How would I be able to root my Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro? I have searched Google but haven't found anything except rooting the Xperia Mini Pro.
Thanks, Jayden
Me too
I'd like to know too. I'm referring to the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro model # MK16a
There are instructions for the rest of the family of phones - the Arc. Neo, and Play, but not the Pro.
There is currently a thread about it, but final instructions are not yet available as they are still working on it with the OP of that thread.

Does he have an Xperia Mini, or an Xperia X10 Mini?.
If it's the X10Mini (E10, robyn) then Gingerbread and ICS are out of the question on a locked bootloader.
If it's an Xperia Mini (2011 device, forgot the model-number) then you're in the wrong forum

Hi guys. Recently I was looking around Sony and found a link which says that X10 Mini is 2.3! Unfortunately as a new user I am not allowed to post outside links, but if you search up "Xperia X10 Mini Developer World" on Google it should come up with the site I found. I'm a little bit confused, is there anyone out there who could give me a little clarification?
Thanks

If it was on Sony's website, it wasn't the x10mini (2010), but the Xperia Mini (2011, without the x10 title), which was originally 2.3 but has been upgraded to ICS officially.

Our device has only 2.1 OFFICIAL !
But you can unlock your phone and flash 2.3.7 or 4.0.4 ICS or even 4.1.2. but they are UNOFFICIAL !
I tested CM7(2.3.7) CM9 (4.0.4) CM10 (4.1) and i can tell that CM7 and CM9 are the best CHOISE !
Hi guys thanx for your helpful replies! I understand that there are custom Android 2.3 ROMs for the X10 Mini that you can flash on it, but it's just that the developer world identifies this model as the X10 Mini, with the correct dimensions, screen size, a picture, and a link to a PDF that outlines the X10 Mini's technical specifications (not the Xperia Mini without the X10).
Thanx guys for your quick replies but these features of the site don't actually match how you guys have said this site is for the Xperia Mini.
Thanks
DrShellgon :fingers-crossed:
And guys, btw, pls check the site before posting a reply. As I am not able to supply an outside link, you just need to type "Xperia X10 Mini Developer World" into Google and it should come up with this site with misleading info.
Thanks

I've checked the sony site but could be just typo. e10 doesn't even have a front facing camera, doesn't have zoom capabilities, xloud, dedicated gaming keys, bravia engine.that is so way off the specs of our e10

Surely is a typo. Most of the details are missing for the X10 Mini (Processor, Camera, RAM, ...), whereas the details are available for the X10 Mini Pro
http://developer.sonymobile.com/products/phones/specification/xperiax10mini/
http://developer.sonymobile.com/products/phones/specification/xperiax10minipro/
this is just some fail : http://developer.sonymobile.com/products/phones/specification/xperiax10mini/
nothing is right in the specs...
eg : Google Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
X.X GHz Qualcomm 8255 processor >> the proc is a msm7x27
No,

I don't think so because sony didn't announced that xperia x10 mini gets Android 2.3
Folks, I am trying to get the full encryption on my sony xperia x10 mini pro working. This might also be interested for other people...
According to different sources on the internet, full encryption of phone is available (as regards of OS funcionality) as of android version 3/4.
My Xperia phone came with 2.3, so I updated it to 4.0.4. via the sony update tool.
But at Settings/security I still do not see the "Encrypt phone" capability. I checked with a friend who als has an android 4 phone and when he goes to Settings/security, he does have this option.
So I rooted the phone and installed the Android SDK kit. I now have a shell with root access and looked around through some config files but I do not see anything regarding security capabilities anywhere.
So can anyone please tell me where the files are so I can enable encryption capability to come up at settings/security?
I am sure there is some config file somewhere that just needs to be modified, like set "encryption = enabled" or something like that.
If I am wrong please let me know.
Why is this encryption capability not available by default (as on other phones with android 4) anyways?
Thanks for your support!

You don't have an Xperia X10 Mini Pro (2010), you've got an Xperia Mini Pro (2011), there's a separate forum for your phone. (And when you're there, ask questions in the Q&A section and not the general section)
