I have quite a large task...I am looking for a Stock Blur like Interface Theme does anyone have this i am running adw over the homebase rom but i like "blur"! Who can help me?

Just install it from the market. Search for gingerbread keyboard, using it.

Awesome forum, and I *think* I already know the answer to this, but is there a simple way of skinning the notification bar on the stock (rooted) Optimus one rom?
Or do I have to flash a whole new rom to the phone?

u can create a black bar for yourself using this:

You cannot do this on stock ROM because it is not deodexed. You need a custom ROM.

I took the jump - forcibly in the end due to my stupid meddling then the absolute need to flash a fresh rom

You can with a Locked (bootstrap) ROM. But locked roms are limited. Can't replace the kernel and such.
Search youtube how to install bootstrap on photon by qbking then look at hybrid rom in dev section it is really better than stock and much faster

No, but if you want a similar experience (minus ICS-only apps of course) you could install Holo Launcher, I'm locked, on the Slim Photon Rom with this and it works and looks great.
I second that. Holo launch in my opinion is the best. Im using the hybrid rom with planters76 ics theme.
