Does cyanogen have a touch panel feature in one of its builds to add like a menu, back, home button on the status bar?
If so, how would i add that to another build?

Yes, but it's on its own status bar at the bottom of the screen (for tablets).
CM7 has it in the pull down status bar also.
It's call the Notifiction power widget.
It's under CM settings> Interface

Would there be a possible way to add that feature to a phone?

Of course it could be, you just enable it in cyanogen, but since my phone has those keys, I don't really need it personally.
If you mean porting to something not running cyanogen, that would require taking it out of the cyanogen source and adding it to whatever you are using.
Im creating this firmware for an outdated phone because people are having problems with hard buttons so i figured a feature like this would help
Alrighty il take a look

Ah, that makes sense why you wanted it now. The only problem I can think of is the latest cyanogen uses 2.3.5 android os, so if you are porting it to something else not at least using gingerbread, it could be problematic with some of the libraries/dependencies and require massive backporting.
0uch, alright so I would have to rebuild everything to gain a feature like that?
Mmm yeah I think I'll stick to button savior...

You mean like how all the power options are in the notification panel on the Galaxy S devices and CM 6/7 builds?
need to have a source built rom to add that feature in.

Gotcha, I am sure we will have one soon, like CM7 and possibly some others
You could always just use quickboot from the market until it gets baked in.

Hi guys
Question: Does anyone know of an app, that can also give us Android users the kind of functionality on the Iphone 5 pull down? (See Screenshot)
I would like to see my mails listed, maybe the first 2 or so, with sms, weather etc?
I have looked, maybe this is a nice dev opp?
There are apps you use to get like this, but one single app, i think we still dont have...

For the Pull Down Notification Bar Toggles try "Notification Toggle" free from the market...

yeah, sorry. I saw that. Perhaps should have mentioned it.
I'm on stock 2.3.4. and it said it wouldn't work.
so thanks for re-using the search function for me.
Don't get me wrong but the notification/widget implementation on iOS is not pretty efficient in my opinion.
I'd hate to be constantly pulling down just so see what's up with the weather or whatever.
I rather have my widgets on the unlock screen or desktop as Android does.
Cheers!

if you're referring to the S-Pen quick actions then no, they are specific to Touchwiz. Therefore, you have t have a TW installed and running for that to work.
I've been using the SuperNexus ROM for the i9300, however one of the things I miss from CM10 is the ability to reassign the buttons of the device (the Home, Menu and Back buttons).
Is there a tweak that exists which will allow me to do this? I want the Menu button to open the Multitasking screen, and the Home and Back to remain where they are.
Cheers

Very new to Android, so is there anything anybody knows about that I can flash onto the phone that could add this feature other than changing ROM's or using software keys?

This can be acheived by using something such as Jkay deluxe framework.
I think you'd need to buy the deluxe settings app off the market too. Well worth it in my opinion.
hi all
Just wondering if anyone knows of an app that can move the 3 menu buttons from the bottom middle to either left or right side so i can get to it with my thumb?
Thanks

CyanogenMod allows you to move one on each side. I have my back button and recent button on the left and right side, respectively. It's not an app, but that's the only way to have that without using an app like button saver or virtual button bar (don't move originals but can place buttons anywhere pretty much).

I think its pretty great. The nightly updates and constantly added features is what keeps me going.
I use this version of AOSP:

Just make sure to flash "leftnavbar.full_manta-ota-eng.cgomez.20122012.zip" to move the navbar over (link in the OP).
Use Paranoid Android and in Tablet UI you can have all three on the bottom left. Otherwise you can use the expanded desktop with PIE and have them come or of anywhere you like.

Fantastic ROM! Finally expanded desktop is like it was meant to be.

Paranoid Android is probably the best for Nexus 10 and 7... Check that out
I'll back these guys up. Been running Paranoid Android in my Nexus 10 for ages and it's brilliant. I have the buttons on the bottom left and my notifications on the bottom right. I noticed there are some other ROMs starting to introduce these features such as CM and aokp but I'd definitely recommend looking at Paranoid Android.
I'm running CM10.1 with lmt launcher and fullscreen togglev2. It's just nearly perfekt
Need no nasty navbar anymore. More Display for me

Do you mean how do you turn on extended desktop so that you can use the pie menu? Press your power button until the menu comes up and select extended desktop.

Unfortunately, in this scenario, you can't have your cake and eat it too. There isn't a setting, to my knowledge, that allows using both PIE and the nav/stat bars at the same time. Maybe in an upcoming update? Expanded desktop works great for me, I don't even remember what the stat bar looks like.
