Question - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Im trying to edit the semcGenericUxpres.apk to make the background 80% transparent i though i had it but i was wrong
What file do i have to edit? I though it was the png in the drawable hdpi
Sent from my X10a using XDA App

You're on the right track!
You also have to edit res\values\styles.xml (you'll need to decompile)
Change line 267 to
Code:
<style name="SEMCTheme" parent="@android:style/Theme.Wallpaper">
(copy the spaces before it too)
Or you could just use the semcGenericUxpres from a transparent theme and then change the semc_bg pngs how you want them.

Or if you only want to change one app you can do all of that inside of the desired app. Just a FYI.

That's not gonna work.
Attach your semcGenericUxpres.apk here

I cant attach but i can paste a url so you can download the one im using(wpctransparentlook.zip)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202716
Its fully transparent, i was trying to dim it just a little so i can read even in a wallpaper with white stuff but its still very transparent
Sent from my X10a using XDA App

Let me know if its possible(sorry for asking and taking your time)
Sent from my X10a using XDA App

Try this. I included the newer systemui with 6 toggles too since the zip you linked to had only 5.

I cant beleive it you actually did it! Ive been at this for 2 days spamming other threads and you solved it in minutes(plus extras)
Man thanks youre awesome, sorry i can only hit the thanks button, i wish i could do more, thanks

[Q] How to get rid of the word "phone" on rosie

Im trying to make a custom rosie dock, and I have a dock with the icons themed onto it and am trying to make the rest of the icons transparent...but how to I make the PHONE word disappear from the middle of the rosie dock?
It must be an xml, because there is no image for it.

On the mikmik forums there was a whole thread on modifying rosie. Look there as it tells you how to achieve it.
Has other great tips there as well
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Decompile rosie, navigate to "values" folder and open strings.xml with notepad++. You'll find the line where the string for phone is identified, just delete the "Phone" portion. Recompile and done.

Another very simple fix, just download the "Rosie Internet 2" mod from the Remix Extras thread, that's what I do. I think the Rosie Internet 1 mod might do it as well if you don't like the alternate Internet icon.
I finished fixing it workingon porting my theme to sense .

anyone?
I Don't Think that's Possible .. Cause u can only modify how the icons Look.. not where they are actually located..
Unless u can create a custom ROM from scratch ..
Sorry for the bad news ..
If u want an iPhone.. Get an iPhone.. ;D
I have an iphone 4s
And the x8 ;D
actually... if u look at it properly... that's android...
as chris pointed out, that could be miui
Yes guys it's Android and you actually can rearrange the icons to look that way. Search for tutorials.

You can use Super Status Bar (https://play.google.com/store/apps/...=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5maXJlemVuay5zc2IiXQ..) from the market. With it, you can personalized you notification bar as you want.
Hit thank button if I helped !
This one ( apps/details?id=com.tombarrasso.android.wp7bar ) is better. There is a free version on the market if you don't want to buy this one (or google it for the pro version for free)

Exporting Keyboard

Hello all,
There is a CM7 theme Called GingerBlurB that has a KB in it that I just love.
I would like to have this ava for say Eclipse... I looked through the the files but I haven't a clue which ones are for the KB. If anyone could be of assistance on this I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
If you were going to do that you would have to get into the images and transfer them over to your ROM and replace the images for the keyboard. I would think thats how it would get done anyway. My suggestion is to look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1241742
They have some nice keyboards. Maybe one you will like more. And you can just flash it to your phone.
I was looking through them and there was a gingerblur one in there not sure if that's the one that's being reffered to or not

You know, actually, if you took the .apk of the theme and extracted it, there might be a LatinIME.apk inside there. You could probably just put that in your system/app folder, change permissions and restart. I would have to look at the .apk though.
EDIT: Nevermind. It didnt work. There are nothing but images in the theme apk. Unless you want to go through the process of creating your own keyboard out of those images, which might not even be that hard if you know what you are doing, I'd go with the flashable keyboards in the link above.
Thanks for the replies, the Red Linear is the closet one in apperance but the key layout is different as well as the color...
Here is the one I want.

You will probably need to decompile the themed keyboard, then replace the theme in the keyboard on eclipse, and make sure your key mappings are correct

Think I could pull this off with Theme-Pro?
Thanks for the help!
Ok, after doing some reading, thinking and etc... If I am understand this correctly, the KB I want is in a "theme" which is for "CM7". That means I would have to use the KB from CM7 and the Skin from the theme. Now with that being said, I don't think it would be possible to install on my DX2 as it's running stock ROM??
Thanks for all the help.

[REQUEST] classic UI?

take froyo sysUI, take desired sysUI to mod.
replace replace some png's and maybe edit some xml's...

U should know.. in froyo we don't have systemui.apk! U should decompile and edit framework-res.apk

This looks simple enough, the only real challenge would be getting the icons. As long as we have those, this statusbar can be made in a flash.

[Q] I need help with themeing my settings.apk

Hey guys,
I'm currently working on a gingerbread ROM for the Huawei U8815, and I used THIS tutorial to theme the settings.apk and other backgrounds in different app. However for some reason, the settings.apk doesnt get themed when I use this tutorial, but other apps such as adaway do :silly:
Here are some screenshots of what I mean:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I have a feeling that my settings.apk has been rewritten by the manufacturer so it dosent pick up the background colour/background in my framework-res. Is there any way I can 'fix' this issue so I can set a background for my settings once and for all? Thanks, I'd appreciate amy help possible :fingers-crossed:
(Its pretty late now, so ill have to see/reply tomorrow)
Settings.apk?
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda app-developers app
well try to use modified setting.apk
since some system files are read only and cannot be modified unless you rooted them or use some theme apps patcher.
Its not about permissions etc, I'm able to add other modifications to the settings but I can't get the background to be themed. It is not picking up my background from the framework-res probably meaning my manafacturer has messed around with it

I know that, didn't you read the first post? I did modify the framework, but it is not working. It does not theme my settings.apk. It does theme other apps however meaning my method is correct an functional.
Please try to go more in depth as you are telling me stuff I already know.
