1) Copy "csrd.exe", "injection.dll" to root dir "\"
2) Create text file "pr.txt" in root dir "\"
3) Fill pr.txt with pattern, described below.
4) Run csrd.exe
5) For unload dll and stop csrd run unload.exe (in any dir)
Pattern:

If it works on Hd mini maybe you should post it in the Hd mini thread too
How does it work? I run it, change resolution, but i don't see any changes.
Try new version.
Put injection.dll and CSRD.exe to 1 folder. Then run CSRD.exe, change resolution and click "Apply".
Good work.
Look like wvgafix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=455974

Thank you This one works. In your first post you said "For example I change resolution and dpi in my HTC HD mini to play games". So what resolution and dpi exactly do you set? For which games do you use it?

I set:
X 240
Y 320
DPI 96
So far I have only used "Orions Legend of Wizards".
In theory, with this program any game should run normally for that resolution and dpi.
Shayder think you can make this app support cmd functions (so we can make the switch silently... useful to use with MortScript)?
Also as an idea would it be possible to make a certain app run inside a window which size is that of the required screen resolution (wrapping the running app...)? The idea seems possible (vijay555 aparantly did something similar...). This way only the selected app has it's "resolution" changed not affecting the rest of the system (which tends to cause gfx issues)
with a command prompt version i can prob it on my alpine nve-300p navigation system tool. this run with windows ce 5 and igo
so does this mean that if i use this on my wvga device, i can play games that are made for qvga in full screen?
Sources...
But this program change the resolution only when you play a game or change everything? Can I have a guide to install the program?
1)This app change global resolution and DPI.
2) just run "csrd.exe"
Just a stupid question, can this program "emulate" a vga resolution on a qvga device? Thanks for your work and for the sources.
Excellent, thank you.
Thank you for the app SHAYDER.
Just to confirm how this program should operate. You set the screen res and DPI that you want it set to and hit apply. After that, only that portion of the screen will be used?
For example, changing it to [email protected] will use only small section of a WVGA screen (top left)?
It will not allow you to run a 240x320 game at 480x640 or 480x800, correct?
The game you wanted to use, will it only run if it detects a QVGA screen? Is that why you needed to force a new resolution?

Yes. This is the first and the only one reason.
This app just simulate resolution and dpi.
Excellent, thank you.

[Q]Pixel Density and Games

Hey there dev's and users...sorry to bother...
i've noticed that SE xperia mini, mini pro, active, live with walkman have the same cpu/gpu/ram as xperia arc/ray/play but they have lower screen res...
sooo....
if you use a game which is built for arc/ray/play it would run on the lower res devices but some buttons/options wouldn't be able to be used because of the screen resolution...
is there any way to fix the apk of the game so it could be used in the lower res devices?
because those games aren't available for our devices normally...

no games' resolution cant be changed but there is a way to change the screen density of your phone.Once i accidentally changed my screen density my phone was completely destroyed so i wouldnt suggest you to try it.If you want to though try googl-ing -> android screen density tool or somethin like that
Change the screen resolution dpi in build.prop. needs root. Apps on market will also do it for you

Can Someone please test Nest thermostat App?

Can someone in the states try installing the nest thermostat app on their streak
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nestlabs.android
I can't download it in the U.K. I have tried market enabler and other tricks but I am wondering if it is just the Streak's resolution that is stopping it. There is a review saying it works on the note, so I'm hopeful.
If anyone wants to send me the apk it would most appreciated
Thanks,
Mark
**** Ignore this, found a way of downloading the app and it doesn't support the streak's resolution :-( ******
What do you have the dpi of your Streak set to?

No idea, just the standard resolution.
From Nest
To use the Nest Mobile app for Android, you’ll need:
An Internet-connected Android smartphone (Android 2.2 “Froyo” or later required) with one of the following screen widths:
520 pixels on a HIGH density device.
480 pixels on a HIGH density device.
360 pixels on a MEDIUM density device.
320 pixels on a MEDIUM density device.
270 pixels on a LOW density device.
240 pixels on a LOW density device.
working on GS3
hmmmm, under the impression the GS3 is 720 pixel width, yet the app opens on my device.
just checked their site, same android requirements, and they also mention it should show a popup window if it doesn't meet the requirements.
However, I never got the popup window, so it works with 720?
Looking into Nest, just sent them an email questioning just these items.
Well according to the market, my S5 at 240 dpi is compatable.
The S5 is a standard WVGA (480x800) device, and nearly all devices of it's age are the same thing.

