[Q] Market update? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought a GT 10.1 WiFi 16GB ( GT-P7510 ) yesterday only and noticed my market is not the latest version...
Does it normally do it byself like on phones and just wait?
thanks

What version do you have? if there is an update availble, market will update itselve

well the latest I can download from the market place is 1.0.16 but the one that's installed on here is 1.0.28... yet my nexus s has 3.1.3 which I'm all confused about.
It's why I'm asking here about

1.0.28 is the latest for tablets thats the good one

??? It looks nothing like the one I have on my nexus s and the one presented at the Google io 2011. This ain't the latest.

Then its not the latest. W/e

Latest tablet market version is 1.0.28
Phones have a different market app.

[Q] Android Update on Samsung Galaxy S Wifi 4.0 (YP-G1)

Hi,
I just bought one Samsung Galaxy S wifi 4.0 and would like to know if anyone is aware of the possibility to upgrade the "default" Android version 2.2.2 (Froyo) to a newer one.
It seems that a couple of applications out there do not run on this version. For example NDrive 11 says its incompatible with this and a HTC running 2.3.4 is compatible. Maybe the version or something else?
I already ran Kies and it says the version 2.2.2 is the latest.
Thanks for all the help you can give me.
Regards.
I've seen a video (found through google) on the net where the galaxy s wifi 4 was running Android 2.3. But it was unclear which version and it was beeing said that it will be upgraded when they release it in the US. But with all that Apple patent struggle raging in the background, I guess it will be at least delayed. I got mine in Germany, though.
Sorry I can't help with your question but I wondered if I could trouble to share your experience of the Wifi 4? Especially in relation to it's value/worth as a media player?
I'm considering buying the 3.6 variant but I'd like to get as much information before I take the leap.
Thanks in advance.

any chance of running google voice on this via wifi for sms?
Got one today from best buy. Overall happy with it, but its a lot of money for what it is, especially considering the paltry 8gb of storage built in. If you add the cost of a 32 gig microsd card, its up over 250 bucks. The device is good, touchscreen is good.
Edit: It has gingerbread, and it runs very smoothly. Also has the real android market.
In my country, the Samsung galaxy S wifi 4.0 only comes with Froyo...I check with Samsung and was told that upgrades to Gingerbread are not available..
Any chances anyone know how to do it ourselves ?
cheers
Us Version with gingerbread
I've just seen on Engadget that the Galaxy S wifi 4.0 in the US is sold with gingerbread!! Any news about dumps or updates available?
Just updated to Gingerbread 2.3.5 with kies!

How did you upgrade it? I opened Kies and it says it is up to date (with FroYo).

I dont suppose you know what the link is to the w00t post?

Er, well, I guess I should have been more specific about that. Which model do you have? Not the android version(when you connect it to Kies, it should say it in parenthesis in the box where it says that you have the latest firmware). It'll be 3 letters.
As far as the link goes, I do have it, but I'm not allowed to post links yet, so I'll PM you it if I can. If not, I'll post it here eventually(when I get to 8 posts).

It looks as though it is for the G70 - the 5.0. I have the G1 - 4.0.
I think the info you are looking for is YP-G1CW/COO.
I picked it up a month or so back and now, apparently, I should have waited - I live in the US and now it seems that they are available with Android 2.3.5 already installed on them.
Thanks for any help you can be...if the G70 file will work, I will try to install that.

Ah, yeah, I forgot about that. Looking at the firmware that I know is available for the G1, I don't see any 2.3.5 firmware out there as of yet. I'll keep my eyes open though.

Do you see any firmware out there for the G1 that is higher than 2.2.2?
Do you know if the upgrade directions will be the same as the ones on W00t?

Don't know why, but my kies instead said that there was an update available.
Perhaps samsung release different updates in different countries.
My model is exactly: YP-G1CW/XEF

Anyone out there that reads this know how to decipher the model number?
More importantly, is there anyone that knows of any Android 2.3.5 ROMs that will work with the YP-G1?
Thanks to everyone out there...

I am in the US (Got my SGS WiFi 4.0 on eBay before I realized it was coming out in the US). Now, I want to update (NOT opposed to rooting) but the majority of the successes I have seen are for the 5.0 version (YP-G70).
Anyone got any suggestions or pointers for getting the update?
I have researched the model number I have and it appears that it is out in the UK and maybe Canada (among others). Would it be possible to maybe back up a YP-G1 that has a Gingerbread update and "restore it" onto mine?
Thoughts from developers?? Anyone??

