[Q] Is it possible to get older version of swype? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Swype on the sgs2 isn't really that great; it's not adding words to dictionary and it's kinda annoying.
I would like to use the swype version that was on the T959 (canada fascinate, us vibrant).
Is there anyway to get this version of swype? Please let me know.
My phone is rooted and on the ligtening rom

[Q] About Fascinate Rom that suported Chinese language

Hey guys!
I am currently using a Verizon Fascinate. I can use Chinese input method downloaded through the Market but I can not send it through text msg. All of friends who have smartphones (ones can decode chinese characters) are not able to read the msg they receive from me (just bunch of crap lol).
Just flashed with my phone with Superclean 2.6 and it works great.
I wonder if there is any rom that suport Chinese internally.
Thank you very much.
Try miui, it seems to be laced with chinese characters
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Would you like to tell me which one of it is the right version? I could not see the page for Fascinate in the main page of MIUI forum.
Is the MIUI rom you are using support Chinese?
Thanks.
The Fascinate port of MIUI is here (it's not official). Mind you, it's a very alpha version, with loads of things not working. Also, are you sure that (verizon's) SMS even supports non-ascii characters? I would actually be rather surprised if it did.
There's a bunch of keyboard app's you can download from the marketplace. The one that I use is Smart keyboard, and you have to download the chinese dictionary separately.

Just flashed it. Msg in Chinese is not working. The thing is that I can reveive Chinese msg fine (from my friends with different carrier of course, like AT&T so I thought Verizon starting to suport non-ascii characters with the release of IPhone 4). But anyways, Thank you very much.

[Q] Swype with Voice Input on 2.2.1?

I noticed that none of the 2.2.1 ROM's I've tried so far have the version of Swype with voice input. I like this feature enough to go back to 2.2 and wanted to ask if there are any 2.2.1 ROMs with the voice input version?
Thanks,

Where is voice input?

Ok guys, im currently running CyanogenMMatt v1.1 (a CM7 mik 6.5.7 port) and i just now realized that it doesnt have voice input. I was wondering what apk it is and how to go about installing it?
Im talking about the ability to speak into the phone and have it translate it to text.
thanks

Another solution would be to get Swype Beta. The current version includes Dragon Dictate, and works very well.
It is also my favorite keyboard.

[Q] (Q) Possible to Get the Nexus S Theme for Swype?

Hey there all, I just got to thinking lately after I was typing some things into my phone with Swype. I remembered back on an earlier custom ROM for the device, they had released the Nexus S theme for Swype on it. My question to the community is if there is any way to get this back.
Thanks.

Android 4.4 update installed Swype?

So I have a Galaxy S4 and finally updated it to Android 4.4, so you might be going 'wow, Samsung is slower than HTC for once!' and I'll go 'yeah, I know right!'. Anyways, now I'm interested in this 'Swype' keyboard installation that's going on. Before we begin, just thought you should know that I am just curious with who is doing this so it's not really an issue of mine.
Swype can only be disabled, but cannot be uninstalled. I have used Swype before as a trial, but removed it as I liked SwiftKey better. Now I'm almost positive this was a new install with Android 4.4 because I had to go through the welcome screens for Swype when I first selected it as my default keyboard input method. You might ask how did I first notice this? Well, a friend of mine was spamming emoji's because they new I couldn't do it back and so I was going through all the keyboards I had to see if they had a list of Emojis, which looked like is only available on Google's stock keyboard. Anyways, as I'm certain that I did not install Swype, it had to come with the update, but my question (or interest) is who did it?
As far as I know, Samsung has their own keyboard with a SwiftKey licensing to use their word prediction algorithm. Highly doubt Google brought Swype in as it would just introduce competition against their own keyboard and it wouldn't make sense not to implement Emojis on Swype if Google indeed did bring Swype in. I'm speculating that Swype (Nuance really) paid Google to have their application installed on all new 4.4 updates?