[GUIDE] Change Screen Resolution [Performance Tweak][CM/AOSP]

>Change Screen Resolution<
Introduction:
I'm going to write this guide to teach you how to change the Screen Resolution of your Xiaomi Mi3/Mi4 AOSP/CM Based ROM to improve the graphics performance of your Mi3 without stressing your CPU/GPU while playing games.
What you need to Download:
Resolution Changer by NoMone:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...apk&pcampaignid=APPU_1_TXl1VcrLFoWB8QXozIGIBA
Root Browser:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ser&pcampaignid=APPU_1_oXl1VczIG4_s8AX7-YLQCQ
Note: Default Screen Resolution of Xiaomi Mi 3 is 1080x1920FHD @480 DPI, well what we are going to do is Change it into 720x1280HD @320 to improve performance. (Don't worry about getting the icons bigger, the reason why we have to reduce the DPI on the Build.prop is to avoid glitches and make the Icons and UI at the normal size when changing the resolution, because using the Resolution Changer alone will cause some glitches on other apps )
Steps:
1. Open Root Browser; and find /system/build.prop and open it using RB Text Editor.
2. Find ro.sf.lcd_density=480 and change it to 320.
3. Click Save.
4. Open Resolution Changer; Enter 720 Width, 1280 Height, 320 DPI
5. Click Apply and wait for it to change.
6. Click Yes to Confirm and Skip on the next dialog.
7. Now exit the app and Reboot.
After rebooting, you'll see that you've changed the Screen Resolution to FHD>HD. :good:
Congratulation, to prove it do an Antutu Benchmark test and you'll see the difference. :good:
Additional Info:
(OPTIONAL IF YOU'RE USING CUSTOM DPI ON FULL HD)
If you were using a custom DPI on FULL HD for example;
You're using 400 or 380 or 370 on 1080x1920FHD Resolution,
Do these to properly change resolution to avoid getting the UI or Icons Bigger than Normal.
Example;
If you are using 400DPI on 1080x1920FHD.
400÷3=133DPI
400-133=267DPI
so the right DPI that you're going to use would be; 267DPI on 720x1280HD PLEASE, DONT FORGET to CLICK THANKS!
Everything is working almost perfectly. Some icons are larger than they used to be. But that wasn't problem. Real problem is that SwiftKey keyboard didn't scale. So I had to revert back to Google original keyboard to reset resolution back to 1080p

Oh I forgot to write something about Swift Keyboard, Sorry since I used Google Keyboard. but aside from Swiftkey everything is fine :good:
I have done this years ago. Not only CM/AOSP but all rooted phones.
Thanks for putting some guide though. :good::fingers-crossed:

I wrote this guide for those who are confused and experiencing glitches when using the Resolution Changer alone and of course for the beginners
added additional info.
I just noticed. I used 294 DPI for 720x1280

Alright! ?
Initially tried this with MIUI v5, turned out to be very bad. The icons became very large and going to back to native resolution didn't help either. Fortunately I had nandroid backup.
Later I tried it on MIUI 6, it worked!
Some glitches are there:
- On recent apps screen
- camera effects selection screen
- Calender and clock icons turned invisible
- Minor glitches in clock app
Otherwise everything looks good, and performance bump is noticeable. Excited to find out how much it improves battery life.
Thanks for sharing.

You can but, I won't recommend it because it would just stress out the processor and gpu of that low-end tablet, just leave that be.
Better use gl tools
While everyone gets larger icons,i am getting small icons, small screen, and all the app including resolution changer itself says the current settings is 1080x1920 with 320dpi.
Where am i doing it wrong?
I am on cm12 latest nightly.
same problem as Jongla here, running the same CM 12 nightlies. I guess the problem is that resolution changer doesnt change anything after you apply, current settings are kept as FHD res. Maybe try a different app to do it.

Try this method. Its easier and works just fine.

thanks buddy, this one works like a charm
cool trick..
It's become blurry, not clear like before
Guys, if you're using a CM rom, just install Xposed and install the App Setting module. Then, you just choose the app, turn on the custom settings, choose the resolution and dpi you want, and the app will run with those defenitions without having to mess with the entire UI on the device...

Android TV Screen rotation

Hi,
I'm looking for a recent Android TV Box (Android 9 or 10) model that supports screen rotation either via the Settings configuration or using a 3rd party app.
My idea is to be able to play games like Pinball where the screen is rotated.
I'll deeply appreciate any recommendations.
I have a T9 4G/32GB Android 9 (rockchip RK3318) and changing the build.prop (ro.hwrotation=90) file didn't work. Any ideas/workarounds?
Thank you in advance.
Luis
Thread is old, I know; but just in case.
Screen Resolution Changer (com.iutilities.screen_resolution) is one of those really helpful applications display configuration wise.
