I think I need to reflash the android system onto my device, because I uninstalled the wrong files and now so many system features are broken (phone book won't open, fc when I try, gmail app fc on opening email, all user installed keyboards fc, surely many more but this is enough to tell me I need a reflash). Question is, where do my current backups stand? Will I be able to use them?? Please help, thanks.

Officially, you can't backup anything and all your data will be lost. If you were careful (maybe you did ?), you would use Titanium Backup and xRecovery to do full backups, but now you've messed everything up, it's not even safe to do a backup of a corrupted system...
To reflash, use Pc Companion or SEUS. You can also (not recommended) use custom flashers you can get from developping section...
Hi, thanks for your quick response. I forgot to mention of course I used titanium to fully backup everything, glad to know this can be used. So what do I do, how do I initiate the reflash process???
well, check the top sticky post..

If you have unistalled any system application, then you do only push that application to phone, after that restore the sytem data by Titenium backup.hope you have schedule backup...
if you have deleted some system files, then reflash ur fone by flash tool....you can only reflash the system.bin.(you need to root again)
hope it will help you......
Thanks everyone, all I had to do was restore my titanium backup (all missing) and I'm good again!!! Sorry I'm a girl that's a little new to this (however I have been following these threads religiously for a while now) so I just kinda freaked out when it all went wrong lol! Thanks

Unfortunately for you, a hard reset is probably the easiest way. Then do an app/data restore from Titanium again, but DON'T restore system apps this time!
can someone please post a messaging system app from titanium on sg2 so i can restore that?

You'll need to put this in the system/apps folder to reinstate it, but this may not fix the problem as there may be associated files that you also need. Only 1 way to find out
mmm, i sent it to myself in a email and downloaded and installed over the top, but still no good.

You'll need to hard reset then. Since you have a backup to restore, it'll only take 5 minutes. Like I said, just don't restore system apps.
ill try one more thing, installing root explorer and see if i delete all the old stuff and install then.

You're not actually trying to install the apk by running it, are you?
tried to haha. but now i deleted the original via root explorer then uploaded the one you gave me back in there
didnt work gahh. it doesnt think the app exists now..
I hate to sound like a broken record, but do a hard reset. If you'd have done it earlier, you'd be using your phone by now
- how do i do a hard reset?

I have Ultratoxic Rom installed and I want to do a back up with titanium
Click on Batch and then Back up all user apps +system data of which there are 203. It starts and then the phone reboots so no back up done.
I would like to have a back up so that If I do move to another Rom I can always revert back to this one.
Is there something I am doing wrong or how can I fix it?
Answers on a postcard
I've never heard of this ROM..anyway what i suggest trying is booting into recovery and fixing permissions and try again and see how you get on, failing that a full wipe and start again might be the only other option.

The details of the Rom are Here
Re booted in recovery and fixed permissions and then rebooted. Tried to back up go to about 3% & phone rebooted again no back up done
Is it necessary to back up the all user apps and system data? Most of the apps I can get again from the market? Tried backing them up separately and the same thing happens when I go to backup all the system data of which there are 164. The Back up of the user apps went ok?
If I do a full wipe this would clear all the crap from the ROM and I would have to flash it again but have not back up correct?
Can anyone help me with this or offer suggestions ?
Thanks
Considering that ROM appears to come with a custom kernel, try a stock kernel.
Try to do the same backup selecting "Exclude active apps" instead of "Kill active apps". You shouldn't have any problem.

Without killing them you get also a reboot? Then maybe the problem is somewhere else...
Try the following: Do the same batch backup but deselect all the items in the list that are in red, and tell us if the phone still reboots. Also, when doing a batch backup, if you look at the progress bar, you can see what app is trying to backup. Try to see in which app the phone restarts and see if its the same all the time, maybe its the apps problem and not TB.

That did the trick it was Busy box that I had to remove. What do all the items that are red mean?

How did you remove Busybox? What's that anyway? I'm experiencing the same restart as you do. Running Lite'ning ROM though.

The items in red are system services, so killing them could lead the phone to be unstable (or reboot).

You can find info about Busybox here: http://busybox.net/about.html
You should not remove it since many apps (such as Titanium Backup) use it. You should deselect it from the batch backup list instead.
Thanks! Deselecting system apps did the trick!

If anyone Owns the dopo td-1010 and still has all stock system apps there is a very easy way that you could really help me out! all you would have to do is install titanium backup and make a back up of every single app in the list (besides things you have installed) and then upload the backups somewhere for me . you can get titanium back up here: http://www22.zippyshare.com/v/86267062/file.html . you have to have the device rooted in order to use it. you can root the dopo td-1010 with this: http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidroot/ ( works perfectly on this device, i have done it myself) PLEASE if there is anyone out there that can help me with this PLEASE get back to me as soon as possible.
You scrath my back, and I'll scratch yours
I have the TD-1010, I can and am will to help you out here, but I am running into a problem you seem to have already figured out.
I was googling the Internets for drivers to TD-1010 for Windows, for the same program/script/batch file you were recommending for rooting the TD-1010. I need to get said drivers before I am able to root the TD-1010 and backup redistribute said OS to you my good sir. At current the script can't find the device without the drivers. Hopefully I'll hear from you soon so I can do you a favor in return.
PS do you have the problem with it randomly freezing, or is that just me...?

I have never used titanium backup before, i thought that it would work, but it does not appear to actually back the applications up, just the settings and configurations for them or something. unfortunately, That will not help me fix this. it looks like the only way to do it is to use this app: http://www15.zippyshare.com/v/78017991/file.html . it is called "root uninstaller pro". i didnt want to ask someone to use this if i didnt have to because it is how i messed mine up, but if you make sure not to delete anything while your in there and just back everything up it will not harm your device at all. im a dumbass and started removing stuff i didnt really know what it was and then i lost my back up so i could not reinstall. thank you again for all the time you have taken on this already. would you be willing to use the root uninstaller program to make proper backups that will work for me?

lol... i just had to resresh the app list and then they were there to restore.
YAYYYYYY!!!!!
It worked! I can not tell you how much I appreciate it! thank you so much.
So I looked up info on both backup programs, and they are both equivalent to using the add/remove OR uninstall feature of windows. I used Nandroid for the full images you already should have the link to my drop box. Since this is a full copy of my system I do require you not distribute it and remove any of my account settings you may find. Feel free to keep any of the apps I have already installed (they were all free anyways). Good luck

Drivers
IMaybe a little help? I have been following your post and cannot seem to get the drivers to install. I have tried on both w7 and xp. Both computers see it in usb mode but once switched to usb debugging and directed to the driver file you posted it gives me the error the error message incorrect drivers. Any suggestioned would be greatly appericated.
Titanium back up creates compressed file with apk.gz extension. That is where the app is and you can use 7zip or your favorite util to get tin the install file which will have a .apk extension. Once you do that you can install the app. Copy the app to SD or via cloud drive like dropbox and install.
Ok, So I have an AT&T HTC One rooted. I installed Titanium Backup to delete bloatware from my phone. but when i restarted the phone this morning to install a kernel, all the apps I had deleted reloaded themselves, am i doing something wrong, or am i missing a step on how to delete these apps permanently? Thanks for any help in Advance.

A lot of people use Titanium to freeze apps; not sure what's happening if they're coming back.
I, on the other hand, rename the apks in root explorer (change the name to camera.apk.bak, for example). Another viable (and easier) option is to find the app in settings -> app -> all and disable it. With both methods, they can easily be reenabled if the mood strikes you.
The stock kernel has write protection so if you delete apps they come back.
