Actually this page was just updated from general announcement to the actual feature page. Before the actual tech specs were not listed and it was in the announcement format as opposed to the current format, which is what they use when selling devices.

You are angry at the wrong group. The FCC did not even approve the SGSII until the end of July. All of the carriers were waiting on the government. Then they have to get their marketing, packaging, stock, etc.

Not really true. The SGS II the US is getting is substantially different from the inter national version (see NFC and button layout change). If the i727 was approved in July, AT&T has been sitting on it since then. We could've had it in May like the rest of the world if AT&T hadn't requested changes.

Why does everybody assume that the big two will get it first? The Vibrant was released first on T-Mobile, it might just be that case this time around too.

You think they're going to let an 80 million subscriber company swallow a 30 million one? And plus, that doesn't get in the way of phone releases. There's still a year to go: plenty of time to sell a variant of the SGSII on T-Mo.

Alright so I was off on the subscriber numbers. That still doesn't change the fact that this deal right now is most likely not going to happen. As the articles you posted say, removing T-Mo from the picture would relieve the pressure the carrier puts on the others with its low prices not to mention a significant amount of people that are against the acquisition, including several members of the FCC.

TMo will be doing its own business for at least a year.

Oh I see your point. But "att already has it" is not correct, speaking your language it WILL have it on May 1st.
And to answer your "why bother question" - because it will be 3.5x cheaper subsidized, it can be freely swapped at AT&T if anything is wrong with the set, and it will carry a one year warranty. Some people prefer this to having no bloatware .
And I HOPE since there is no more exclusivity to iPhone, AT&T won't be maiming features of its android phones.
That said, if I hear that AT&T is releasing at end of July, I will probably buy an import

Ultimately, you will enjoy this device more as how Samsung envisioned it. Although, if you cannot afford the international rates, then the ATT / TMO versions will not differ to much aside from the Software. That can always be modified later on.

Yep. It's a credit to a lot of well written threads that I didn't brick this thing in some narcotic-induced stupor. I love this phone though. It makes the S-AMOLED in my girlfriend's SGS look like a cheap piece of crap.
I think the update truly has been released. I just ran a check new on my phone and one was ready for download.
I'm unlocked and rooted, so I just rejected it.
Hopefully by the time I wake up tomorrow, this will be confirmed or denies by you other guys out there.

i paid full retail for note 3 so im confused on what to do. but in the past i agree with droidrev they havent made a big impact

Not going to work. Verizon's bootloader is locked. Same reason why the CF one root didn't work for AT&T.

Yeah I have to pay full retail anyway. Definitely might as well buy this one. Happy I was unable to get this on release day.

Once we get Odin files we WILL have root.
On the Sprint Galaxy Note 3, and the Verizon variant, there is no serial number listing on the box or in settings. I'm not referring to the IMEI, DEC, or any of those numbers which don't say serial number. I am aware that Sprint and Verizon use the IMEI as a serial number but Samsung doesn't. Is there any way to obtain the serial number from within the phone? Thanks for any assistance that can be given.

The only idea I have is to type ##786# into the dial pad and see if that is what you re looking for.

Thank you but sadly that doesn't give me the serial number either. I find it odd that it's possible with the ATT and T-Mobile variants but not with Sprint or Verizon.

Nope. I wasn't. Not with my phone, not with wife or daughters phones either.
How do you try? I never got mine. Wasn't hard with Note 10.1. Something didn't work his time.

Serial is listed towards bottom right above uptime
Above Uptime I have Bluetooth address. Above that is the Wifi MAC address.

Hmmm... This is what mine looks like. Perhaps you have to enable developer options? If that isn't it that not sure, sorry.

Me too so not sure man, sorry. I also just flashed the Tar for MJ4 and it's available there as well, so not sure why you're not seeing it.
Have you tried pulling it via ADB? Just connect your phone to your PC, get ADB running and type "adb devices" (no quotes of course). This should also give you the serial.
Doesn't matter now. Samsung caught on and took it down already. Hahahaha

It's been awhile since I used adb, and I'm not rooted yet just getting ready. Do I need root to get the SN using adb?

Don't think so - just the ADB files themselves and general knowledge of Windows or Linux CLI. Easy to get but don't have a link handy.
