Hi.
First, great job for the root tool.
Then, I updated my X10i to r2ba026. But since, I can see the list of my contacts but I can't show them. One click do nothing, and a long press on a contact and clicking on showing throw an android.process.acore error.
Any idea how to solve it please ?
Thanks.

Yes, don't delete Timescape.
Any tip for me how to restore it ? Don't have a backup ...
Sent from my X10i which rule !
I think there's a way but I'm not exactly the best person for advice because I am a bit of a beginner.. but il try explain according to my knowledge..
Something like..
Getting hold of timescape.apk and .odex copy (which I might possibly have on my laptop)
Then using some adb commands to push the file back on to system and I gues instal it.. don't know the commands but I'm sure if you search for it ul come across something useful.
Hope its of some use!!

Here you are
I have created small script which will do it for you
1) download the zip file
2) unzip it
3) connect phone to pc(do not forget to have debug mode turned on)
4) run runme script
should be done, phone will restart automaticaly
if some error occur, paste it here

Using a third party contact app, such as acontact, nullifies the issue. You can do without timescape!

Yep. I'll second this. Any third-party phonebook/contact app should do. I've tried aContacts and Phonebook 2.0, and both work beautifully without Timescape installed. And they're both more feature-rich than the default phonebook.
Have ya tried quickcall by userscreen networks? (in market)
doesn't really show field labels but I guess thats the whole point of quick call.. has drop down arrow which shows contact numbers for easy calling.. looks pretty neat too!!

Yes, did it ... still have ads in apps.. like Ninjump
Don't feel bad, it doesn't work for me either. Seems odd that it does work for some people and not others.

Very sure I am rooted ( Ti Backup works just fine and I can use su in terminal). I have even uninstalled adfree and reinstalled with no luck. Hell, I even tried replacing the hosts file manually with a list that's kicking around on the forums. Still nothing. Just for ****s and giggles, I am re-downloading it right now. Its been a few weeks, maybe it'll work
No dice. Symlink is unchecked. Cleaning the cache now and will try again.
edit: still no luck. To be honest, its only my weathereye app that I'd really like to see the ads disappear from. I'd like to tear apart the apk and find the source of the problem, but I have never attempted something like that !
Guys I badly need help with this!
For those that got this to work what did you use? (Which Root method, and anything special done inside the app? I do have Symlink unchecked)
Specifically any Bell Users, how did you guys get this working? HELP!...

I'm completely rooted, and have done this exactly like I have on my Milestone and SGS.
Is there a way to get this going manually, since this app doesn't appear to work on the (Bell) Atrix?... Thanks!
Didn't you already post this in another thread ??
It's weird, when I installed GreyBlur when I first got my phone, the adblocking built in to it worked and I never saw any ads anywhere (It does the same thing as adFree I believe, so it's comparable...) but then a little later I reverted to a backup for some reason, so no adblocking naturally. And when I installed GB3.5 (now I'm on 4.5) I haven't been able to block ads at all since, either with just GB or with AdFree.
Until yesterday ADFREE was blocking all ads. After the upgrade stopped. The ads are appearing as if nothing block then.
This occurs in both wifi and 3G (Tim - Brazil)
Any solution ?
Tks !!
Edit:
I managed to make it work:
- Uninstall, reboot and install again
- Clear data from applications that have ads
- Restart if necessary
work that way here.
This thread seems to work for some: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122086
MUST BE ROOTED
the gallery app that came with the phone is lets just say horrible so i asked in irc if anyone knew of an alternative to the stock gallery...riggsAndroid forwarded me a copy of the 3d gallery apk and it worked with a few modifications to the permission level! So with that being said and with his permission i am sharing this info with all of you.
MUST BE ROOTED
to install the app you will need to be rooted as this needs to either be pushed via adb or using rootexplorer... and you need root to modify the permissions to rw r r using root explorer. MUST BE ROOTED
I take no credit for this discovery other than being a test bunny to verify it's working status so please say thanks to riggsAndroid for providing me with the direction!
MUST BE ROOTED
I will host the APK as i am not sure if it falls under warez guidelines or not so enjoy!!!

3d gallery?
On the stock gallery there is a setting that lets you connect straight to your Xbox. Haven't tried it yet though

I found out on the first day of having the phone that the stock gallery app was just horrible. I went to find the 3D gallery APK but just found it on the market: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.cooliris.media&feature=search_result
It works fine on my Photon. No root needed.

Wow - you guys are right... when I go to the market link online I see the Photon is grayed out. I just installed it last week though through the market on my phone. Can you try to just look up "gallery" in the market and see if you can install it? It shows up as the first search result on my Photon.

not stock 3d gallery
That's the one... I think the issue is that if you try to install from the Market on the Web, it won't let you. If you look it up on the Market on your phone, you're fine.

hmm....why not just install from the device then instead of adb unless we are talking about 2 different applications?

I think that's what we're trying to straighten out. This thread was started by someone in order to get the 3D Gallery app on to our phones - -but the method requires ROOT. Myself and someone else have said there is a version of the 3D Gallery app on the market that will install on the Photon WITHOUT root if done from the phone's Market (not on the web).
However, there may be some confusion as to whether or not we are talking about the same app. I have used the stock Android 3D Gallery app before and the one I just DL'd and installed from the Market on to the Photon seems to be the same. If it is, then that would be the method to use since it does not require root. However, if the app referenced in the original topic/post is somehow different then I think we'd all like to know (since it requires a bit more work to install).

Another good one is QuickPic which allows file management and better thumbnails. Much better than stock Gallery.

I've installed it by putting the apk into system/app changing the permissions, rebooting, and then installing with root browser from system/app. The thing is that it says that there's some kind of network issue, but I read somewhere that its because Samsung blocked its servers. And they say that there's a lot of stuff it can do that vlingo can't plus it talks back like siri

The network error issue is because it looks for I9300 string, which is specific to Galaxy S3 (they are not making it easy for everyone)
Here is the link to the modified apk which already modify within the apk to pass the I9300 back to vlingo network: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1664785
download the "Modified APK" to your SD card then uninstall the previous version before install the new one.
Just install like any other normal apk. Hope this work for you
Be sure to let us know if it works!
i tried it once...after reading a lot...i downloaded the signed apk file and changed permission and then try changing your build.prop
change the product and device to GT-I9300
thats capital i at GT-I9300
then u must be on ics rom
Hey all used this guide to upgrade stock jellybean,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1909819
Worked brilliantly and then got above my skill level when removing some bloatware, normally i copy the apks i remove however this time i pressed delete by mistake, now have huge issues with play store and other apps. I have deleted too many apks
Have tried installing google apks again but still no joy. Does any one know of a way i can install JB again to start afresh i did try downgrading as per the guide but that didnt actually remove the JB firmware. I feel although even with huge amounts of help from flumpster (many thanks) we arnt cracking it so a fresh install is prob best, i just hope someone knows how to.
Thanks in advance.
You may try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1916285
This is the full Rom which should add your so called bloatware again.
Before deleting any apps you may first freeze them and see if all goes well without them.
Actually, there is no need to actually delete them. As long as they are frozen or disabled, they won't be active.

Thanks for the help do you know how i can install as i said my prime is stuck on the startup wizard and i cant get past that, it just says setup wizard has stopped and then recycles it. is there a way of installing from Fastboot or ADB bootloader.
Good question. I would just give it a try. Since you are not within a bootloop you may also be able to adb push missing files and start with a maybe functioning device...