[Q] Latest Android Market apk

Does anyone know the latest version of Android Market?
If so, is someone able to show me where I can download the apk for my Galaxy S II with KH3 firmware?
I noticed for some reason my phone automatically updated the Market before, but I ended up scrubbing my phone and lost it
Will my phone auto update the market again eventually?
look at this thread.

Latest official android update?

Hello everyone,
I got Ace for my wife and I know sh*t about Samsungs (I use HTC) I noticed it has old Android version. Now, what are the mothods of updating with Samsung? Are there OTA updates as with HTC or you have to download rom from somewhere and flash it with cable? Also, what is the latest version (is there Gingerbread?) and where to find it?
Thanx a lot
Cheers,
D.

[Q] Unable to update firmware on my Galaxy 10.1

Hi everybody,
I'm new to the forum and would appreciate any help anyone could possibly offer me. I recently bought my Galaxy 10.1 and have been using it fairly contently for the past number of weeks. However I was recently looking to install Allshare and found that it was only available on version 3.2. So I entered 'Settings ->About tablet -> Software update -> Update. While trying to find updates I get the message 'Connection failed'. There is no problem with my internet connection as I am constantly online carrying out all other regular operations. When I connect using KIES, it doesn't propose any update to me.
I am living in Luxembourg and am wondering if that could be a problem considering the region of my device is 'XX', which does not include Luxembourg. But I would have expected another message, such as 'No update available'.
Any ideas anyone? Whatever I do, nothing seems to help. I'm open do any other options for updating my tab.
Thanks in advance,
Damien (Luxembourg)

get a custom rom ASAP
Yes it seems you have a bad case of "wait for the manufacturer" problem. There is only one cure: get a custom rom. The trouble with the Tab 10.1, though is that there aren't any custom roms based on Honeycomb (3.x) (to my knowledge anyway) since the source was never released by Google. So your only hope is to jump straight up to a version of ICS (4.0), which are pretty early releases right now.
Having said that I have done it and pretty much everything works fine for me. Look in the Android development for KANG (make sure you get the right one, they are different for either the wifi or 3G one).
Other than that, have a howl at Samsung I guess.

Incorrect info. There are many custom roms based on HoneyComb 3.2 in the development [email protected] If you aren't sure when giving advice, don't give advice?
Roms based on official 3.2 Honeycomb. I just picked some of the most recent releases, there are quite a few more.

Ooops, my bad. Sorry. I just read somewhere that Google never released the source to Honeycomb so I assumed that there was not going to be an AOSP. Yes I should have checked before opening my mouth on that.

And what if you download Samsung Kies on your PC and connect and update through it?
Samsung Kies is the official application by ... Samsung yeah (..) but it's not the world's most reliable application. Sometimes you might even have to install this more than once for it to recognize your Samsung device and update through it.
Maybe you already tried this, just ignore my comment then
I had something similar although my GT saw the update. After downloading it refused to install (update from approximately 13 MB). After reboot it ran the update to 13%, then rebooted and stated that it could not update. Same story when I tried to update through Kies. Trying to solve this one I flashed P7510XWKI2_P7510OXEKI1_SER through Odin on the tab and tried to update again. This time the update file was approximately 88 MB and got stuck after 9% and rebooted also telling me that it could not update. When trying to update through Kies it finally successfully updated. Maybe a bit much work (and tricky ) but it works.

Market Helper 2.0.3 Not Working

hello :---) evilbeef here,
Just want to seek some help from you guys,
so I have rooted my phone about a couple of days ago and I have enjoyed everything I do, like hacking games etc hahaha :laugh:
My phone is Galaxy S II. version is 2.3.5, I want more games too.
Well I see some forums and videos about this app Market Helper, I used the old version and the new one (2.0 and 2.3)
But when I started picking up device( I always prefer on Galaxy S3) and operator, It shows error
Cannot Send Device Config
What can I do here? anything or is there another app or method to install apps that is not compatible with my android version?
The thing is that at this point 2.3.5 its really outdated , if you wish you can upgrade to 4.1.2 (a custom based rom if you can) and try it from there , the 4.1.2 firmware is more compatible with apps than GB at this time.
