start downloading on its own but at least I have a list of complete app download history should I need an update.

never bought the key for titanium, use the free version i like it because of the prompts. Sometimes i have apps that i dont use so i dont install.

New android market!

Yes, the brand new Market apk that I found on the general apps and games forums is working
It's quite nice I must say (lolWP7ui)
Just install as a normal app.
Make a backup of the original first via Titanium backup just in case!
It is a bit laggy at times though :/
I downloaded the new market this morning from the Samsung Galaxy S2 (I move to that phone in August.) forum and it works good. Like you say, a little laggy, but looks so much better.
I like this.

I usually choose speed over polished GUI. Not this time though.
yes works well looks very nice
I'm probably gonna switch back to the old one...
It's way to laggy q_q
Agreed, looks nice but to laggy on my wildfire however on my Galaxy tab it is fine so good work google! I do like the flicking to switch between different categories similar to the google+ app
Market Looks Gr8...
It looks very nice, and it works fine.
Thanks!
Old (2.3.6) Market for those of you who want to downgrade and didn't make a backup.
(extracted from Ruymanca v7.2 system/app)
I don't seem to have any lag (compared with a Nexus S) unless the images are still loading.
Well yes, that's true, but I still prefer speed over eye candy :/
Link is offline. Can anyone upload it on xda?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Thank you for that, uploaded as attachment.
@nejc121
Is your version comes from WF (Sense - auto update) or just copied from another source and you did not know at what resolution is? I installed from the other site and works terrible, maybe if we have apk from automatic updates it will work better?
It came from another source.
And I don't think the WF will ever get this market....
It would lag too much.
It is far to laggy and fc every time. I used it. Links good when it worked so went back to old one thanks for the uploaded

Not necessary. Even backup of old one is not necessary.
You can just uninstall the updates for market to get back to the original one anytime.
[Thinking everyone will be flashing the newer market as installing from apk file, and not added to the customrom.zip and flashed].

Seriously, why is everyone saying this is laggy? Once the images have loaded maybe 4 seconds at the most the market is smooth. Are you not overclocked? I would like to see the effects with JIT enabled too, however I am using a sense based ROM (wilpuzzle).
Don't seem to have any lag loving the new market

I bought it and got a refund after about 10 minutes. It ran very smoothly on my Note and it was pretty fun to use. But when I tried to add that cool weather widget it said that it was unavailable to download from the Market. If I'm going to shell out $17 for a launcher, everything better work. I will buy it again once everything is confirmed to be working. All in all it's pretty slick, especially on the Note!
Edit: Nevermind, I got them to work. It's pretty cool. You can always get a refund in the first 15 minutes if you don't like it.

It's missing a lot of functionality that the youtube video had . Seems like the theme also focuses so much on organizing and not enough on what you would do day to day. Why not have an edit mode?
If you search for TSF shell there are widget add-ons you need to download like the music and weather stuff. I'll pass until a few updates come out to bring all the functionality.

Looking for solution for a 2nd "user"

Hello,
My son loves playing on my phone as well as my wife's. Issue is he's two and a half years old....
Needless to say you'll find new apps installed via ads in games, random messages sent to people, things moved and or deleted. We've since put locks on our phones but that's not really a solution as then you need to unlock it for him and he still has full access to everything (last time my wife found out she had 20 new friend requests on Facebook lol)
My question is.. is there eight a good home launcher that you can make a second user with limited app access (only ones you selected to allow) or a ROM with a similar feature built in that works with galaxy s devices (mines a gt-i9000t and hers is a vzw fascinate)
Or, any other app suggestions that default to a kid mode unless you unlock/exit the app to get full access to the device?
Mine is currently running aokp, hers is on the stock vzw firmware but I have no problem doing a rom and/or rooting if required.
Thanks!

4.1 was also found to have some code for 'user' logins as well (so in sometime this wiml hopefully be supported in an official capacity)

Set up a second launcher just for him and put the apps he can use on the desktop and delete the shortcut for the app drawer
You can also set up a pin to download from the play store now i think.

Ideas for a killer android app

You do realize that developing apps isn't just something you can do in a few hours right? And those apps that get hundreds of thousands of downloads have entire companies behind them?

If I had an idea for an app that would get 100,000 downloads, why would I share it?
I know how to make apps, i have made quite a few for personal use. Because maybe they have a brilliant idea and they don't know how/can't code, we can team up.
I've always wanted to make a better First Responder app.
How about an app that steams movies from the pc while on the go..one that a lot cheaper than vlc direct and one that easier to set up

I know you say you have enough, but here is a request I hope would be easy... An app that would allow a long press on the volume buttons to change tracks from the current music app in use. Example, I use power amp, the HTC music app, and doggcatcher for podcasts. But most roms I can only use long press for the HTC music app. If possible, I would be grateful.
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk 2
That isn't possible as an app, and even if it is, it would hog up a lot of battery running in the background, you would need a new rom or tweak to accomplish that
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
I would like for an app to top me off in the morning and make me a cup of coffee.
I would like to see an app like Boot manager, since is no longer supported and I personally have trouble making dual boot on my phone with that app (bot loops). I heard it has something to do with jb.
Model: Evo 3d GSM,
Rom: AOKP JB 4.2.1-- helicopter88,

No I meant without the need of root access. Titanium Backup without the root access is what I'm talking about. Not every user understands rooting. I'm talking about a simple app with a click of a button just like iCloud.
But I'm guessing save datas are stored in a rooting access required location am I right? If thats the case, then only Google can come up with something.
if you are still accepting ideas..
have you seen the google glass' video that says how it feels like to wear google glass?
try making something based on that model, like the camera viewfinder is our eye and we say to give commands. Let's say we speak "what's the weather" and it shows the weather in viewfinder just like it is shown in video. other features can also be implemented.
