P3Droid just tweeted and said if dx2 users want toolbox, he would need to borrow a device.
I told him he could use mine if he gives me a loaner.

At this point i'll take anything debloated and deodexed. Gingerbread is nice too.

Would you care to explain what deodexed means? I've seen term used a few times lately and I have no idea what that means...

Deodex is about removing the odex file that is attached to the OEM files. This allows for modularity regarding themes and roms.
This is crazy now, even the droid incredible 2 has gingerbread now! What's taking so damn long for the droid x2?!?!?

I'd bring it in and get replacement, I haven't seen enough people with the issue to believe its not an issue with your phone. Honestly I've been reading these forums for long time and never seen anyone else with same issue. Sounds like your phone is effed

Have the phone replaced. Tier 2 tech support will probably swap it out without issue. Just tell em exactly what's happening.

Ok thank you. Vzw told me I have to bring it in to a store to get it checked out.

I went through 3 DX2s before I got a good one. The one I have now rocks but the first one I got had frequent random reboot issues which escalated over the course of a week or so to this sleep of death as you termed it. So yes...I would definately get a replacement.

I'd say anyone who tries to, and doesn't know what this does, deserves the end result.
I think Nitro already has his hands on it from what I saw on Twitter!
I'm sure he does. I saw it too and it looks great

I just traded my galaxy nexus for a razr maxx today. I don't really care about down grading from ics cuz I know eventually the razr will get and I had the itch to move to another device.

Good timing, Verizon started to send out the OTA today, but there could be 2 weeks where it's distributed to everybody.

Looks like the previous owner rooted the phone but left the stock rom on here. Will still get the OTA or will be blocked?

It will lose root, but the OTA will go through fine.
Cool thanks. I really don't think I want to root this thing.

I recommend unrooting with Matt's utility just in case. You will get the update, but there could be issues. That is not the case most of the time, but it sometimes happens. I think it was a DROID pro update that messed up rooted phones. You should be fine though...
